  • Looking for a childhood toy?

    Hi!

I am looking for a specific brand of toy which I enjoyed very much when I was a kid. This is about 20-25 years ago, so please allow me to use my memory to give the best description.

    1) The toy was a plastic dinosaur-like figuerine (about 1 foot tall)

    2) It was assembled together with many plastic pieces (not like LEGO; each piece has very unique shape)

    3) There was a central winding core. If you wind it up, the dinosaur will slowly move forward with its legs

    4) I remember at the head or heart of the dinosaur, you can insert a tiny silver/golden astronaut as if he is operating the dinosaur

    5) There are many types of dinosaur in the brand

    6) I'm fairly sure this toy originated from either Japan or US.

I know this is really vague. If someone can point me in the right direction, I must be having my lucky day!

    Thanks for reading, Julius

  • Where is "Three Pillar National Park" in US?

Hi, I really need some help.

There was one time I saw in a travel magazine that there is a "Three Pillar National Park" in US. I put the name in quotation marks because I am not sure if that is what it is called. I've googled it extensive and did not find it.

Basically, the place has the landscape of a large desert flat with three large rocky columns standing out. I suspect it is in the West near the Rocky Mountains.

If you can tell me where it is and its correct name, I'd really appreciate it.

  • Are military ammo bad for hunting rifle?

I recently bought a Browning X-Bolt White Gold. It shoots .30-06 rounds. I go to shoot range every weekend to improve my marksmanship. I use the 100-yard target every time.

Factory-made ammo are about $1.50 each. Then I saw some much less expensive rounds (about $0.80 each) at a local gunshow, but they are military supplies. The store who sold me the factory-made ammo told me military rounds are toxic to my rifle, but I'm taking the comment with a grain of salt.

Is it true that military rounds are bad for this hunting rifle? The military rounds have pointed bullets, instead of soft points, but for shooting practice I can't care less.

  • Easy-to-rinse body wash (non sticky/slimy)?

Can someone please recommend a brand of body wash that is easy to rinse off?

I tried several brands in the past. The foam was great but it left such a sticky/slimy layer that takes so much water to rinse off. I tried several rare imported brands from Asia, and it had good form and rinsed off almost instantly. There has to be a similar product in the U.S. and I appreciate your help!

  • Recommend a book for history of Catholic Church?

First, let me admit that I am not a christian. However, I am extremely interested in the history of the catholic church.

I would appreciate if someone could recommend a non-fiction book for me, which describes, as objectively as possible, the history of the catholic church. This will be one of my "fun reading" books, so perhaps not something that's very wordy or academic.

    Many thanks.

  • News show similar to PTI?

I'm a big fan of the PTI show (Pardon The Interruption) on ESPN. I'm simply wondering if there's a TV show with similar format and tone of humor, but covering all major news.

    Thanks!

  • Charging multiple micro usb devices?

It turns out that I have many devices that require charging via micro-usb. I'm wondering if there is a one-AC-outlet to 5+ micro usb charger out there. I've seen a gadget called "Chargepod", but it's too expensive (50 dollars) and way to complex with many adapters.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Which superman episode?

    Hi,

I know this may sound a little bit strange, but I need this information to complete a project.

I'm looking for an episode in "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" (1993–1997) played by Dean Cain and Terri Hatcher.

There was a scene in which Lois and Clark were both dressed in business attire. Clark threw Lois to the ground and they started to kiss and wanted to have sex. Then the light went on, and their coworkers caught them. If I remember correctly, the coworkers were having a surprise party for them.

    Thanks!

  • Mutual fund fraud and aftermath. Need help!?

My family entercountered a problem recently. If you will bear with me I will explain it quickly.

My wife and I invested 100K into a "fund." This fund is not big, having about 70 investors. Last November, I did not want to take the risk anymore so I withdrew all my money without the profit, i..e $100K.

Now this whole thing turns to be a fraud. However, we were told that we have to give some of the $100K back into the "pool" because I withdrew it recently, and it is mandated by the law. We feel like it's BS, but we know absolutely nothing about law and finance regulations.

Your help is very appreciated. If you can link some source to clarify this matter, it'd be awesome. Thank you!

  • 1st time going to strip club?

I'm going to strip club for the 1st time (cheers). I'm fully aware of the rules that people post on other sites, like don't say rude words or touch the girls. I just have some quick questions.

    1. I don't drink any alcohol. Zero. I'm wondering if that'd be frowned upon in the strip club. How embarassing is it to walk into a strip club and order a "Coke?"

    2. I'm not particularly interested in lap dances. They just don't turn me on. Basically, all I want to do is going there and watching whatever that's available. Is this cool?

    3. I always believe strip clubs are run by gangs. And I think they should be. I'm afraid that someone will basically "rob" me for money.

    4. If I get no lap dance or alcoholic drinks, how much will it be? A rough estimate will be enough.

    5. Is it "safe?" As you can tell so far, I'm a pretty "ordinary" guy and I live a peaceful life. If you have to be "tough" to go to a strip club I will just stay home instead.

    THANK YOU!

  • Looking for a software that captures screen every XX milliseconds?

Hi guys, I'm desperately searching for a software that's going to capture my screen every 10-100 milliseconds (the faster the better). I need this BAD for my school project. I prefer the output files to be a series of JPG, not AVI or GIF.

One word will save my life, and I wish I could thank you more than giving you a "best answer."

I need some serious advice because I'm buying my mom some cosmetics for x-mas, and, I know little to nothing (make it nothing) about this topic.

Well, basically, she wants some facial cream/lotion that's gonna do DEHYDRATION, ANTI-WRINKLE, and making the skin looks "whiter" (whatever that means). I'm looking forward to spending less than 50 bucks (sorry that's all I can make!)

I know 50 dollars isn't a lot when it comes to cosmetics. But do your best to help me! THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND MERRX X-MAS!

P.S. My mom is Asian and she's in her mid-50s.

  • What should I do if everyone in my family is racist, but I'm against racism?

This is not really a R&S question but I decided to post it here because this seems to be the most active forum on Y!A.

I was raised in China but I came to US in 2000. I'm 22 now and I'm in graduate school. I'm now a citizen and I love this great country. I absolutely condemn racism, but everyone in my family, my parents, my cousin, who happen to live with me, are just racist. They comment on people solely based on their ethnic backgrounds on a daily basis.

I have so many friends from virtually all races. In fact, I have 10x more non-Asian friends than Asian friends. But every time I mention a friend of mine to my family, the FIRST question they ask is "what nationality is this kid?" I get absolutely upset. I love my parents very very much. We have zero disagreement on anything else. My cousin, hmm, I don't know.

What do you think I should do? Right now I'm just swallowing everything into my stomach and hope I would find my own housing soon.

  • If a polar bear was on Noah's Ark, would it die from overheating?

Polar bears overheat when temperature is above 10 degrees Celsius. Many animals will be frozen to death below 10 degrees Celsius. How could they all be on Noah's Ark at the same time?
