I have this equation to figure out attenuation.

1=1o ^ e-(mu)x

1=intensity of radiation with attenuation

1o= intensity of radiation without attenuation

e- base of natual log

x- thickness of attenuating material

(mu)- the coefficient of linear attenuation.

I need to figure out the co efficient mu but I don't know how to rearrange the formula to make mu the subject.

A 3.8x10^4kg space probe is traveling at a speed of 14000m/s through deep space. Retrorockets are fired along the line of motion to reduce the probes speed. The retrockets generate a force of 1.3x10^4N over a distance of 2800km. What is the final speed of the probe?

Which I have rearranged to be Vf^2 = 2(1/2 m v^2 + (F x s)/m (I actually got the squared over the whole sum on the right but I don't know how to express a square root on my keyboard)

Vf^2=2(1/2 x 3.8x10^4 x 14000^2 + (-1.3x10 x 2.8x10^6) / 3.8x10^4

I get the final answer at 13932.17m/s

Not much of a decrease...??

I have to generate a time/activity curve for some data, on both linear and semi-log paper. I don't understand what linear paper is and I can't source any.

Also when plotting my data on the semi-log on the x axis which is the one that goes up by factors of 10, if my number I want to plot is 1250, do I just plot it at 1250 relative to where it falls on my graph?

I'm getting confused about the "log" part of it all.

An ocean liner leaves NYC and travels 15.9 degrees north of east for 244km. How far east and how far north has it gone?

For north I did 244sin15.9= 46.56949386km (not suppose to round off)

East 244cos15.9= 239.5146806km

Subbing them back in (square root) n^2+e^2 I got 244km...

But my answer is wrong. What have I done wrong?

I've used the equation v^2=u^2+2as, making a the subject= v^2-u^2/2s

V= final velocity (11.4 m/s), U= inital velocity (64.8m/s), S= distance (690m).

Therefore (11.4^2) - (64.8 ^2) / (2x690)

I get the answer 2.94860869 m/s^2

But according to my test, the answer is wrong.

I have plugged these numbers into online calcultors and they say that is the answer as well, so I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.

I don't know much about video file types, but I have made a home movie from all the clips on my phone in iMovie.

What would be the best file type to export it as that isn't too large but still good quality?

I moved into a rental property that had a filthy pond, no pump system, and no power outlets nearby to plug one into.

We cleaned it up yesterday. It was filthy. It smelt like a sewer, but its all crystal now and I bought some stuff to put in the water that helps keep algae away and takes the chlorine out of the water. Also got some things to create hidey holes for the fish and bought some lilly pads.

I do not have money to have an outdoor power outlet installed or the money to install a pump. This is a rental property, I have a baby on the way, this baby has significant problems that require surgery, I have no savings and a bust car that needs to be fixed so I can get to where I got to go to get this medical treatment. My partner is working a low income job as there is no other opportunities around in this small town.

I am only telling you this because last time I asked this questions the only answers I got were ones berating me that I have to spend all this money and get a pump installed.

So what other things can I do to try and keep the water fresh?

I'm moving into a new place that has a pond! But I have no idea how to make sure it stays nice and doesn't become a stagnant mosquito breeding pit.

I wanted to put some fish in there once I fix it up, it didn't look like it had been really looked after by the previous tenants. Can someone tell me how I go about fixing this pond (it looked a bit green and over run), how to maintain it, and how to care for my fish in a pond environment?

My boobs were hurting which led me to believe I was pregnant. I think I am 5 weeks and have only had a positive test since Friday. My boobs are no longer hurting and I have a constant dull ache in my uterus area and more so to the right. It's been aching like this all weekend.

I am 7 days late, twinge on my right lower abdomen, and my breasts are sore when pressure is applied on the sides and more in their centre, where as I have read that other women swell and are very sensitive to touch. I did a test and got a negative but I have never been late before, at most one day variance of a 28 day cycle.

I have big boobs anyway and sometimes they do just get a bit sore, but this has been 3 days now. Am I jumping the gun? I don't want to tell my mum my concerns because she will scold me for being irresponsible and then start knitting me blankets and booties, so internet is the next best thing!

Currently it is 1080 HD, which is kinda massive for the ipad...

When viewed locally it works fine, but when I uploaded it to my server it doesn't work.

Anyone know why?

I use a mac, connecting to the net wirelessly through airport.

I go to click something, open a new page, and it won't load. The airport symbol in the menu bar says airport is connected with full signal, but I have to turn it off and turn it back on for it work. This only started happening about a week ago.

My roommate says her net is working fine. But I seem to have the same problem on my phone and computer.

I got a new mac today and want to put wow on it, can I just drag the files from my pc and put them in my applications folder on my mac?

My neice was playing purble place and I don't know what she did, but purble place is now gone. All I can find is an old saved game. Where abouts on the computer would it be so I can put a shortcut on the desktop or something for them?

It's a bit like sleep, at first I thought thats what it was, and that dirt had gotten into, and I just cleaned his eyes each day. But today I noticed it was red, and that it was possibly dried blood and not dirt. Is there something wrong with his eyes? I don't think they hurt, he lets me clean them.
