My Bitzy is exactly 53 days pregnant! Yes, I have a mentor. Yes, I have had all the tests done. Yes, we had an ultrasound. Yes, we already had one xray done (pups were not yet calcified enough to count) and still have yet ANOTHER appointment for Monday to just COUNT pups! I have studied for 3 years, I have a mentor, I know the stats on my female AND the sire. My female is at least TWICE the size of the sire and the vet says he firmly believes that her stature is right and that her pelvic outlet is large enough to allow an easy and natural delivery. (Holy crud we thought we would need to get the poor sire a step stool to get to her! LOL) I KNOW all the risks, I KNOW all the signs, I KNOW that a million things can and will go wrong. Have we covered it all for the buttheads of YAnswers to keep their mouths shut??? I sincerely doubt it! I am only looking to hear from compassionate people that want to help ME emotionally as I worry about my ONLY female through her first and ONLY whelping. I have a nursing degree and a LOT of experience with human baby births, but my only human female baby has yet to go through this and I am a worried momma. I did all the research and I did everything right, and I know there will still be some idiots among you that will still want to talk smack to me no matter what I have to say. My female (Yahoo will censor me if I use the word *****, so lay off that one girls!), is from AKC champion bloodlines, as is the sire. I am prepared both emotionally (as much as I can be) and financially for emergency or tragedy. I am taking her temperature every 12 hours right now, and will increase frequency tomorrow. She is on puppy food, she has a whelping box, I have all of the supplies at hand and I have the vet's CELL number on my bulletin board and his office is less than 2 miles from my front door. I just need a kind word and any advice beyond what I have mentioned. I have a good mentor, but she's kind of a meanie that doesn't offer a hand to hold, if you know what I mean. I just want to hear from COMPASSIONATE individuals that can offer some advice that I haven't heard.

My son has an XBOX 360 and wants to run XBOX Live on it, but there is ALWAYS a family member on the home computer using the internet. I know I need to purchase an accessory that allows us to do this, but I am not altogether sure what that accessory might be. I looked on Amazon for a "splitter" and found a lot of them, but then I have also seen a "hub". But when I read the descriptions of some of the splitters they say "one at a time", meaning you can't run both at once. Is there something I can purchase that will allow us to run both at once? Or do I need to talk to my internet provider? Any advice is welcome.

I have been hearing a lot about how IE isn't as great as other browsers, and that it allows more viruses and whatnot into your computer. But I am worried about ease of use, losing my favorites list and other inconveniences. HELP???

My family and I use our computer to browse the web numerous hours a day, pay bills, talk to friends etc. Plus my partner is retired and likes to play fairly large file computer games (Sometimes larger than 150 MB). I was hoping to get something with a processor equal to a Pentium 4, but know nothing about this. And the new video card seems to be a MAJOR plus for gaming.

Please don't start in on the lecture and yelling about being irresponsible when breeding. I am here to ask for some real and serious advice. I have been all over the internet and local papers looking for a suitable breeder to "mentor" me, and no dice. I also don't trust books since any yahoo can get a book published if they can write a book and a check to pay for the first run!

I have a beautiful, wonderful temperament cinnamone apple head. She is not your typical Chihuahua. She is sweet tempered, not "barky" or "yappy" and has never bitten anyone. She is so gorgeous and is just the apple of our eye and we so very badly want a puppy out of our spoiled little darling.

I am afraid that she may not ever be a mommy. Our vet seems potimistic. But... she is nearly 4 years old and has only ever come into heat 3 times, 4 if you count the one she is starting now. I have noticed in the last week she has been sort of shy and not herself. And today she started menstruating. She is AKC and we do have a potential mate, a much smaller male from small parents with tiny siblings and cousins, who is also AKC, whom we would like to consider as a mate for her.

Please, no berating or cutting us down. We are seriously trying to do this right. If you would like to offer to mentor us and/or offer sound advice, your responses would be much welcomed.

Is this something I have to purchase? I bought a used computer from a friend and apparently it's a dinosaur. Most of the games I want to play require Direct X 8 or better. Is this something I can download for free? I've already sunk a ton of money into this thing and I don't want to put too much more into it. What do I do? Is there a REAL free download to update the driver?? HELP!!!

I adopted a 8-9 year old HP Pavilion 7955 from a friend. It has been VERY gently used, barely used for 4-5 years of its lifespan and it was not used at all for the last 3 years. It works, but it is sooooo SLOW! The internet takes up to 3-5 minutes to launch, documents take forever to open, and surfing takes forever! But a speed test on my internet shows it is not due to my ISP. The computer only has 256mg of RAM. We like to play online video games, but most of them won't work because it ways there isn't enough virtual memory. Well, you can only get so much virtual memory out of 256mg. LOL

I can get 2 X 512 memory cards locally, but the guy is telling me that I might not see any difference in speed because the registry may need to be cleaned. And OF COURSE he can do it for a fee. But I have a tech, I am just not prepared to take it in right now.

