How can you celebrate Thanksgiving without Smallpox?
Seriously... it's kinda a big part of the holiday...
1 AnswerThanksgiving9 years agoYour opinion on colloquial use of the word 'F----t' (it rhymes with maggot)...?
My opinion of the word is very similar to that which is expressed in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-otAJrtY-w
(I have several gay friends who actually find this clip hilarious).
That out of the way; I was recently hanging out at a bar in the French Quarter and colloquially said '******' and a girl who overheard jumped down my throat, accusing me of being a homophobe (as far as I am aware, she wasn't gay or tied to the gay community at all, just nosy and whiney) - unfortunately I was not in the company of any of my gay friends at the time, which would have made my life MUCH easier. Anyhow, I guess what I am saying is that if words mean only what we intend them to, then is there really a problem with saying this in such a context?
4 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender9 years agowhy do protestants, when claiming that catholics are 'non-christian'...?
...not realize that it makes far more sense for a catholic to proclaim a protestant as non-christian based upon the fact that the catholic tradition was original and protestantism emerged far later and included aspects that are not actually present in the bible?
Important note: I am not grinding an axe, I am an atheist, I am just curious to this line of thinking as it seems illogical to me.
