Where is the AC Drain? and what is the firewall?
There is a clog in my AC drain causing water buildup in my vent system of my '98 Ford escort (SE). I know that I can unclog it with a coat hanger or compressed air, but I can't find the dang drain hose. There have been postings before that have also mentioned the "firewall" What is that? I've opened the blower casing and empied the water. I'm coming pretty close to just drilling a hole in the casing and installing a plug-***** valve to manually drain the condensation off!
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWater is getting in the ducting of my Ford Escort?
My '98 Escort has a small problem. There is water inside the ducting of the car's ventilation system. I took it into the shop and they said they had fixed it and that it was merely a seal that had broken. Apparently, they said that rain had caused the problem.
However, the problem has returned... With colder weather approaching, I would really like to remove the water until I can get it fixed on the weekend. The blower sounds like it is partially submerged. Does anyone know how to remove liquid buildup in the ducting? Is there a low point drain that I normal joe like me can use?
