  • Can you recommend a good laptop?

Recently the best computer I've ever owned, a 2004 Gateway M360 laptop, died. I'm looking to buy another one...

I have about $500 to $600 and I need something that is fast, gets the job done, will run for at least 5 years like my last one...

I'd like a pretty good graphics card... but I know that's more money.

I'd prefer not to buy an HP... I really don't like some of the glitches I've found in them...

    just looking for recommendations...

    Thanks.

  • A question about the greater good....?

    Okay...

try this one on for size...

Someone you trust walks up to you and says that if you kill so-and-so (so-and-so happens to be someone you love very much) Aids will be cured and hunger all over the world will be abated...

    what do you do?

Kill someone you love for the greater good?

    or

Let that person you love live and let AIDS and Hunger continue to run rampant?

(This is all hypothetical... so just let me know what you think!)

  • Would you forgive or seek justice?

After the Holocaust there was a man who became a famous Nazi hunter named Simon Wiesenthal. He brought down people like The Gestapo who arrested Anne Frank, Adolf Eichmann the man you planned the logistical aspects of the concentration camps, and Franz Strangl who was in charge of camps that killed more than 1.5 million jewish people. One day Simon Wiesenthal found himself sitting the hospital room of a dying S.S. Officer. He was supposed to sit in the room until the S.S. Officer died. The Officer realizing that he was dying and being eaten alive by his guilt started confessing all of the things that he had done in the camps to Mr. Wiesenthal. The Officer kept saying that he wished he could speak to a jewish person so that he could apologize and seek forgiveness. Mr. Wiesenthal told the Officer that he was Jewish and that he was not going to forgive the the Officer because he had personally lost 86 members of his family to the Holocaust as well as 6 million people killed in the Concentration camps.

Years later, Simon Wiesenthal felt guilt over refusing to forgive the S.S. Officer. He sent a letter to all the people he had meet in his years as a Nazi Hunter. Scientists, world leaders, religious leaders, everyday people... and asked them the same questions I am asking you right now...

Did Simon Wiesenthal do the right thing by refusing to forgive the S.S. Officer?

    and

What would you do in his situation?

Please be respectful of one anthers answers! This is a personal and emotional question.

  • I need some good Legal advice...Please?

At the end of Feb. I was in a car accident. I wasn't driving...my friend was. Everyone was okay...accept me. I damaged my wrist and have been out of work since. I am handeling my friends insurance company and all of that but I'm on medical leave where I work.

Lately my boss has been calling me asking when I'm coming back to work. Telling me she doesn't want any misunderstandings...and saying things like

"Has HR told you how many more days you can take off?"

Frankly, I'm afraid that I'll get back to work for a few days and they will fire me over this. As it is I feel pressured to return to work, even thought my Doctor has explicitly told me I can't.

I have NO idea what to do...

    any advice?

I know I should go talk to a lawyer who works on comission, but I'm a worry wart...and I hate making waves so this is hard enough for me as it is. I just want things resolved and I want to go back to work without their crap.

  • Bourne Supremacy...?

    okay...

Did anyone else think that the camera was super shakey through out the whole movie? I found myself getting sick watching the movie. I understand that they had a stunt camera man for parts and that some of the scenes need that extra camera shake to make the more suspensful...but why so much??

  • HELP!! Vet Help Needed!!!?

Okay... The family Dog ( a medium sized mixed race 7 month old) found a tube of silicone adhesive. I was out of the room and I have no idea how long he was chewing and licking on it. I took it away from him and gave him a ton of water. He drank a lot and he seems to be okay now...but is there anything else I can do...

P.S. I know I should take him to the Vet but I have none of his info, no money, and I can't find a Vet in my area who can take him until tomorrow at the soonest.
