Incorrect earnings reported by accountant on 2010 taxes?
I use an accountant to file my taxes. I needed a copy of my taxes to send in support of some other documentation this week, and when I was reading through my 1040 I realized that my accountant did not record my earnings correctly (My husbands are OK). I changed jobs in August 2010, and they have only recorded my earnings and taxes paid from August through the end of the year and my new job They didn't show what I earned at my previous job from Jan-August or the taxes paid during that period. I don't know how to proceed. I have tried contacting my accountant but I can't get hold of him. Should I call the IRS myself to see what I have to do? Please help anyone. Thanks
7 AnswersUnited States10 years agoAdjust Status entered on Visa Waiver Program?
I recently became a US Citizen. My parents live in the UK and now I would like to apply for their green cards as immediate relatives. I am under the impression that they can come here on the VWP and then apply for adjustment of status to Permanent Residents as my immediate relative. Does anyone know if this is still the case? I have read several posting regarding ICE issuing removal orders for people overstaying on the VWP. I thought, however, that if you have an application filed with USCIS before your 90 days runs out, then you are able to stay until the decision is made. Anyone have a dfinitive answer on this? Thanks - Sarah

My Husband and I are buying a house that was a builders model (builder is now out of business) They city inspector told us that as we have can lights in the garage (it used to be the sales office) we need to put rock wool or mineral wool in the attic space around the can lights. How to we do this? I have never used mineral wool before! Will it just stay formed around the can lights? Do we have to secure it somehow?

2 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoGoing through Final Hud/FHA underwriting approval... how long?
I am selling my house. The buyers are using an FHA loan through a private mortgage company - they do their own underwriting. Anyway, their underwriter has approved the loan and it has now been sent for final HUD approval. Does anyone know how long this process takes? The mortgage company just keeps saying we should know any day now, but they have been saying that for the last week. According to them the loan is going through as they have underwritten it and satisfied ALL conditions needed, it is just this final approval they are waiting for... this of course doesn't help us as we are about to lose the house we built because our house sale is being held up. Can anyone offer any advice? If there a number anyone can call to get an update on a file that is in this situation/stage?
Any advice please, we are sooo frustrated by this final stage of the process! Thanks.

3 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoWhy does the US lose out on the financial gains of the Retiree Visa?
Nothing in immigration is straight forward, but I am wondering why the US puts up with all the illegal immigrant it has, that people complain about putting a burden on society etc, then ignore the cash cow of immigration - retirees.... practically every western coutry has recognized the benefit of these people to help their economy, anf therefore issues retiree visas, with the LARGE exception of the USA. Retirees MUST demonstrate the they have adequate medical insurance, can support themselves without state help etc... to get these visas.. all they want to do is come here, buy a house (or 2) a couple of cars, take vacations areound the USA, eat out and live out their retirement in a place where the weather is good (Most retirees like Florida!) Bacially putting money into the US economy and asking nothing in return.... excuse me... where is the problem with that scenario????? And why aren't we taking advantage of it???

19 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoWhy are my hardwood floors rippled?
I had 3/4" white ash finished hardwood floors installed in July this year and in a couple of rooms I have noticed a rippling effect especially in the kitchen - we have just finished the remodel of our kitchen so I have not really even used it yet! A carpenter friend suggested running a dehumidifer in the room as usually excess moisture causes this to happen, we have done that but the wood does not seem to be going flat again.... any suggestions?????
