Most of my life I have been a seeker of truth. I searched high and low and read many books/texts both religious and secular but the pieces didn't fit. The more I learned the more distant the truth seemed to get with one apparent truth contradicting another. I found many beliefs, philosophies, theories and ideas but found them all lacking. In the end I literally threw my hands up and prayed to the Most High God to show me the truth. Now I have the Truth which is Jesus Christ and I am a Born Again Christian and since baptized and later receiving the infilling of the Holy Spirit baptism as well, I am a noticeably new person.
What would cause the Moon to turn red and at the same time turn the Sun black?
What would cause the Moon to turn red and at the same time turn the Sun black?
I know that the Moon turns red during a lunar eclipse and that the Sun turns black during a solar eclipse but what earthly or celestial event could cause both at the same time?
Ref: Rev 6:12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, 13 and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.

8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoThe "thief" on the cross. How do we know he was a "thief"?
Please hear me out before making any assumptions.
In all of the following English translations the word used is "criminal" not "thief"
amplified, ceb, cjb, cev, darby, erv, esv, exb, gw, gnt, hcsb, leb, nasb, ncv, net, nirv, nkjv, nlt, nrsv, rsv,
and a couple of others use the word "malefactor" but not specifically "thief"
So where did this come from and WHY?
The difference between a "thief" and a "criminal" in the context that it appears in the bible is this.
A "thief" would definetly be a sinner but a criminal (to the Romans) could have simply been a zealot or rebel against Roman rule and not necessarily a sinner under Jewish law.
Could it be that the word which according STRONG's concordance and Thayer's Defenition (see below) simply means a criminal, wrong-doer, or malefactor and not necessarily a thief, is substituted by some with the word "thief" to make that man on the cross next to Jesus to be a sinner so they can justify some false doctrine based on the assumption that he was a thief/sinner?

10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhy didn't God want Adam to eat from the tree of life?
Gen 3:22 Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever--"
Gen 3:23 therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken.
Gen 3:24 He drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life.
Why was it so important to God that man should not become immortal?
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoIn Christianity, would we still have all these numerous denominations if....?
there was only one version of the Bible?
It seems that even the smallest changes in translation can cause a different interpretation of what a verse means and that whole doctrines have been birthed based on these interpretations.
So would all the numerous denominations have been birthed if everyone had used the same version of the Bible?

18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoEvolutionists: what did the very FIRST living organism evolve from?
In other words how did life begin? Was there some inanimate matter that suddenly became alive and then started to evolve? How is this possible? Is there a scientific law to explain it? I just can't get my head around it. Someone please explain the beginning to me.
If it all began in a big bang then what is it that went bang? And where did it come from? So what is the source of all life?

Let Trinity be defined as God being three "persons" in one God.
If you believe this to be essential to salvation please back it up with scripture.
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCHRISTIANS ONLY: Is our salvation eternally secure?
Some say "Once saved always saved" and some that "we cannot know we are saved until the judgment".
And likewise there are scriptures which can appear to support both views, but what is the truth? We know that there are no contradictions in the Bible but only misunderstood, mistranslated or "out of context" applications of the scriptures.
So if you can shed on light on this debate, please do. Please share what you believe and the reason why, with supporting scriptures.
Thank you.
It seems to be an ongoing debate with good
