For Jews Only -- -- How many Jews think the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, KS is Anti-Semitic?
I have been in a heated debate with a Jew who says she is "okay and supportive" of the Westboro Baptist Church, to her they are "prophets of God", and she does not think that they are Anti-Semitic.
I am just taking a poll of Jews to find out if the actions of the WBC are considered Anti-Semitic or not. I truly believe that the members of the WBC are Anti-Semitic and outright hateful to all people.
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAnyone else experience this.....?
I am 20 weeks along as of today.
And over the past two months, there are times during the week that I get the feeling that I am no longer pregnant. So far I have spent $20 on home pregnancy tests and each time they are positive -- but I just can't shake this feeling.
Is it just anxiety or should I be concerned about the baby?

I am an Evangelical Christian, who has been doing in depth studies of the Bible. It has recently come to my attention that a commonly used Bible verse to 'condemn' homosexuality has been misinterpreted.
In the book of Leviticus, chapter 18 and verse 22 the following was mistranslated:
* qadesh means a male temple prostitute who engaged in ritual sex; it is often mistranslated as “sodomite” or “homosexual.”
* to’ebah means a condemned foreign Pagan religious cult practice, but often translated as “abomination.”
Closer examination of the story of Sodom and Gomorrah reveals a disturbing concept - why would God ignore the fact that Lot offered his own daughters to the crowd? Conclusion to this can go one of two ways (1) God is evil when it comes to the sexual treatment of women or (2) this entire story had nothing to do with sexuality at all.
The first conclusion is beyond an acceptable one, so it can only be concluded that God destroyed those two cities because of their lack of charity to others and ignoring the needs of the poor. More evidence of this is found in Isaiah 1 -- Judah is compared to Sodom and Gomorrah, but there is no mention here of any type of depraved sexual act. Therefore, Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed for their continual lack of charity, care of the poor, rebellion against God, and other acts of violence toward people.
The book of Leviticus is actually a sort of "Holiness Code" for the Old Testament Israelite nation. It contains a list of 614 ethical and ritual laws which the people were commanded to obey. Today Christians only recognize 10 of them, commonly known as The Ten Commandments.
I also discovered that the word "homosexual" was not used until the year 1869 and was not "put into" the Bible until 1946. The people of the Biblical times did not have a concept of 'sexual orientation', that idea was born in the 19th century.
The clincher of this whole research process was the realization that Jesus Christ never one mentioned homosexual behavior.
Anyway, sorry to make this so long, but I felt that an explanation of the new information I have learned about the Bible was needed. I have in the past "accepted and acknowledged" that gays had a right to live their lives the way they want. But now, I feel it necessary to change my perspective of the LGBT community as a whole and embrace the idea that gay marriage is not a horrible thing, it will not destroy this nation and it is not "an abomination in the eyes of God, nor is it a sin".
The next time this issue is on my state ballot, I will not hesitate to vote For Gay Marriage.
10 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoThis is for Christians ------- Only .......................?
Due to a recent question that was asked, I as a "former" skeptic went searching for the answer and found something I never imagined. I don't know how to describe this event or exactly what happened 'inside me'. But now I do not know what to do....
I am nervous and a little frightened, while at the same time excited and happy. Basically, what I am trying to ask from Christians are these questions ---
How do I renounce Atheism and accept Christ as my savior?
And then what happens after that?
- I've been an Atheist all my life and I feel sort of lost. Please, do not treat this as a joking matter, this is a very serious issue for me.
42 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoI am confused about the *drinking game* rules?
Do you "earn" a drink based on the questions, on the questions 'they' ask; or both? Or can I just make up my own?
I know this may result in people *drinking* on my behalf. But, oh well, we only live once so go ahead - have one on me!
