  • Limit approaching negative infinity?

    f(x)=(3x^3 +8) / ((4x^3) + (square root of 64x^6 +3))

    a) find the limit as x approaches positive infinity:

    after simplifying I got

    (3+0)/(4+ square root of 64 +0)= 3/12= 1/4

    b) find the limit as x approaches NEGATIVE infinity:

The answer is -3/4 but I need someone to break down the steps of how they arrived at that answer please.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Has anyone dated a fireman?

Just wondering if anyone can give a little insight.

I've been talking to this guy for a little over a month or two now. I don't know much about firemen. He doesn't live close so we only talk on the phone maybe once or twice a week, normally once we've gotten a bit deep into the conversation he has to go. I never really get the chance to ask about how he's scheduled because we always end up talking about more personal or fun things and then he has to go. He's said that because he's in a. Smaller community I'm able to talk to him for almost an hour or so but if he was in a larger area I'd probably only have about ten minutes on the phone with him

I'm not really stressing about the amount of time. I understand he chose a profession he loves and I respect his devotion. I just want to know if there is anyone that has been in this situation and is willing to help me get an idea of how often they may be free, do they come home often? I've heard many sleep at the fire station in shifts....just an overall idea of what I'm diving heart first into lol

    Thanks in advance.

  • How to upload a large file?

    Hey everyone :)

I need a way to send someone a really large file through computers. The file is too large for email and when I tried to reduce it the size was still not small enough. Is there anyway I can upload a file somewhere and password protect it maybe so that I can give someone the link to download it and not worry about anyone else downloading it? (Mainly a free way???) if anyone has any other ideas I'd greatly appreciate them also.

    Thanks in advance!

  • genetics huntingtons question?

Huntington's Disease is an autosomal dominant trait that is lethal in the homozygous condition. It is not lethal until the age of 35-50. A female, whose mother has Huntington's Disease, marries a man whose parents are genotypically normal. What is the probability that a child born to this couple will inherit the gene for Huntington's Disease.

I chose 50% and no matter how i work it that's still the answer i get, but the answer she has for the practice work is 25%. What am i doing wrong :\ ?

I assumed that HH or XX means dead Hh or Xx should be the daughter and hh or xx means normal

and the husband was hh or xY ...... when they cross i have half normal half huntingtons

If someone could please help me lol....my brain hurts -_-

  • How do I tell him I hate his career choice?

My boyfriend that I've known for 4 years and dated for 2 and a half ultimately wants his life career to be truck driver.....

He says he wants to be in state so he came come home to me but from what i can find....u only really make good money trucking when you go out of town a lot and get more mileage...not to sound like a gold digger but lets be real, we both have dreams of starting a life and a family together and i dont want to have to struggle with that after seeing the way both our families have struggled with finances. he recently moved to another state where he found a good job but he still wants to move back and pay for his trucking stuff.....

he never finished college which is where we met and he doesnt seem inclined to want to go back...I'm about to get my bachelors and then move on to a masters. he has his cdl license and forklift certification...he's a reallllly hard worker and I feel like he's selling himself short ( no offense to any truckers....but I personally never though of it as an actual long term career...but maybe I don't know enough about it) and it may or may not be selfish but i dont think i'd be okay alone in a house knowing he has to be gone for days at a time if he suddenly decides to be on the road more.

He's a real sweetheart and a gentleman but I admit I'm scared of him being in a career that will take him away from me for days or weeks at a time ALL THE TIME and I feel like that's all he's been choosing ( he wanted to be in the navy...didnt work out...wanted to be in the army...got sent back over a torn retina then decided to leave that alone.....moved to another state for a visit and stayed when he found a good paying job.....still wants to be a trucker)

I want to talk to him about this but I don't know how without making him feel bad or upset because he does seem to like the idea of trucking....how should approach this? He's understanding...but he's stubborn first .....Or should I just keep my mouth shut and suck it up? :(

Please no negative comments....I want to be able to have a respectful conversation with him ...thanks in advance

  • Are international students (excluding Canadians) admitted to U.S. dental schools?

    Hello everyone :)

So I've been trying to do my research on this. I'm an undergrad from the Caribbean trying to earn my bachelors so I'm already focusing on different dental schools.

My problem however is, from everything I've read it seems that international students aren't normally accepted to dental (or medical schools) unless they attend private schools, have completely outstanding gpas, or have already received an international d.m.d degree and then transfer into an "international dentist" program.

Does anyone know much about this that can help? I would like to know if international students are actually accepted on average with the normal( or average) gpa and dat scores (without including private schools).

Also if anyone knows of some schools could you please list some? I've seen posts from the past but they are 5+ years old.

    Thanks in advance everyone!

  • I'm feeling unsure about major?

