2 AnswersLanguages4 years agoPlease help me to define the poem. How is the poem a pastoral and from narrator, what is the view or message given in that poem?
The Quiet Life
by Alexander Pope (1688-1744)
Read by Samuel West
Happy the man whose wish and care
A few paternal acres bound,
Content to breathe his native air
In his own ground.
Whose herds with milk, whose fields with bread,
Whose flocks supply him with attire;
Whose trees in summer yield him shade,
In winter fire.
Blest who can unconcern’dly find
Hours, days, and years slide soft away
In health of body, peace of mind,
Quiet by day,
Sound sleep by night; study and ease
Together mixt, sweet recreation,
And innocence, which most does please
With meditation.
Thus let me live, unseen, unknown;
Thus unlamented let me die;
Steal from the world, and not a stone
Tell where I lie.

The sheltering sky
Knows not what is to come,
But what is.
The blazing sun
Lights all that is,
But cannot reach what is not.
The rain from the heavens
Quenches the thirst of all living creatures,
But cannot satisfy those who have not yet came into being.
All of nature lives in the present
And knows naught of the future,
For the present is all that is real
And the future is but a shadow of what is to come.

6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality5 years agoI don't understand physics?
My math skills is ok I think . Currently I'm taking cal 3 class and college physics 1.but physics class is totally different with math. First, I don't well-understanding to solving a problem, i just know the formula and use the data that the problem gave us to fit in the formula. Whenever the question change little bit , I wouldn't know how to do it. And I'm so confused about the elements such as velocity, acceleration and average of velocity and acceleration. Whenever I get in my physics class I'm feeling like I enter another world. Did I miss some class that teach basic physics? I don't mean I didn't learn anything from my physics class, but im just saying like... I don't know how to describe. Sigh
