  • spelling of Elliott with surname Scott?

My husband and I are about to have a baby - we don't actually know if it is a boy or girl yet!! But if it is a boy this is the name we have chosen. But we keep going round in circles about whether to spell it

    Elliot Scott or Elliott Scott.

Is Elliott Scott too many tt's? Or is it better because it will be easy for people to remember the spelling if it is tt and tt in the first name and surname?

    Opinions please!

PS I am 39 weeks pregnant so please hurry lol!

  • if you delete videos off your mobile is there any way of restoring them or getting them back?

I am devastated as I was using NOKIA PC SUITE which I am very new to using and I THOUGHT I was looking at all my video clips off my mobile SAVED onto my pc, so I thought I could safely delete them off my mobile - but I hadn't saved them at all it seems as they have all gone. Presumably for good but I just wondered if there is any way of getting them back? Could Nokia or my service provider O2 help? They are all the videos of my baby daughter from when she was born til now, 18 months later. PLEASE help if you can.

  • Best electric breast pump and why?

    Hi,

I am going to have my baby in about 10 weeks and am looking at breast pumps as I intend to breast feed and express also. I have looked at breast pumps and want to use an electric one as it is meant to be quicker and more efficient - but don't know which one to buy. I'm currently looking at the Avent IQ Isis Uno for about £80 and the Medela Swing Pump for about £80.

Can you tell me if you have tried either and if so what you think of them? I really don't want to spend that sort of money only to find perhaps I should have gone for a different one!

    Thank you v much.

  • dangers of eating peanut butter in second trimester???

I have been eating peanut butter sandwiches for lunch at work almost every day for the last two weeks as it was the only thing I could stomach to eat for a while - I am in week 19 of my first pregnancy so am in the second trimester - I am now really worried about whether I will have given my baby a peanut allergy, I thought it was ok as my sister's midwife told her that as long as you had no PEANUT allergy in your or your partner's family then it was ok to eat peanuts - but more recently I have read that if you have a history of exema or hayfever than this can mean your baby may still get an allergy to peanuts. MY question is, I have also heard that it is the third trimester and breastfeeding where it is a real problem and should be ok in the second trimester - can anyone advise me? :-/

  • Paying council tax in 'multiple occupation' property??

    Hi

I have read in the Council Tax Explanatory Notes booklet in the Section 'Who has to pay council tax' that in a situation where a property is a house in multiple occupation, where the occupiers have seperate rent agreements and pay individual rents to their landlord, that the LANDLORD has to pay the council tax - is this correct?

As if it is, I should not have to pay my council tax, my landlord should!

  • if you are a twin does it mean you are any more or less likely to have twins yourself?

I am one of identical twins and pregant - and my mum is convinced I might have twins :)

There may be no scientific basis for this at all but just interested as I'd always heard twins normally missed a generation (ie my kids more likely to have twins!)

I am definitely eating more and only in week 5 or 6 - I am trying to eat healthy if snacking more but I am worried that I shouldn't eat so much as I don't want to put on loads more weight than I need to!. What did you do when you were preg? This is my first pregnancy :)

  • Is it true that your first child will often look more like it's father than it's mother?

I think this is often the case, looking at families I know, I always think it must be due to genetics/nature, father passing down his strongest genes, so it's obvious to others it's his offspring - but is this just an idea of mine or has it any scientific basis?

  • Why do doctors use LMP to age baby when this is 2 wks BEFORE I ovulated and conceived?

my LMP was 26.02.08 and I def ovulated 12.03.08 and my EDD date is 5.12.08 - so I think the doctors would say I am 5 weeks gone??? BUT it doesn't make sense to me because surely really the baby is only 3 weeks old.. So when I get to 12 weeks (end of first trimester) is that 12 weeks from LMP??

I wish I was further than 5 weeks as it's dragging til I can tell people, but hey! Also I want to be out of the risky trimester really and have the all clear and hear the heart beat.

    Thanks x

  • Is the time you have your 12 week scan based on gestational age or fetal age?

As I understand these two ways of dating a pregnancy are about 2 weeks different to each other and I just wondered which method is used by doctors/midwives in relation to when you have your first trimester scan?

Also important as I want to tell people after 12 weeks - but not sure if I should count 12 weeks going by gestational or fetal age?

  • My Dad has been diagnosed with an aggressive prostate cancer and I am really worried?

My Dad is 66 this June and was diagnosed just before Christmas. I have read about different treatments and the fact that men can live with prostate cancer for a long time. He is already on hormone therapy and will start radiotherpay soon. He has results of MRI and bone scans this week. I am so dreading the results.

But I can't seem to find anything that says how long a man is likey to live if the tumour has grown beyond the edge of the prostate, and therefore can't be cured with either radiation or surgery.

I know that they can be treated with hormones that slow the cancer's growth.. but is this likely to give my dad months or years or what?

Please give me some hope - or if not - be honest. Thanks .

  • Weepy left eye?

My left eye is prone to being really weepy, like if I am out in the wind or if I go on holiday and sit in the sun (even with shades) it is like it gets burnt(?) or really sore from maybe the sea air, or the sun or.. I don't know what really.. Perhaps allergies abroad to different things than in UK? I don't know why and also don't know what I can do about it - any ideas on either?

  • I feel like I am copying?

I have a twin sister and we often end up in the same clothes (by accident - we buy the same things without realising as we have such similar tastes or sometimes we see something the other is wearing and think I have to own that and go and buy it!) and she has longer hair than me (mine is in a bob) and she has a side fringe, I think it looks gorgoeus and now I really want a side fringe too in my hair but I'm concerned she'll think I am copying her and might feel I'm sort of cramping her style, what do you think should I get it cut anyway, not get it cut or just wait a while and then get it done so it doesn't seem like I am instantly copying her style?
