  • Combine OTA antenna signal with broadband cable through coaxial?

I'd like to cut cable and go with an outside antenna. I'd like to use the existing coax running through the house to deliver the signal. I will still have broadband cable delivered through the same coax. Is it possible to combine both signals using a diplexer? I'm assuming if I cancel the digital cable TV the channels will not come to the house and interfere with the antenna. Will the OTA signal get messed up with comcast cable modem signal coming in?

  • Questions about a french drain...?

I have a basement window well on the side of my house that has settled a little lower than the surrounding yard. During a heavy rain or snow melt the water will collect in the well and eventually seep through the window into the unfinished basement. It's a raised floor with sump pump but it usually dampens the floor around the window.

What type of contractor would I call that could either fix the landscape or install a french drain? About how much does this typically cost? Ideally I'd like the well replaced (it's rusted pretty bad) so that it sits a little higher with a little better protection against pooling water against the side of the house.

What type of contractor? Approximate cost? Tips?

    Thanks!

  • How do I fix a slow draining toilet?

My son's toilet was clogged and I think a wet wipe or something went into the siphon while unclogging it. I've ran a snake down the drain and everything seems to be working ok except for the siphon that shoots water into the drain. There doesn't seem to be any flow from the siphon. I've tried fishing it with wire but nothing. What to do or try? Or do I need to call a plumber?