I'm in school to be a dentist and I recently got my AA and now I'm an undergrad at another school. When I picked the major I picked it partly because I got tired of having to say I was undecided and I figured I like health care jobs and i like practical things working with my hands so this was a good fit. However my grades in the science department aren't the best (mostly C's and a few B's) and I've struggled with math taking precalc about 3 times finally getting a C. I'm starting to think that maybe I'm in the wrong major but for status reasons I'm not allowed to work different jobs and get an idea of what I'm good at. When I discuss switching majors my parents start off seeming to understand a little but slowly try to talk me out of switching. I would hate to have them paying out of state fees for the next possible 5 years (I'm a 22year old out of state female btw) only for me to realize I hate my career or for me to still be questioning my choice to the very end. Truth be told I feel like it could potentially be a career I like and obviously the pay would be worth it, but I study hard and the only classes I do poorly in are the ones I need to do well in and it's very frustrating. Has anyone out there been in a similar situation? ... I like helping people, i write in my spare time, i like working with computers and new technology, I like assembling things and working with my hands, I do like the idea of being in a health care environment, but I hate the idea things like accounting or sitting behind a desk in a cubicle all day filing paperwork the entire time, im not interested in something like psychology because i wouldnt know what successful careers i can achieve with it. (no offense to any psych majors). I like being able to move around but still make decent pay....any ideas? ...please dont be negative i really am feeling stressed about this ...thanks in advance everyone!

  • How to make my baby face more "mature looking"?

So I'm a 22 year old undergrad but everyone constantly mistakes me for a 15 year old.....I'm sure this will be flattering years from now but for right now it's down right frustrating. I'm pretty petite...big a/ small b cup...and a little over 5 feet. I don't know the first thing about make up but I shape my eyebrows and wear eyeshadow at most lol. I have fairly shoulder length hair but I'm thinking about getting a short cut with a bang that stops over my eyes and then to my chin. I feel like people don't really take me as seriously because I look like a baby ....does anyone have any tips on what I can do? Thanks in advance!

  • Ethnobotany and Ecology?

I'm picking out classes for my new school schedule and i want to make sure that i have a pretty "decent" first semester since it will set what my g.p.a will be. I'm thinking about having ethnobotany and ecology on my schedule, but i know nothing about the type of work that goes into studying for them. I've been told that ethnobotany is mostly a memorization class based heavily on plants, which would actually work in my favor if it is. I haven't heard any remarks about ecology yet. If anyone has taken any of these classes and could just tell me a little about how the class was for you I'd really appreciate it.

Please don't reply if you're not here to help and just want to be negative.

    Thanks in advance :)

  • Traveling on an f1 visa?

I'm receiving a new f1 visa for a new school soon and my class doesn't start until the 7th of January. I've read that if i travel on my f1 visa sooner than 30 days prior to my class start date i may not be allowed to. My 30 day period would be at the beginning of December and i had planned on traveling back in the beginning of November since i have to complete my orientation which is in mid November and i need 2 get my immunization paperwork submitted before the orientation. I have a regular traveling visa also.

Will i need to travel back to my home country after my orientation just to travel back to the U.S. on my f1 visa or will they just allow me to use my f1 visa since I'm traveling to take care of other things that will allow me to register for my class?

I'm transferring schools and going to the embassy to receive my new f1 visa soon and i recently got a new passport done. I already have a regular traveling visa in my old passport and it has not expired yet, but the old passport has a cancel stamp in it from when i got the new passport done. When i go to receive my f1 visa will they automatically transfer my other visa into my new book also or is there another process i must go through? Serious answers only please, thanks for any help given.

  • Undergrad application to ucf?

i'm filling out my online application for ucf and there's one section that says

"If you have taken or plan to take the following tests, enter the month and year of the latest exam date. You must provide official record of all test scores.

Do you plan to take AP, IB, AICE, or CLEP exams prior to attending UCF?"

I took a AP english exam in high school back in 2008. This may be a silly question to ask but i just want to make sure i don't screw up my application.

I'm not sure if people take AP courses in college also or if it's only high school so i was just wondering if my high school course fits what they meant and if i need to add it my application.

Main question: Do i add 2008 high school AP English to my application?

  • Schools that offer dental hygiene program and B.S. for dentistry?

I'm trying to find a school that offers a dental hygiene program but also has a program that lets u take classes towards your B.S. in general dentistry. I know that the DH program is a two year deal so most 2 year colleges would have it and not universities that offer the B.S. but i'm still curious to know if there is any place (preferably near Florida) that does this? I have been looking but i don't seem to have much luck yet. If any one can help i would really appreciate it.

  • Why do i have this pain in my breast?

so every now and then on and off for the past three days i keep getting this pain in the lower (or under) part of my left breast tissue...(it almost feels like a cramp if that makes sense)...I've felt around the area and i don't feel anything that would alarm me..but I'm just curious about why i keep getting this pain....this isn't the first time it's happened before though. Someone suggested it may be because my period is near? Does anyone know if this has anything to do with it or what may be causing this? Please only answer if you're seriously trying to help.

  • Should I Take A Ceramics Class?

I want to take a ceramics class as a "filler" class for credits..i have 2 other really hard classes (physics and chem) that i want to put my main focus on but ceramics would be the only class i have that day for about an hour and a half. I hear a lot of people saying the class is very easy but time consuming.

So really my question is just how time consuming is the class and does this mean outside of class time also?

my thesis statement is pretty much saying no matter what the problem is you shouldn't be ashamed to tell the full truth or the cause of the problem

(example 1- a man had excessive sex and caught a fever but neglected to tell his doctor about the cause of the fever to he was given the wrong cure, suffered for 15 days and died.

example 2- girl was raped for over 10 years ..when asked questions would lie or not tell the full truth and didn't tell the truth until she was badly beaten

example 3-? i cant find one more example or think of the third idea... can you guys please help me?)
