Spreadsheet - When I drag down on the bottom right corner of a cell
I have a simple formula for finding the time it takes to go a certain distance at a certain speed. So if traveling at 60 mph for 55 miles my cell will output 55 minutes. Column A is my distances, row 1 is my speeds. My formula is B2=(A2*60)/B1 where A2 is 55 miles and B1 is 60 mph. I have a lot of different miles listed in column A and several different speeds listed in row 1. The problem is that I always want to reference B1 in the B column and C1 in the C column, etc. while at the same time referencing A1, A2, A3, etc as I drag down on the bottom right corner of a cell. Instead, it creates formulas where the cell above is referenced (B2, B3, B4 or C2, C3, C4) and I only want to reference the top cell which is my speed. How do I lock that reference so that it won't change?
I'm using Google Docs spreadsheet. It seems to be pretty similar to Excel.
2 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoWhy support troops?
Why should someone "support our troops" if they don't believe in the war and the soldiers are not drafted? Any thoughts?
(Asking this question does not reflect my opinion on the subject one way or the other)
21 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoShould ESPN be the only news agency allowed to report on politics and elections?
Sports news programs/stations like ESPN have very objective, well thought out arguments about sports that are supported with statistical data. Regular news media tends to be bias one way or the other and rarely support stances with hard stats. They never agree to see the other side of an issue, which sportscasters often do. I never see stat summaries on how candidates have voted. Why is it that we let the media be so biased? Why do we let them just throw ideas out without hard data to support it?
6 AnswersMedia & Journalism1 decade agoWhy are a 12 and 13 year old providing our soldiers communication?
A 12 and 13 year old have been recycling hundreds of thousands of cell phones and using AT&T phone cards to provide our soldiers with free calls home. They started it b/c one soldier had run up an $8,000.00 cell phone bill calling home. I think they are doing a great thing. My question is why isn't it already provided? Shouldn't our government already have taken care of this? If a 12 and 13 year old can get it done, then surely our trillion dollar military could. Anyone have any insights or thoughts?

The NY Giants just unveiled their flashy Super Bowl ring design and the team will be presented with the rings sometime this spring. I was wondering who pays for the ring? Is it the owner, the team, or the players themselves?
Here's an article with the design for the NY Giants Super Bowl ring:

11 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agoAre women really this selfish?
The following article talks about a man who planned on using a balloon to propose to his girlfriend. He had placed a $12,000 ring in a balloon filled with helium and was planning on having her pop the balloon as he popped the question. Upon leaving the store, a gust of wind swept the balloon away and he spent the following couple of hours unsuccessfully searching for it. When he told his girlfriend what happened, she was furious and said she wouldn't say yes until he buys her another ring.
I would dump her immediately. What a stuck up, selfish girl. Are all women this way?
16 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoWhy do people insist on creating 'unique' spellings for normal names?
And then they gripe about how people can't spell their names on Yahoo Answers! If your parents would have been kind enough to spell your name normal, then everyone else wouldn't be just as aggravated for having to figure out how to spell your name. If you want your child to have a unique name, then give him or her a unique name, not a screwed up spelling. Until then, don't complain when people misspell it b/c it's your parents fault, not the rest of society. Am I wrong?
13 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoWhere is web design headed in terms of programming languages?
I have been completely out of web design for over six years and have no idea what direction it is headed. I'm interested in dabbling in it again, but feeling a little too lazy to research what languages I should learn or relearn. With broadband access allowing such high use of audio, video, etc. what languages are best suited for the web now and in the future? From a language point of view, where is web design headed?
2 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoHelicopter Pilots: Should news pilots stick to flying?
In reference to the recent crash in Phoenix, wouldn't it make more sense for the pilot of the news helicopter to do the flying and have the cameraman do the live on-air television reporting? It seems to me that a cameraman screwing up a video shot b/c he's talking is a much more desirable mistake than a pilot becoming too distracted and causing pilot error.
6 AnswersAircraft1 decade agoRear Jacking and Jack Stand Points on a '97 Maxima?
I have both the Chilton and Haynes Manuals for late 90's model Nissan Maximas. The Hayes manual doesn't describe where to place the jack or the jack stands at all. The Chilton Manual correctly describes how to jack and jack stand the front, but must be using an older model vehicle for the rear b/c the picture and description doesn't come close to what my 97 Maxima looks like. Where is it safe to jack the rear of my vehicle and where is it safe to place my jack stands?
Thanks.
