I know this is long but please please help

okay, so yesterday, i noticed a little sticker on my monitor with the spec's of it. "1280x1024 max res". That sounds cool, i thought to myself. The monitor came with the computer, so i assumed my video card would readily comply. So, long story short: I set it to that setting, and it had to restart the computer. So... I restarted the computer. And now, the screen is black. The monitor's plugged in, and correctly hooked up to the computer. I know this because I'm using it on safe mode with networking, and a standard resolution.

SO heres the question:

How do I change my resolution off of safe mode where it would actually stick when I rebooted my computer?

I've tried the traditional way, of going to graphics settings, and then settings, and selecting 1024x768. It said I needed to restart, I did, and the screen was still black. Using the controls on the side of the monitor, I found it it was still in 1280x1024. How can I make it stick in 1024x768????

Pretty much everyone who answered the previous question i put up a few minutes ago told me I need an HD monitor. I have one.

My monitor is currently set to 1024x768 pixels, but the max resolution is 1280x1024. i want to set it to the HD resolution, but when i select 1280x1024, and hit apply, the screen goes black for a few seconds, and it re-appears as the resolution it was before!!! No error message comes up, no notifications, nothing! The monitor is a 19" LCD.

Okay, i'm an 18, nearly 19 year old college student, and I've finished my first year of college. Last year, I moved out of my mothers house (my parents are divorced) to go to college, and she was for lack of a better word, poor. That actually helped when I applied for financial aid though, I got a considerable amount. On the other hand, my relatively estranged father is an MIT grad, and makes so much that I wouldn't qualify for a penny of aid. Both of my parents lived in the state last year, but my mother moved away in June to Illinois. When I go to apply for financial aid this year, I can't apply as independent because I'm not 'old enough' apparently, and I'm not married or in the armed services.

will I be able to apply for financial aid still with my mothers name even though she currently for all of 2009, and also half of 2008 lived out of the state?

I've talked to about 5 people who are voting for McCain, all of which I have known for a long time, and they ALL said the only reason they were voting for McCain was because Obama was 50% black.

2 of them actually used the "n" word.

When you get to the point where you face the golem in the 3-story area, i know that you start off attacking his hand like normal. It goes to a scene showing dark gems on his neck and him resting his head on the 3rd story. When i go to attack them, it works, but when he lifts his head back up he regains the majority of the damage i've done, and i cant get him below about 80% health. Is there something i'm missing, like a strategy i havent tried? I've already blown ice breath on the gems, and on his hand, and neither did significant damage. Does anyone know how to beat it? Don't say look up a walkthrough online, because i tried, and there aren't any since the game only came out on the 21st of this month. Will choose best answer, easy 10 pts if u know how 2 beat this golem.

I recently adopted an iguana from a family, and they had recently had a kid, so for the last 9 months, the iguana got limited attention. Prior to that, she recieved attention daily for the past 4 years. I own another iguana, and they seem to get along fine, since they are the same sex and age. My other iguana rarely even threatens biting, only when i go to put her leash on, but after that, she's fine and she can sit on my shoulder all day long without me even thinking twice about her. The new iguana Zues seems to be more aggressive towards us. Every time we go to socialize with her, she leans away and opens her mouth. I'm positive she had nearly no attention paid to her recently, so i know she's not exactly the nicest thing now. But how can i make her socialized again? Will paying constant attention to her help that? We've been socializing her alot, she's gotten to the point where she lives in the same habitat with the other iguana, but she's still not totally comfortable around us. After holding her for a while she calms down. We've had for for less than 3 weeks. Is there anything that we can do to make her more comfortable with us, besides what we're doing?

My fiance and i have 2 green iguanas, both about 4' long, and non-agressive, and neither are sick.

I've heard they're going bankrupt, and I definitely don't want to get into an accident with a mercedes and then owe them alot of money because the insurance company wont pay.

I tried adding it to my paypal to pay bills and maaaybe for ebay, and that worked, and they added a 1 dollar charge to my account, which makes my card now unreturnable. I went to use paypal to pay a bill, and they said i had to verify my paypal. So i go to verify my paypal, and they denied me through the paypal credit thing. So then, they said my only other option was to add a bank, but i don't have a bank account, i just turned 18 a little while ago. If i had a bank account i could use a debit card to pay the bills, rather than wasting time with paypal! So now i have the majority of my money for bills on a card that i can't even use! What do i do? Do i get a small loan to open a bank account so i can verify my paypal so i can transfer the money out to the bank account then pay back the loan which would probably take alot of the money i had in interest? Also i lost 9 dollars just by buying this thing, and i'm not gonna get it back cuz stupid paypal did an unautorized charge on my card without my consent! And they tried to play it off like it's for ebay to make sure i have a balance, but I DONT EVEN HAVE AN EBAY ACCOUNT YET! What do i do? I'm just sick of this greendot card, and i DO NOT recommend it to ANYONE! NOR do i recommend paypal! I thought i'd be saving money on money orders and postage stamps and be making sure stuff wouldn't be lost in the mail, but now I'm out of money, and i'm not even done buying my textbooks for college yet! And i can't dispute the charge over the internet, i have to wait 10 days, but my freaking power company probably won't wait that long. And i'm definitely not in a position where my family would loan me money, so that's not an option. I'm out of most of my money and it's on a card that i can't use, and, on top of that, green dot says my SSN and my Name won't verify, when i had my freaking social security card in front of me, but after that, they played a message saying that i got verified! Are they outsourcing the operators for the 877 number, cuz it was an arab that i couldn't understand, and my whole family is from trinidad so i'm used to accents, so don't say i'm being racist, i'm just saying i couldn't understand him at all. I would've had a better chance hitting 2 and going to talk to a spanish person when i only did 1 year of spanish 2 years ago. How do i get my money back to where i can spend it?

Within the past week, a golfball sized lump has shown up on the bottom of my stomach (the part that's literally facing the ground cuz im 9 months preggo). It's pretty hard, and it kinda hurts when i squeeze it. It's right above where the bikini line is, but it's definitely part of my stomach.

Is this normal? Should I call my Pregnancy Doctor, or my normal doctor? The baby has been acting perfectly fine, and shows no sign of distress or discontent. It literally feels like a golfball, but a bit softer. I don't think its muscles tightening, because its surrounded by pudge. Plz help.

I didn't notice it until today when i went to install a game. It's just stopped working, and nothing has happened to my computer at all, it just sits around all day, it hasnt moved in ages so i don't understand how it could be a mechanical problem. PLEASE HELP!!!
