  • Chemistry term that means non-reacting?

I swear I learned a word in chemistry years ago which describes a compound or object like glass as relatively non-reacting but I can't remember what it was. Does anyone have an idea?

  • ACC Football could get confusing...?

If GA Tech beats Miami and then loses to UGA, there will be a 3 way tie in the Coastal division of the ACC. Who goes to the championship then since Miami beat VT, VT beat GT, and GT (beats) Miami?

  • Jagermeister question...?

A friend told me that in Germany they drink Jagermeister like wine, as a sipping drink. Are we (USA) doing it all wrong by chugging it and making Jagerbombs? please don't give a stupid quote from the youtube video.

  • Good credentials for being a fighter pilot in the Marines or Navy?

I'm looking at being a fighter pilot after I graduate in 2.5 years. I wanted to know if I have a good chance with my credentials. I'm 5'11", 20/12 vision, swimmer build. Working on my Civil Engineering degree at Virginia Tech, so so grades (not sure if it matters). Do I have a decent chance at becoming a pilot?

  • Multivariable Calc help?

Can anyone help me with this step by step? I have the answer and I get about half way and can't figure out what to do next.

For a certain gas, pressure P is given by P=(T/(V-1))-(1/(V-4)^2) where T is the temperature in degrees F and V is the volume in cu ft. If the temperature is increasing at a rate of 3 degrees per minute and the volume is increasing at a rate of 0.2 cu ft per minute, find the rate of change of P with respect to time when T=64 and V=5 cu ft. First write the appropriate chain rule formula.

    Thanks!

  • How does a 32/37 inch Westinghouse and Vizio (either size) compare to each other in terms of picture quality?

And if you have one, do PS3 games and Blu-Ray movies look good on them?

  • Best Buy/Circuit City Sales Tactics question?

When I go in to compare LCD TVs at a Best Buy/Circuit City, do they alter the settings on the lower priced ones to make them seem much more inferior to the expensive ones? I heard this from someone.

  • How far can you swim underwater?

I'm a very proficient swimmer, and I plan on going to Navy OCS in 3 years with hopes of getting into BUD/S. I just wanted to know how far others can swim underwater and about where I should be at my age (20). I can go about 55 meters currently. But my dad laughed at me and said he could go 3.5 laps (87ish meters), he was a Marine. I know BUD/S only requires 50m but I just have to beat him. Also what techniques do you use? I use a breast stroke pull with just enough kick to keep my feet below the surface.

  • Are there bots in Resistance: Fall of Man?

I just got it yesterday so I haven't downloaded any online updates for the game yet. I was hoping there were bots to play against in multiplayer because playing against one other person isn't enough.

  • Advice for training...?

I just turned 20 years old and I am considering joining the Navy after college when I'm 23 or 24. I want to be a SEAL with my background in swimming. Currently I swim every other day of the week, usually 2 or so miles, nonstop and I am mixing in breaststroke now. I have gone 3 miles without fins, and for sprinting, I go a 22.5 second 50yd. free, so I'm in excellent swimming shape. I do at least 200 push-ups on the days I don't swim. Besides running and abs workouts, what else should I be doing physically to toughen myself up? Keep in mind I have a very strenuous academic schedule studying engineering at Va. Tech I don't have loads of free time. Thanks. Oh any other advice on the process of contacting recruiting officers or anything else I should do to prepare for the military would also be appreciated. I'm set to graduate in 2010.

  • ROTH IRA question?

I've had a Roth IRA for about 10.5 months with Wachovia. i put 2k in it to start out. The interest rate is only 1.25%. Is there something wrong with this? Or does the rate increase over time? Because that rate is terrible and i have made 12 dollars since i started it.
