    Could anybody tell me where the error is here? I ve been out of school for a while, and I m sure I m making a fundamental mistake.

    z = xy

    dz = xdy + ydx

    $dz = $xdy + $ydx

    z = xy + yx

  • How can I convince my cat to come home?

    I have a cat who we allow outside once in a while, and she is usually very good about it - staying within ~20 feet of our door and mewing when she wants to come in. Yesterday, we let her out in the morning but she never came back. We spent the night looking for her, but she did not respond.

    This morning, we saw her run across the yard and she allowed me to follow her to a neighbor's apartment (she knew I was behind her and just kept walking calmly away). When I knelt down and called her over, she acted like I was a complete stranger and entered a small opening to the neighbor's crawlspace. I went into the crawlspace looking for her, and saw her briefly, but again she didn't respond to me, and moved deeper into the crawlspace than I could reach (it spans multiple apartments, so it is fairly large).

    I'm not sure where she is now; if she's still in the crawlspace, I can't see or hear her, and it's possible she found another exit. We have left food out, called her name and tried shaking her treat jar, but nothing has worked so far. What can I do to bring her home?

  • Can my employer require me to send a notarized letter to receive my W2?

    I left my previous job in June of last year (before moving to another state), and called today to ask how I could receive my W2. My employer is requiring a notarized letter with my new mailing address in order to send my W2 to me. I now live in the middle of Ohio and the nearest public notary is 20 miles from me - which isn t terrible, just kind of a pain. Can my employer legally impose this kind of condition on receiving my W2 form?

  • How do I fix "Could not open connection to the host, on port 23" (Telnet)?

    I have been trying to access my cable modem (a Motorola Surfboard SBG6580) through telnet. Initially, I was able to get to the point where I would enter my login credentials, but after several unsuccessful attempts to login (still can't figure that one out), I was locked out with the message "connection refused". I rebooted the modem, and now each time I try to access it through telnet, I get the message "Could not open connection to the host, on port 23: Connect failed".

  • Why won t the Windows 10 mail app sync my Outlook account?

    When trying to use the Windows 10 mail app, I am unable to sync mail from my university email account. I have tried entering my POP/IMAP server address (outlook.office365.com) and my SMTP (smtp.office365.com), both with and without SSL enabled. Each time, the app spends a bit of time trying to download my mail, then reports "Something went wrong... We re having a problem connecting to <>". What should I do differently?
