  • What is the best way to get credit card rewards points for paying my mortgage?

My mortgage company will not take any kind of cards for payment.

Is there any BillPay service that can pay my mortgage (and other monthly bills) while I use my credit card for the service?

Of course, I will pay my credit card balance every month.

    Thanks!

  • Does anyone who lives in the Atlanta area know where I can get 35mm film developed?

I still like to use my old cameras that take old school film, but it seems that no one processes film anymore :(

I used to go to Wolf Camera in Tucker, but it closed down. If anyone can tell me a place that currently processes film in Lilburn, Tucker, Snellville, Stone Mountain, Decatur, I will be very grateful!

    Thanks!

  • Is foreclosure possible if a charged off HELOC is paid up? No one will tell me!?

My brother took out a HELOC ten years ago on some family property. I found out recently that his account had been delinquent and eventually his credit union charged off the loan. Is it possible for his credit union to foreclose the property? They won't give me any information because my name is not on the loan (only my brother's name is on the note, and at this point we're kind of estranged). They informed me the account was charged off any for any further questions told me only to contact a certain law office. Of course when I call the law offices, they won't tell me anything because my I'm not a party. If my parents go ahead and give him the money to bring the account current, is it still possible for the property to be foreclosed??

  • What happened to my electricity?

This evening, the electricity went out in my living room, foyer, and front porch. I only had a floor lamp and a space heater turned on in the living room. Then I plugged in a vacuum, and after about one minute of vacuuming, bam! No power in the living room. And, I discovered the lights also won't come on in the foyer nor outside on the porch. These are all adjacent areas. There is power everywhere else in the house. I have an outlet tester. When I plug it in to the outlets in the living room, nothing lights up on the tester (open hot).

I'd rather not pay hundreds of dollars to have some electrician come out here if the solution is as easy as flipping a switch somewhere. I just can't afford it right now. Does anyone know?

  • Will a car loan that is paid off within one or two months immediately increase my credit score?

Hello YA experts! I have been planning to buy a my first house this summer. Just when I've researched the initial steps and realize I need to get a pre-approval letter, BAM! I was rear-ended, and my car is declared a total loss. Now I have to get another car. I will buy one within the next two weeks, and I'll have enough money from the insurance claim to not need a loan. My question is would an auto loan that is paid off within one or two months help my credit score? or is it not worth the trouble at all? I was just wondering if there was any opportunity to help my credit history with the car purchase so that I can get a better deal on a mortgage. I did have a five-year auto loan in the past that was paid off successfully.

  • where do black people live in san diego county?

I've always wanted to live in San Diego after visiting many years ago and finding it so beautiful. Not to mention, it probably has the best weather in the USA after Hawaii! So I've started looking at where to buy a house out there by researching which areas have the best school systems, and I've noticed in the demographics all of these areas seem to have a population of 4% or less black/african-american.

I have two small children, and I'm not crazy about them being the only black kid in the class. Are there any areas that have more black folks and also decent schools?

    Thanks!

  • How do I upgrade my operating system? I have a mac PowerPC (not intel)?

Sorry, but I've never upgraded my operating system before, and I'm not really that tech savvy. I have OS X 10.4.11 and I only use my computer for basic internet, documents, storing photos and music. So, for example, I'm finding that I'm not able to download the latest software like adobe, and I can't open some word files like .docx files. Is upgrading my operating system (and also the latest MS Office for Mac) something that I can do easily? or do I need to take my laptop to a professional service center? Will l lose my documents/photos/music when I put a new operating system in? I'm also wondering would it be cheaper to just buy a used Mac laptop that already has a later OS?

    Thanks in advance!

  • which dvd burner works for copyrighted VHS movies?

I have boxes of VHS movies bought over the years. I want to watch them, but I don't have a working VHS player. I want to convert them to DVD also to save space. I'll then donate the VHS tapes to goodwill. The DVD's would be for personal use, not for profit. I'd rather not do it through my computer which crashes doing anything that takes too much memory... Since I would need to buy some kind of VHS player no matter what, I'm wondering if there might be a combo VHS player DVD burner unit that doesn't care about copyright? Does anybody know?

