  • steam mop and unglazed tiles?

I just bought the Shark steam mop and was all excited until I saw where it said "not for use on unglazed tile". Now, I am not a 100% sure whether we have unglazed or glazed but I am leaning towards unglazed. I don't really understand why it said not to use on this type of tile, since our tile is pretty durable and even other sites say to steam unglazed tiles to get the stains out. I don't have any problems cleaning my tile so maybe it is glazed...does anyone know any info on why I can't use this mop or has steam cleaned their unglazed floors?

  • When it comes time to deliver and having visitors to stay?

I am only 12 weeks now, but the other day I nonchalantly said to my husband that I don't want to have visitors over for a few days after I have the baby. My mom lives far from us and might be able to be there for the birth and I am fine with her coming to stay since she is my mom and from past experience with my niece and nephew, she is the type to stay out of the way unless I ask for help. If she does not come, then I want a few days to rest heal and get used to a routine of having a baby and to bond as a family. We also have two German Shepherds that are going to need to get used to having a baby around the house too! Well, My husband doesn't agree with me on this issue. He wants his mom there right from the hospital to help out with things and stay for a few days or a week. He told me this wasn't about me and implied I was being selfish to think that way. Don't get me wrong and please don't bash my husband...I just don't think he understands what it is like to grow a human being! Am I being selfish? Did anyone else have to deal with something like this? Any advice would be great!

  • Shipping a POV from Europe to Dallas?

Has anyone had a POV shipped from Europe to the Dallas VPC recently? I was wondering how long it took to get to Dallas. It has been about five weeks and the "where is my POV" website has not updated since it left. My household goods have made it already, but I am being curious what is taking so long with my car! Thanks!

  • Thoughts about the election...?

I am sure that in some places in America white people voted for McCain because Obama is black, which I agree is wrong, however do you believe it is also wrong to vote for someone because they are black and without regards to what the candidates stand for? I believe this in itself is a form of racism and I wonder have we really come that far? What do you think about this whole issue?

  • new contact lens help?

I now have contacts for the first time and I am not quite sure if what I am experiencing is normal. They physically don't hurt at all and I can't even tell at all that I have them in. However, I am not sure how I am supposed to be seeing. Yesterday (my first day), I could only have them in for two hours because I got a headache. Today, no headache yet, but sometimes I can see real clear and other times really blurry. I kind of have that feeling when you first get a new pair of glasses and the ground appears distorted. What do people mean when they say you need to get used to wearing contacts? Does it mean getting used to them physically or getting used to seeing out of them? I guess what I am trying to get at is I am not sure if the prescription is correct or seeing all funky at first is normal...any help and experiences are much appreciated.

  • How do I get rid of my spider problem?

I am originally from Massachusetts and now I live in Germany. This May, when it got warm, I came home one night to find the largest spider I had ever seen in person on my wall. I am terrified of spiders and have had to deal with them all summer almost daily. It is to the point where I leave the porch light on in hopes it deters them a little, because they don't seem to like the light and I end up checking my house every night before I can go to bed. I have set foggers off in the basement and have a can of Raid household and Garden on hand.

Is there anything else I might try to keep them as few as possible?
