♥True love waits♥

It can be difficult to tell between legitimate mystery shopping opportunities & scams. Mystery shopping always seemed interesting so, when I saw a listing on SimplyHired saying to email, I did..but it's a scam.

Once they emailed back, I saw that they have no company logo/letterhead/signature or website and that their company name is probably a fake. They misspelled seevral things and, overall, seemed on edge about everything AND more like they desired to set companies up for failure and have that documented rather than to make sure companies are doing their jobs the right way. That seemed odd to me!

Nevertheless, this was after they had my info and, today, I received a check in the mail to cash and take to a supposed western union to wire elsewhere. I've read about that scam, too. Why would I send money to some unknown person AND not even know if this check is real? They messaged the usps tracking number, too, as if that'd do something for me. I will not be left with a debt to pay for a rubber check because all I have from them as far as identification is an email address. I can't afford that.

By the way, in case you are wondering, they'd said for me to take 200 for myself but never said how much there was in total and I haven't opened it, either.

What should I do overall & what should I do w/ the check?

Here are 2 of the email messages:

Dear Shopper,

This is to inform you that the payment for you first assignment has

been sent to you to you.The payment will get to you by Monday because

courier don't deliver on weekend.As you know that the first assignment

will be a Western Union outlet,the tracking no for the payment and the

western union outlet address will be forwarded to you first thing on

Monday so that you can carry out the assignment and wait to proceed

with the second assignment.There are other future shopper works that

will be available for you if you carry out the first and the second

assignment properly as expected.

We want your total Co-operation, Support, Availability and

Trust.Acknowledge that you receive and understand this email so we can

proceed, So I can request for the tracking number of your first

payment for assignment.

Do they repeat films often? What are some of your faves?

I watch because I do appreciate older movies but some do cause me to lose interest very quickly, of course. Some, I saw a long time ago and would like to see again but the only problem is I don't recall their titles lol I just want some info from frequent viewers of both TCM and AMC. Any other related info would be appreciated as well.

I don't even want to babysit another day in my life because I get extremely uncomfortable and tired of unsolicited comments from strangers (and it's always from young males) who see me walking with children and assume they're mine. The actual comments vary with each encounter but it's always something silly and inappropriate and they even try 'talking' to me.

What's with all the judgment??

If you can afford condos, cars & kids, why would you not get married to a special someone?? If you know that you can't even afford your next meal, why would you?? A lot of people go into marriages with cars or apartments already. Does this mean that if you can't afford it, you shouldn't try to get married??

Background information on my question:

Times have changed socially and economically. What hasn't changed is that marriage takes a lot of planning, including financial planning. The possibility of children means you need to also be prepared for them in every possible way. Houses need credit in order to be bought. Cars come with their own responsibilities. SOME things are SUPERFICIAL and UNNECESSARY to have. Struggle enhances good marriages anyway. Who said you had to start out "on top"?? BUT some things are essential, such as a place to live, food to eat and clothes to wear. I see many people unmarried because of that and many people marry without it but depend on others for financial support. This has left me...confused. I'm officially 'old' as I am attending my first wedding of someone my own age next Saturday.

I like Breyer's chocolate and like to make milkshakes with my ice cream. I put cinnamon and milk...it all depends on the type of ice cream. I liked Ben & Jerry's Ameri Cone A (or something like that) and I Dream of Swirled peace. I had a Walgreen's Banana Split carton that was great, it had cherries and banana bits in it. I like Rocky Road and anything chocolate...cookies n cream, chocolate chip cookie dough... Edy's......Okay I'm done being a "fatty" now :-}

My family, every so often, goes on a vacation. It's a twenty hour drive to a resort for two weeks.

Through several months of deliberation, I've been told the following about this summer:

-I'm not going because I have to take summer college classes

-I'm going, in fact, I HAVE to go

-I can't go with my dad, therefore, can only go for one week because everybody else is only going for one week

-There's no way I can stay here

The problem is, when I travel with my mother and sisters, a twenty hour drive has turned into a forty hour drive. It's non-stop bathroom trips, coffee breaks and naps. Then, as mentioned above, the vacation is one week instead of two because the women in my family are workaholics whereas my dad, though he works some, is retired. My sisters also have children, which is the reason for all of the bathroom breaks.

Honestly, I was looking forward to going but I wouldn't mind not going. The reason I actually prefer to not go is that I don't want to be a burden on somebody who has their own family and is tired because they rarely sleep anyway. Sometimes, these things defeat the purpose of a vacation because you come back feeling like you need a vacation from the vacation, you know?

I'm 20 years old but because I'm a female, I am not allowed to stay in my parent's house while they travel thousands of miles. I have a brother who is a few years older than me and has not been on one of these trips since he was 15! I'm not exactly calling my parents gender-biased, though (but they might be) because I doubt they'd let my brother who's a year younger than me stay here by himself...his behavior can get pretty outrageous usually...but I, who they all come to for help and consider to be really smart and trustworthy(or maybe just a sucker) am not responsible enough?

Anyway, I know that this has been a lot. So, back to the question, What can I do?

Okay, ever since a friend of mine told me to look for his grandmother's book on AuthorHouse's website, I've been doing research on them and on self-publishing. It's been, maybe, a year.

I came across Xlibris one day, eventually. I've researched them for several months. I know they're reputable but not completely perfect.

I know the arguments of self-publishing versus "traditional" publishing.

I've reviewed various options.

Do you have any advice and encouragement to a young writer/author? (That's my real question :})

It came on some time this week and I recorded it to watch later. This afternoon, I started watching it and couldn't finish for several reasons. The environment wasn't conducive to television/movie-watching and the story hadn't picked up enough, either. Knowing I'd never have the opportunity to view it, I just deleted it off of the DVR. So, can anybody tell me, if you've seen it, how it was??

I wanna know from users instead of only reading what info the site gives.