I have already done a dick cleanup, Windows One Clean, disk defrag... all of the available downloads have been run and I have good Malware protection and I run the scans regularly.

So, should I purchase the memory and install it? Will it help me at all? What differences can I expect?

I think my partner accidentally hit a vein while injecting 34 IU glargine just now. How long is she in danger of overdose before we know for sure she didn't inject directly into a vein???

I have some questions about Lantus (Glargine) insulin use with other blood glucose lowering agents. I read through the Lantus website, and through their FDA information that dosage can range from 2-100 IU per day. Starting with 10 IU once daily, then raising the dosage once per week according to a sliding scale by glucose level (+8 IU >180 mg/dL; +6 IU >140 mg/dL and so on...). In this case, the insulin was prescribed for use with Avandia, which we are stopping now bc the Avandia drug info says NOT to mix the two. So, back to the Metformin.

And just FYI so nobody freaks out... this IS being supervised by a physician with my help. I am an RN trying to help a friend learn about her diabetes and how to control it. Her glucose levels are consistenely above 300 right now! Yesterday she was taking 10 IU Lantus and 8 mg Avandia. Today she started taking 18 IU Lantus once daily and 1000 mg Metformin twice daily.

Now for the questions...

How much Lantus do you use?

How did you titrate it and how often?

What other diabetic meds are you taking and how much?

How were your glucose levels affected by the Lantus and meds?

Other than diet and exercise, is there any uselfull advice you would like to offer?

Have you ever used Byetta?

What happened?

My ex husband has had the Attorney General take me back to court over back child support. I received a letter saying they have filed a "Motion to Revoke Probation".

We went to court 18 months ago to add extra money to my payments to cover some payments I had missed, and I paid it so when we went back 6 months later, they said everything was fine, I was in compliance. But they also put me on probation the first court date, just saying that I had to pay on time each month.

Well since then I have missed some payments due to the fact that one of the kids now lives with me, and I called the AG office to tell them that when she moved in 7 months ago. Now they are trying to revoke my probation. Can't I get a court appointed lawyer? How do I apply for one? They can't send me to jail without giving me a lawyer right?

I have 2 wonderfu,l adorable, VERY hard to care for gliders! I tell you, they are an obsession! LOL

A member of one of my forums has her pet glider up for pet of the week in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. Would some of you please go to this website and vote for Esther??? She takes in rescue gliders and if she wins this may be a chance to give people some information on caring for these lively little creatures. People adopting gliders with little or no knowledge about their care and feeding can lead to illness and even death, so this little contest could be for the good of many gliders in the DFW area.

I just read an article about Palin's church that supports that theory of "pray away gay"! Add that to no gay marriage or same sex partner benefits, taking away a woman's right to choose, her pregnant teenage daughter (Now THAT'S a role model we need for our kids!) and what do you end up with???

A friend of mine was recently terminated form her job in a correctional facility in Oklahoma. She never had any action in her disciplinary folder, never had complaints, no warning, they just fired her! And they refuse to tell her why! Can they do that? WHat is she supposed to tell potential employers? How can she file for unemployment without a reason for termination??? Makes no sense! Can they do that???

My daughter will be 17 in less than 2 months. She is "going out" with a guy that just turned 19. She is responsible and very smart. Plus I am VERY strict! I do not allow them to be here together when I am not home, I try to make sure there is a parent at whatever house they are "hanging out" at, he does not have a car so they don't go anywhere alone (I wouldn't allow it even if they did since she doesn't have a license herself!) All they ever do is hang out with friends watching movies, go swimming at our apartment pool, hang around my living room and play video games, cruise around with another couple (one of her girl friends has a car), go to the skate park and go to the movies, etc...

I got a call from my ex husband a minute ago telling me he was pressing criminal charges against me for allowing her to date the guy! Can he do that??? Does he have a leg to stand on at all??? My ex was the one that allowed her to spend the entire Spring break at her old boyfriend's house!!! And his parents weren't even home all the time!!!

What do I do??? Should I be worried???

My firewall detected that one of my Windows components was corrupted. So, thinking I could just fix it myself.... I was going to delete the components that I do not use in order to cut down the risk. Well, the "check" boxes were reversed. I actually deleted my internet explorer before I could stop the process!!! I have to go through start, then search in order to launch the internet. How can I restore my internet explorer icon without having to take the computer to my tech guy???
