  • What is the best part of Florida to move to?

Currently, I'm 21 & thinking of moving to Florida within the next 5 years or so & ultimately starting a family there. The Dade-Broward-Palm Beach area is out of the picture. It's way too congested & cosmopolitan there- not to mention expensive. Forget the I-4 corridor, also. I would like to move to an area that's much less congested & semi-rural, but not in the boonies- preferably a smaller town with a sense of community. I'd prefer more conservative, family oriented, area. The Venice area is very nice, but it has gotten too built up, too rapidly in recent years- congested Citrus County is also nice, but I'd prefer to be within an hour of the beach. Right now I'm leaning towards: The Palm Coast- Flagler- Northern Volusia County area: Bigger properties in a larger community without seeming like a mega-city. & The Destin-Emerald Coast-Bay County area: love how family oriented the area is. Not too congested (most of the time, relative to other areas in Florida) I also love the Southern charm that the area has. Are there any other small towns in Florida with a sense of community & slower pace? & also place with not a lot of riff raff. MOST people in Florida seem very nice, but I know Florida's known for its riff raff.

  • Should I see another orthopedist?!?

Currently I’m 20 and I severely broke my arm around 5 months ago. I went to an orthopedist and he insisted that surgery wasn’t necessary and that I would heal with my arm casted. He put a full arm cast on me, from my fingers to my shoulder, and said come back in 6 weeks. 6 weeks came around I got another X-ray. he told me there was very little healing that took place, so he put me in another full arm cast and said come back in 8 weeks. During the next visit, he told me the same thing. It’s been cast after cast with this doctor for almost 6 MONTHS now!! A broken arm shouldn’t take this long to heal. Currently, my arm has gotten so skinny from the atrophy, it’s like a toothpick! Not to mention the foul smell that my cast gives off. The smell doesn’t bother me at all because I’m used to it but no one else can practically be in the same room as me! I’ve gotten so used to my cast that wearing it’s second nature to me now. Overall the cast doesn’t really bother me at the end of the day, as it’s pretty comfortable, so I don’t mind wearing it. However, I truly believe that I needed surgery in the first place and I’m not receiving the right treatment. My ortho keeps telling me that my arms eventually going to heal in a cast but I don’t see that happening. He’s refusing to take it off at all costs. I’m just worried about the long term effects of my arm being immobilized this long.

  • Is casting fractures less common today?

I’ve noticed that in the past 10 or so years, I’ve seen less and less people in public wearing permanent orthopedic hard-casts. More people seem to be using manufactured braces for fractures from what I’ve notices. Are fiberglass casts slowly being phased out?

  • Are shiny “dazzle” basketball shorts still in style?

Are they still considered part of mainstream fashion? Or are they considered clothes that are a little “funky” & draw attention? I’ve noticed they’re a little harder to come by at stores but I occasionally still see people wearing them

  • How long can you wear braces without seeing an orthodontist?

Currently my brother's 20, and he had to stop seeing the orthodontist because he wasn't paying his payments. He's been wearing braces for little over 2 years. However, his irresponsible self never went back to the orthodontist to have the braces removed. He figured he wanted to keep them on because his teeth are currently straight and he didn't want to undo his treatment which was almost over anyway. We also moved out of state too, and here my brother is- stuck with braces on.

Currently, the braces are just sitting on my brother's teeth, and he hasn't seen an orthodontist in about 4-5 or so months. My brother keeps saying "he'll get to it" when he gets the time and money to continue treatment- which won't be anytime soon. The braces on his teeth aren't bothering him at all, and he has great oral hygeine. Are there any dangers of keeping the braces on long term without seeing the orthodontist for a tune up?

  • What brands make good fitting button-up shirts for skinny men?

I’m 6’2”, & very skinny, & it seems like almost every button-up shirt, dressy or casual, that I own doesn’t fit me right. A size large is so baggy, it feels like a jacket. And size mediums aren’t long enough. What brands make good fitting button-up shirts for skinny men? I’ve noticed Nautica fits a little better

  • What can I do about my stinky cast?

I severely broke my arm around 6 weeks ago and I've been in a full arm cast since. Currently, my cast is so disgusting, its become unbearable for me & anyone in the same room as me. The smell is RAMPANT. However, I spoke to my orthopedist and he said that he cannot remove the cast for at least another 3-4 weeks because it is in a very critical position for healing. I almost feel like taking the cast off myself because its become so unbearable.

  • Are shiny “dazzle” basketball shorts still in style?

It seems like stores are selling less and less of them than they used to. Love the way they look and feel, but do they come across as “funky” in today’s fashion?

  • Hypothetically, what would happen if you never took braces off & stop seeing the orthodontist?

If braces were to be “left on”, would they damage the teeth, considering the person has good hygiene? Or would they eventually just fall off? Or would they just sit on the persons teeth forever, hypothetically speaking.

  • Why does New England vote Democrat despite being overwhelming white, wealthy, rural, and Catholic?

Don’t these factors traditionally favor Republican votes? Massachusetts and Vermont in particular. I’m aware that there ARE many urban parts as well as diverse parts of New England, but virtually every county votes democrat.

  • Can braces act as a retainer?

I'm currently 19 and have been wearing braces now for a little over a year now. This is my second time wearing braces. I first had them when I was 12 but never wore my retainer so my teeth shifted back. I am supposed to get braces removed in a couple of months. I always hated retainers, more so than braces. I never liked eating with a retainer in and taking it in and out to clean. Sometimes I would take it out and forget to put it back in. Bottom line- I dont want a retainer. Is it possible to simply keep my braces on longer as a way to retain the teeth? I don't mind wearing braces and I have excellent oral hygiene.
