1 AnswerTVs1 decade agoWhat good is a laptop without a wireless router?
i got a laptop for christmas, and i havent been able to use it much because we don't have a wireless router(I have been connecting it to our internet using the usb cable that usually connects to our desktop, so that wire hangs out and it is only a matter of time until someone trips over the cable, and my laptop goes crashing to the floor. One of my parents say that it just isn't a good idea, but i think otherwise, i have offered to help them set up parental controls, but he is still adament that it isn't a good idea. I just wanted to know if it is worth having a laptop if you don't have a wireless router, and if it is worth it, what can i do with it?
2 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agorunner trying to lose weight for cross country season?
I am a sophmore in high school and i run cross country, track, and am now training in the winter. My family historically is overweight with a slow metabolism, and unfortunately, that trait has been handed on to me. I really want to compete for the seventh spot next year in cross, and my only chance to do that is if i can lose some weight. I would like for any suggestions on what i should do diet wise, and also what would be good to help me trim down in accompaniment with my running (lifting, etc.) I am 5'10, 175 pounds, i am running 35 miles a week, and will probably be running around 55 miles per week by the end of the winter. I want to make varsity extremely badly, and have been working my @$$ off since freshman year. I am willing to do whatever it takes. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated, please help a fellow runner in need

4 AnswersRunning1 decade agoCould this help to solve social security?, i have thought this out long and hard?
I believe that i have a plan to fix social security. First, instead of just handing money to people through welfare, what if you forced them to use a sum of money given by the government to educate them selves through some kind of vocational training? An example of this is an industrial worker gets hurt, and cannot walk. The government gives him money to go to take a computer class, the worker then learns a trade, and can work from home without having to walk. He then gradually pays back the government through paying his taxes. If the government were to impliment this, then there would be more workers contributing money to social security, and therefore there will be more money to distribute to those who are eligible for social security. I know this sounds simple, and i do not have any kind of great knowlege of the social security system, but i believe that it is your responsibility to support yourself and your family, it is not the government's job.

7 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoAre there any true conservative candidates in the 2008 presidential election?
I am a conservative born and raised, not a republican, and although i am only a teen, i would like to believe that i am fairly well educated in world events. Although i cannot vote in the upcoming primaries, or electionsl, i would like to know if there are any true conservatives running. I do not know enough about any of the candidates to know if they are a true Reagan conservative. I am looking for someone who is pro life, wants to protect/secure our borders, lower taxes, cut our dependance on foreign oil, and achieve victory in Iraq
Please respond,
a conservative teen seeking knowlege
