  • Complex Analysis?

    By writing z +1 + i = (z−2i) + (1+3i), prove that, for {z: 1 ≤ |z−2i| < 3},

    −3+√10 < |z +1 + i| < 3+√10.

    Any ideas?

  • Speed Cameras and Prosecution for Speeding?

When you get photographed speeding you receive a NOTICE OF INTENTION TO PROSECUTE which you can either admit to or give the name of the person driving your car at the time. They then receive exactly the same letter. My question is therefore this:

If I wait 27 days and send off the letter saying it was person "A" who was driving; they receive letter and send it 27 days later saying it was person "B" driving, and so on ... at what point would the police stop issuing letters and revert to the registered keeper?

Could this continue for over a year (maybe 11 letters) and thereby no longer be able to prosecute?

Just a thought!!! Please answer within 26 days! ;o)

  • Kitten names.?

Ok - black and white tiny ball of fluff and razor-wire called Oscar goes to the vet for jabs only to find out that he won't need neutering as said kitty is a she-kitty!! So do we keep the somewhat masculine name "Oscar", change it to something similar or just pick a completely new name.

  • In the UK: A bag of Walker's Ready Salted crisps now have less salt than a slice of wholemeal bread? WHY???

Anyone worried about exacerbating hypertension can simply avoid "ready salted" crisps - they have salt in them! (Clue is in the name) - but to market "Ready Salted" crisps as "now lower salt" is ridiculous! Some of us like salt in our food. Likewise New Lower Sugar "Sugar Puffs"!!! Again, if you're concerned about the level of sugar in your cereal, buy some Shredded Wheat or something, but leave us with some food with a shred of tastiness, please.

So rant over, back to the question - I welcome heartliy all attempts by food manufacturers to make healthier foodstuffs and reduce obesity, but is this not taking things a bit far?
