  • I need to improve my endurance. Walking 5K a day isn't doing anything. What can I do better?

It takes me a little less than an hour to walk the 5K, but I'm not getting any faster, I still get really tired fast and have no stamina. I would estimate if I did a Cooper test, the results would be "Bad" or "Very Bad".

I have been walking for over a year now. It feels as if I'm wasting my time walking 5K every day, when I'm still unfit, but I don't know what else to do.

  • for how long do you let the decoration stand?

I was looking at some US Independence Day decorations at Pinterest, and I would like to know for how long do you let them stand?

Do you take it all down on July 5th or do you let your home be dressed in red, white and blue the whole summer? Or the year? Two weeks? One week? A month?

  • Easter Brunch Entertainment?

I am having an Easter brunch for the family, and I'd like to organize some sort of entertainment, but the things I find entertaining - like sing-a-long and egg hunt - I fear would not be found entertaining by my family.

Especially the two brothers-in-law, whom I expect to sit in a corner and mope and find faults in everything.

Now, what would be entertaining for guys in their 50's?

All I know is that one of them is passionate about fly fishing and rather good at games, but he is so passionate about his hobby no-one else wants to hear another word of it, and he's not a good loser OR winner, so no-one wants to play anything with him...

The other is a WWII history buff...

I suppose a movie might do, but what movie? *I* would want it to tie to the theme, which is Easter...

And can I sit the guys in front of television to watch their movie and do something fun with the girls, like - easter egg hunt or scavenger hunt?

Oh, and what to give as party favors? I'm planning on decorating matchboxes and putting something small inside, but... what to give to middle-aged men? What would be generally appreciated by guys? I know what would please my husband, but these two are very different from my guy. I thought a little of a memory card, but those cost a bit too much to my taste. (I would like the item to be either self made or cost less than 5 dollars.

  • How do you feel/think when a woman says she likes you?

A woman tells you she has a crush on you. How to you react? What do you think? What do you feel?

Are you flattered, glad, honored, happy?

Or horrified, disgusted, yucky, want to run and hide and never see her again?

How ugly and repulsive would she need to be for you to react the "oh, crap, no!" way?

Is there any other explanation to why a guy would not take the crush as a compliment?

What do you think of a guy who turns and leaves and never says another word to the gal?

  • Copyright of private communication, letters, notes, mail?

Do I have to have the letter writer's permission to publish letters written to me in a debate forum, a blog or similar. There is no money involved.

Does it matter if the letter is just a short note, or a mail?

Does it matter if the letter is libel or has other illegal material in it?

Does it matter if the letter is not confidential?

  • What to put in an easter basket for a woman?

This is an easter basket swap so I don't know who will receive it - all I know is that this person is an adult, a female and likes crafts, preferably pink rose cottage shabby chic kind of crafting - because that description fits all the participants...

I'm Finnish and we don't have easter basket tradition.

  • Why do patriotic American Christians love their country more than God?

The Patriotic American Christians (PAC) explain why USA attacked Afghanistan and Iraq with several reasons, and none of them is acceptable if one is supposed to be Christian.

Firstly, a Christian is not to "retaliate" - Matthew 5: 38-42

Secondly, a Christian is not to resist an ill-doer, like Saddam - Matthew 5: 38-42

Thirdly, a Christian is not to use weapons - Matt.26:52 (Never mind if the disciples were to CARRY a sword. They weren't supposed to USE it.)

    No excuses.

If these PACs want to keep believing USA is a Christian country, *how do they justify USA breaking Jesus' implicit words for something as earthly and material as country and fathers' land - piece of dirt?*

If it is so, that being American, "owning the piece of dirt", makes them forget Jesus' words, wouldn't it be better they lost USA?

    Matthew 5: 29-30

    Matthew 16:24-26

To those who'd like to refer to Jesus, God and angels warring, that's Jesus, God and angels, and you're not any of those...

  • Patti Labelle's Potato Sallad?

At Oprah the recipe says "sweet relish"

    http://www.oprah.com/foodhome/food/recipes/food_20...

At Cooking with Good Morning America the recipe says "sweet pickle relish"

    http://www.wchstv.com/gmarecipes/pattispotatosalad...

Today show says "Labelle #2 Sweet Jalapeño Relish"

    http://daytimetalk.com/2007/12/18/today-show-patti...

What is one supposed to use here?

I live in Sweden, so I'd appreciate a "from scratch" recipe.

  • Why can't some people read and understand "if"?

When someone asks an "if" question, it's clear that it's a speculation.

IF Jesus had been shot to death

    - no-one is interested in hearing how Jesus was died, that the prophecies said this and that, that there were no guns at that time, that the cross is the symbol of this or that...

IF Arnold Schwarzenegger was running for president

    - no-one is interested in that he can't.

IF I was a psychopath, I'd kill people

    - some people totally ignore the "if" part of the statement and attack me as if I said "I want to kill people - I'm going to kill people"

    Why is this?

Why is it so difficult for some people to read and understand this little word "if"?

What would happen IF you used a little imagination and played with ideas?

IF you don't want to speculate over imaginary things, why do you answer at all?

  • When are Catholics Christian and when not?

Among the Right Wing Christians, Evangelical Christians, Born-Again Christians - how ever they call themselves - there's an idea that Catholics are not Christians.

This is one reason why they vehemently oppose when pointed out that Christians are responsible of crusades, inquisition and other bad things done in the name of God, just as any other religion.

Nevertheless, when people start talking about being persecuted, these same Christians don't have any scruples in dragging in the persecuted Christians of China. Totally in spite the fact that they are Catholics, and not acknowledged as Christians in any other situation.
