  Do nursing homes allow their residents to go to work and come back to sleep in nursing home?

  An actual nursing home is for people who can't take care of themselves.  These people are not going to have jobs.  You have to be a certain level of "sick" or "elderly" to qualify to be a resident in a nursing home.  

  You might be thinking of "assisted living".  Assisted living situations are usually small apartments in one larger building.   In these kinds of homes, you still live fairly independently but someone comes in and helps you with certain things or checks on you from time to time just be be sure you are fine.  In an assisted living situation, you can leave your home at any time for any reason including going to a part time job.  

  There are also "senior communities".  These are usually just apartment complexes that only allow "seniors" of a certain age to live there.  (no children are allowed to actually live in the apartments)  In a senior community, there is no one checking on you and you might even still be young enough to be working full time.  Many senior apartment communities start allowing you to live there at the age of 55 and over.

  Fired from my job, any advice?

  For the last year it has been one of the best years. I have working on myself. Working out, running, about to get masters in nursing for family nurse practitioner. Recently, I have hit a major roadblock. I just got fired from my job as a registered nurse due to hippa. I’m devastated. Been working in the hospital for 5 years. Even though I’m almost finished with my degree( 4months) and not planning to work in the hospital; I didn’t want it to end it like this. Also I haven’t told my family yet. I’m am just crushed, my life has been relatively good. I rarely face any hardships. I’m just not use to this feeling. Any advice. I’m a 27 year old male. Thanks

  How to respond to a boss doing this?

  I've upset my boss on a number of occasions with punctuality issues. I have promised to address the issues in my personal life and try to better manage my time (including external commitments on night shift rotations).

  The boss wants to take things further and I completely understand why. Our most recent discussion was difficult. She again asked me to just leave home earlier before my night shift. I tried to reply ok, I understand, I will etc. But with every attempt to acknowledge her, she just kept saying "no, don't speak, don't tell me, just do it"...I really didn't know what else to say in the end as she kept asking me if I can come earlier and when I tried to respond, she just cut me off and said no.

  What was I supposed to do? Tell her yes and then politely tell her the meeting is finished because I have to get back to work?

  I have encountered this kind of behaviour in a previous job. It wasn't about punctuality in that job. But when the boss was frustrated, they kept cutting me off when I tried to nod my head or agree to change.

  I left both scenarios confused as I had done my best to try and communicate that I agree with their frustrations and wished to address them once and for all. Could I have said anything different or was I correct to just cop it and move on to change what I'm doing wrong?

  Do medical clinics decide their own prices?

  I was curious if someone could technically open a  cheap medical clinic that does not take insurance, and only charges reasonable prices to stop giving the healthcare field so much money and power...

  Is it hard to find entry level jobs in medical coding and billing?

  I am finishing out my time in the Navy and have been searching for lucrative job prospects to obtain a degree in. I'll be up front and say that I am exhausted from the military and am seeking a good comfortable job that will give me time with my family. 

  I am interested in Medical coding and believe the schooling for it will not be an issue for me. I am more concerned about landing a job once I am certified. I do not wish to be unemployed and searching for years if you can understand that. Every post regarding this question is over a decade old so I am looking for more up to date experiences. Thank you.

  Not biology unless you get really lucky. When I was a kid, the guy next door dug ditches with a degree in biology. Really.

  I think Supply Chain Management pays fairly well. My nephew graduated from Auburns in it and got a job easy although I did not ask about his pay. He did several summer internships that were mandatory.

  Nursing student afraid of using needles? ?

  So I’m starting nursing school in the fall and I’m so excited and eager but i have to admit I’m afraid of using needles (more so IVs or drawing blood I don’t think shots would bother me). I’ve personally been to the hospital a lot and needles don’t freak me out when other people are using them on me. It never bothers me when they mess up I honestly barely even feel it. However I’m so nervous about messing up on other people. Is this something that should deter me from becoming a nurse or is it something I’m likely to get over and not worry about?

  Tips for care worker?

  I’ve recently just started a job as a care assistant, I would go out to peoples homes and just sit and chat with them and keep them company. I have extremely bad anxiety and this has really started to affect my work, every morning I worry to the point of vomiting. I was just wondering if anyone has any tips, I find it really hard to keep the conversation going as we would be sitting for a few hours with each other. I do enjoy the job although I do worry what the family etc think of me every time I’m out it’s horrible worrying 24/7 :(

  What can I do with an Associate Applied Science?

  I have an Associate of Applied Science degree without any particular emphasis. It's what it sounds like. I have been doing a lot of research about this degree and there are a lot of jobs. like Medical Assistant and Medical Technologist and more.

  work leave for hernia surgery?

  i work at kroger as a full-time pharmacy technician, and i am scheduled for laparoscopic hernia repair in little over a month

  i've applied for short term disability with metlife/kroger. from what i understand the doctor typically does two weeks' leave for this surgery but i will be given work release at my post-op followup two weeks after surgery. and i was told its possible i could need more time off, but i dont know.

  at our job technically we request off three weeks ahead but the schedule is made beginning two weeks in advance. i dont want to request off longer than i need if i wont get paid for the extra time, altho i admit i'm excited about being off work. i have requested off for three weeks at this time but i dont know how this is going to work. will i be paid for this? i'm still waiting on a packet in the mail and a phone call

  where can I apply for a Data Entry/ Scheduling job and it's okay that I am in another state?

  Hi Everyone!

  I currently work a FT job for a medical office. I have 3 years of medical scheduling experience and 2 1/2 years of data entry experience. I can type at least 45WPM, but more than 40WPM to be exact. I really enjoy my currently job, but living in Hawaii is very expensive. anyone have any ideas?