  • Have you ever had something spilled on your laminate floor? Did it ruin your floor? Which brand floor?

I'm considering getting laminate for my kitchen and dining room floor. I've never had laminate before. I read online about how one little spill can ruin/warp the floor. But is it only certain brands that are crappy? and there better brands that won't be damaged by a drink being spilled on it?

Please let me know which brands you have that warped so I can avoid those.

And if you have spilled stuff on your floor without it affecting the floor, please tell me which brand so I can consider those.

    thanks!

  • Is there a cell phone that has GPS function without using internet? I have T-Mobile?

In other words, is there a phone that I can use GPS without paying extra (for web browsing)? I have T-Mobile, but would consider switching to Sprint for the right phone.

  • Any plumbers out there? I hear rain in my bathroom...?

I don't see anything, but I hear light rain falling. My bathroom ceiling and wall seem fine, but when I put my ear against the wall next to the toilet, it sounds just like some drizzling rain falling on a puddle! I immediately called my upstairs neighbor to ask if her toilet is leaking, and she said no. Or rather, she said "Well, there's no water on the floor, and I gotta go to work. Click." So, what could this be?? Hoping to get some free advice since plumbers here charge $150 just for coming out not including repairs. We both own the condos we live in.

  • Which uses less energy and/or is better for the environment - a gas oven or an electronic toaster oven?

Isn't it better to use gas than electricity? I have a standard size gas oven that I turn on just to make toast sometimes. When I'm heating up that whole oven just to warm up one slice of pizza or one piece of pie, I wonder if a little toaster oven would be better.

  • Do I have to take out loan to buyout the co-owner (my brother) of the condo I'm living in?

He insists that the fair thing to do is for me to pay him his half of the appraised value of the condo or else pay him half of the rental value of the condo each month. Do you agree? My grandmother left this condo to us. When he was living in it, I made no complaints or demands. In fact, I did not block him from getting a HELOC which was probably around half the current market value of the condo. I am on the deed but not on that loan. Suddenly, he is demanding money from me. If his lender has a lien on the property, why should I pay my brother? Is it fair for me to buy him out when he has this loan outstanding? Do I have to pay him anything at all legally or ethically? Please help!

  • How do you choose the best, most durable stoneware?

I have had plates and bowls of different brands. Over the years, they all chip and crack. Before I buy some more dinnerware, I am hoping to get some advice on how to tell a good set that will be non-chip, if that exists. What is the best brand that is least likely to crack?

    Thanks

  • Which is healthier rice or potatoes?

I'm not asking about calories. I'm not trying to lose weight. I just want to know about nutritional value. I didn't like potatoes much until I was pregnant, when I craved them all the time. My co-worker told me this is because potatoes have more nutrient content. Is this true? You can compare plain rice to plain potato. Thanks

  • Where can I get the best prices on mattresses in the Atlanta area?

I need to buy two full mattresses for my twins' new beds. Is there any outlet store? I lived in DC for fifteen years - there was a store that sold previously used (sanitized) hotel mattresses for cheap. Anything like that in ATL?

  • What activities are there in Antigua for small children?

I'm going to Antigua with two 3 yr olds. I haven't been there before. Does anyone recommend something for little kids? I'm going to be staying in Jolly Harbour area. How do I go to a local market? Is it worth renting a car? Or is it easy to get around with the children using public transportation? Thanks!

  • I'm confused about the bailout. Won't printing all this money increase inflation tremendously?

Last I heard, the country's deficit keeps getting bigger and bigger every year. So, where are going to get money for this bailout, not to mention money to continue blowing on Iraq? Is the US going to borrow money from China or Britain or something? Or, are we just gonna print more? Won't printing $700 billion cause outrageous inflation? So then Isn't the bailout just changing who pays? The bailout just shifts the losses across millions of innocents instead of the few guilty speculators. It doesn't seem necessary, just extending the potential for disaster.
