Chaotes and Discordians: the Elder Sign?
Is it a Star or a Tree, or is the Dee diagram the true sign incorporating both?

1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf a book has a black ink mark on the bottom edge, has it been remaindered?
I tend to cruise used bookstores, and I have noticed a lot of the books I buy have a single black felt marker line on the bottom edge of the pages. Some are used, but most are, so far as I can tell, otherwise new books. I recently tried to resell one I'd bought as a first edition with that mark, and I wondered to what extent that mark affected the price.
Thank you.
1 AnswerBooks & Authors1 decade agoFor all the Christians who believe these are the end times?
however you might define them -- rapture, end of the world, doomsday -- I have a question. What if there is no end? What if what you see is what you, your children, all of us, get in this life? Will you destroy yourself, will you work to change things, or will you sit holding yourself and your loved ones in terror of the things about you?
Think before you answer; consider what your children and grandchildren could live to see come to pass and tell me what you feel and think about such a prospect.
Thank you for your time.
20 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAre there any ways to see the messages you sent in Yahoo Answers?
Sometimes by the time I get a reply from a YA private message, I'm not entirely sure what I wrote.

I'm thinking of sending a package that includes a tealight.
Thanks.

5 AnswersPacking & Preparation1 decade agoWhat is it about Jehovah's Witnesses?
The last several months, I get these pairs of people -- nicely dressed men, maybe two women with some kids -- coming to my door on Thursday mornings. They're nice enough, and they have their literature in hand, but all the eagerness just goes out of them when they see me and I say hello. Now, friends, I admit I don't look a lot like my avatar, but it's not my looks that's turning them off so much as I don't speak Spanish. Mind you, they speak perfectly good English, but they apparently don't want to spread the Good Word to damned souls like me; they'll even ask me for referrals of folks here who do speak Spanish, but then head out fast when I don't refer them to my next-door neighbors, whom they could meet if they'd just bother to knock.
I'm hurt, friends. What is going on here?

Or for that matter, any of the mythical beasties such as moon beasts, Jovian and Saturnian cats, and unicorns? Give me your thoughts, your dreams, your secret knowledge!
And I'll give you ten points.
Thanks for playing.
8 AnswersMythology & Folklore1 decade agoI know it's late, and I'm tired, but will someone help me with this?
I was doing a bit of research, as I am wont to do, and I came across this bit of advice:
- "Fetish": A Portuguese word meaning "enchantment", is an object or potion or writing given by a witch with false magic powers...
- "Amulet": An Arabic word, "hamelet", which means "hanging": It is like a talisman against evil or injury, or for good luck: A medal with a chain around the neck, a stone hanging in the neck, a pendent... the difference between an "Amulet" and a "Christian Medal", is that the Amulet honors Satan and his Demons, placing the trust in them, while the Christian Medal honors God and his Saints, placing the trust in them...
... The Astrological or Santeria medals honor the Devil... through them away, ware instead a medal of Jesus or his Mother, or any real Christian Saint... the Astrological or Santeria collars, honor Satan... get rid of them!... ware instead a Christian Rosary.
Now, tell me. Is it that witches don't have real power, or that only rosary makers do?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHave you noticed how many Christian avatars look unhappy?
I'd noticed it before, but now it seems to be everywhere. The Christian avis frown. It's a simple setting on the messager avatar page; why have sad or angry avatars?

has anyone got any Best Answers *besides* the ones that cycle back through? I figure I might have a dry day, but those are also the only BAs I've got in more than 24 hours.
13 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoWiccans, how do you think Goddess lets you off the hook?
In the Charge, She says She wants no sacrifices. If this be true, then She is unique among the Beings of the universe. How is it She lets you off the hook of quid pro quo when Jaweh and Baal and Allah demand blood and firstborns?

8 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoDo you believe we are in the End Times Prophesied in Scripture?
Now, I don't have all the calculations worked out, but I have a deal/suggestion/take it as you will for those who are calculating the start of this cycle on/around Jan 1, 2000 and ending, oh, let's say Jan 1, 2009 to catch 'most everyone: If nothing happens, and we're still here, would you lend a hand with the carbon dioxide and methane (greenhouse gas) problem? It's gonna be a lot more obvious within a few more years, and we're gonna need every hand working to solve it we can get.
Thank you for your consideration.

I'm puttng together a website on Urban Paganism, and while I have my own experiences and those of my friends to draw upon, I would like to hear more from other folks living the religions in an urban setting. Whether you are Wiccan and/or Eclectic, practice Asatru or Voudon, yearn for the country or channel Rat and the City Parents, I would like to hear your experiences.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

I like being a woman, but I just don't see why a guy would want to be one. Note: I'm not talking about transgender so much as cos play and/or drag.
