  • Why won't my phone turn on?

So I was using my parents' computer for studying, and listening to music from my phone (T-mobile-HTC MyTouch 4g), and I remembered that I had some songs on the phone that I wanted to delete. I grabbed my mother's micro-UBS (albeit a Samsung chord) to delete the songs from the computer, which I not the one that I normally use to transfer my files, but they are all computers anyways.

I plugged in my phone and removed my headphones. Within seconds, due to the awkward angle of the phone, the UBS slipped out of it and was not properly disconnected. I thought little of this and plugged it back in again in a more stable position. When I to open my phone's files, there was no folder, so I assumed that the phone is set to "charge only", so this time, I safely disconnected the device and went to access my phone's setting.

When I went to access my phone however, I found it unmoving from the lock screen, not allowing me to unlock it. The time was frozen at 2 minuted before that moment, and was unchanging. It would not turn of, it would only glow when I pressed the lock button, and go black again when I repressed it. No LED's glowed to show that it was on, so I went to restart the phone.

I removed the battery, but when I turned it back on, it went to the second loading screen, the "MY" in a green circle and stayed there, occasionally re-drawing the letters in the trademark fashion, but would not move on. I contacted T-mobile, who first instructed me on how to clear the cache, then they wanted me to do a factory restore, a drastic and unnecessary step. I refused to do a factory restore and stopped at a clean cache. The devise would not turn on.

I went to a T-mobile store, and they left me with the insurance company's number. After a long series of phone calls and transfers, the company finally agreed to send me a backup phone, which should be delivered by tomorrow, and leaving this one's memory intact, until I send it to them within 7 days.

The problem is that a glitch like this should be easily solvable, and I do not want a new phone because some settings on this devise cannot be retrieved, such as my contacts, which I foolishly do not have synced, and many of my applications, many of which are not available on the market because they were removed due to copyright or otherwise, or after a series of updates, are no longer what they used to be (ie, I still have not updated my Facebook app since 2011, before the stream of negative ratings emerged. In addition, some applications I had developed myself and I no longer have their files (all legal, just unique).

I can confirm that there was no physical damage done to the phone, and this was confirmed by a T-mobile representative at the store.

Currently, I am attempting to power-cycle the phone, though it is too early to say what it will do.

I do not want to do a factory reset or transfer to another phone, so is there any possible solution to this problem?

  • How do I remove my SIM card from within my laptop?

I put in my SIM card into my Dell Inspiron N5010 SIM card slot, but I did not know that it did not have receptors, so it fell through into the inside. How do I remove it? Can I shake it out through the CD drive?
