What is the position of American Unions with respect to illegal immigration?
I don't recall seeing much from the Unions in the Press. I would think they see illegals as scabs crossing the picket line (the US border). Average American wages have fallen in construction (framers, landscaping, etc.) and service (hotel cleaning, etc.) industries. I would think it's only a matter of time when coveted jobs like auto manufacturing, trucking, steel work, and others would eventually suffer a wage drop. Can any Union members share some info?

You don't work, you don't eat.
Residing in the US illegally does not give you use of public services (to include schools) or a "path to citizenship".
Illegal citizen or not, getting knocked up and having your baby in the US should not give you or your child a tether to welfare.
An inability to pay should deny you access to hospital and emergency room care.
I know these are hard lines, but it is more and more troubling that I have to foot the bill for people who won't pay their own way and be responsible for their own choices/actions.
Social charity is meant to be temporary, not a life choice. And it should be reserved for the elderly, ill, and disabled. Too many able bodied people are taking advantage of a system funded by a disenfranchised working class.
