  • Need name suggestions for a baby girl?

Our baby girl is due in 3 weeks and we still don't have a name!! Here's a few names we like to give you an idea of our taste:

Emma - this is our favorite, but we feel it is just too popular

Samantha - husband said it's too long

Alia (or Aliya) - I'm just not sold on this one for some reason

Kaitlyn - this is one of my favorites, but my husband hates it

Sienna - one of my husband's favorites, but I don't like it

Madison - I like this one, but again, it is common and doesn't sound good with our last name

We have a pretty masculine, German last name - so I prefer more feminine names. Any suggestions are appreciated - thank you in advance!

  • How would you pronounce "Alena"?

    What is your initial thought?

We are leaning toward the name Alena pronounced ah-LEE-na. However, I am worried a lot of people will say ah-LAY-na.

We could also spell it Alina, although my husband really likes it spelled with an "e".

Also, any suggestions on middle names? I was thinking Alena Grace, but am not set on it. Thanks!!

  • Pregnant Employee's Rights?

We have a pregnant employee working for our small company (about 10 full time employees). She's employed as an hourly, full time administrative assistant and has been with us 3 months. She is about 7 weeks pregnant. She's been very sick and has only been working about 23 hours a week. She is out of sick time and our HR person determined we are no longer paying her for missed days. However, she has essentially turned what we need to be a full time position into a part time one and from our understanding there is nothing we can do about that, correct? I feel really bad and I know my company will do the right thing, but we really need the help full time. Her time off is completely random so there is no way to plan when to cover for her. However, because she is pregnant, my understanding is we cannot have a talk with her about her hours and missed work - correct?

I am concerned with how sick she is this early on, that this will continue for a full 9 months. Do we have any rights if she cannot do the job she was hired for or do we just need to wait it out?

  • Pregnant and SO Worried!!?

I just found out I'm pregnant 3 days ago - I figure I am about 5 weeks along. My first appointment isn't for a month, so I won't get confirmation that everything is okay until then. Everything seems fine - all the HPTs have been instantly positive, I feel mild pregnancy symptoms and I've been taking good care of myself. My husband is super excited, but I am just worried!! I have a hard time getting excited and have to tell myself not to get excited because of everything bad that could happen.

Any advice on handling this and how to get through the next 3 weeks?

  • How long should I wait after stopping birth control?

My husband and I want to start our family soon and I've been on birth control about 4 years. I've heard you should wait a month and have a regular period after stopping the pills before you try to get pregnant, but my doctor didn't seem concerned about that? Should we use condoms the first month? I've never had an issue with irregular periods, but I want to do everything possible to have a healthy pregnancy. Do you know why some say to wait a month?

  • Dealing with difficult coworker and stress?

I am working really hard with a vocational therapist on dealing with workplace stress and my personal stress. I'm working on restructuring how I think about stressors in my life. It is going really well.

My problem is this one coworker I have to work pretty closely with in our small office. I think about 50% is personal - I just flat out don't get along with him. I know that is my problem I need to get through. The other half is he wants to be involved in EVERYTHING, including constantly telling people how to do their job - is getting to all other empoyees. To the point where he is telling my boss he's going to do certain parts of my job. Not offering suggestions - saying he's going to design a logo, etc. Now, I am marketing, he is technical support. Maybe it's just my interpretation, but it is really bothering me. My boss thinks he's the greatest because he has so many new ideas. He just annoys me to the point I have bad physical symptoms of stress that I'm having a hard time changing my beliefs on. Any ideas how I can work on this?

  • I need some girl names with "Lena" in it?

Lena was my grandmother's name. I would prefer it spelled Lena, but it doesn't have to be, it should just sound like "LEE NA".

I like the name Alena. Any others?

  • What is a good mouthwash? That is not Crest Pro-Health!?

I've been using Crest-Pro Health Nighttime mouthwash, but it's staining my back molars. That aside, it works great - the dentist found hardly no plaque on my teeth. But I don't want stained teeth?

So is there a product that works as well without staining my teeth?

  • Can I register a car I don't own?

  • I just bought a 2005 vehicle, do I need an emissions test before I register it?

I think that, because it is less than 4 years old, it is exempt until next year.... correct?

  • I'm selling a car in Colorado - do I need a new or current emissions test?

The buyer wants a new emissions test done today. I have one done in 2007 that is still current (valid for 2 years). We called the DMV and they said the current one is fine. The buyers insist we are required to furnish a brand new one and say the DMV website states clearly we need a new one. Who is correct?

  • Possible allergic reaction that would cause itching all over?

I am trying to narrow down what might be cause my skin itching all over. I get no rash, but am itchy all over for 2-3 days maybe once or twice a month. There is no rash. Benedryl helps alleviate the itching for a couple hours.

I'm going to write down everything I eat to see if I can find some trends, but what else should I look at?

  • Is there a way to help benadryl drowsiness?

I have to take Benadryl right now. I had a weird allergic reaction and everything itches - Benadryl is the only thing that works. I've had these bouts and they are usually gone in a day or two. But I can't stand being at my desk 8 hours while itching like crazy. Is there anything I can do to counter the tiredness from Benadryl? I'm worried to drink coffee in case it makes me extra jittery.

  • Is there a plant I can keep in a room with little to none natural light?

My office at work is so dreary - the only natural light it from a window out the door and about 25 feet away. I think plants will create such a nicer atmosphere, but they won't get any light. Is there a plant that doesn't need light or a way I can give a plant light?

  • Question regarding being a bridesmaid?

I am to be in a wedding next month. I've already attended 1 vacation/bachelorette/bachelor party in Miami. There were 3 couples and we flew out for a long weekend, stayed at a nice hotel and took the bride to be out for a fancy dinner/drinks. I spent a lot of $ that weekend (about $600)

Now, there is going to be an "in town" bachelorette party and the maid of honor rented rooms at an expensive hotel downtown about 5 minutes from where I live. I don't want to stay at the hotel because I just can't afford it. But as a bridesmaid I feel it's my duty not just to go, but to help pay for the bride?

Another problem is, I feel like I'll look like a total loser because the maid of honor and other bridesmaid don't know about our Miami trip (we didn't want them to feel bad excluding them, but the 6 of us were close friends from high school and didn't know the bride's friends at all. Plus they had kids to deal with.)

So what to do? Talk to her? How? Advice pleas

  • Best places for glasses / eye exam without insurance?

I have no vision insurance and would like suggestions for a place to get a cheap (but good) eye exam and glasses/contact. Any recommendations. I have no major problems. Last time I went to Walmart and they seemed they hardly spent any time with me - I want to make sure I'm getting the correct prescription!

    Thanks
