  • Should varying religious views in families be exposed?

Let me clarify that: should an atheist in a Christian family tell his family that he is an atheist? Or should the Christian tell his atheist family that he believes in God? Or the Islamic one break the news to his Jehovah Witness family? So on and so forth.

I live in a very Christian family (my dad being a pastor), but made the personal decision that Christianity was not for me. It's been six years and I still haven't told my family, for I know what the outcome would be: they would be burdened. Stricken by the pain that their only son is destined for eternal damnation, they would spend countless hours praying and crying over me, trying to convince me that I have made the wrong choice. The last thing that I want to do is put that upon them, but I also know there is some solace in knowing the truth (at least for me anyway).

So I extend my question to all scenarios involving varying religions in a family. Should the veil be removed? Or should blissful ignorance be maintained? Do the benefits really outweigh the consequences? Food for thought! :)

  • Are the alarms still on in an abandoned grocery store?

Me and some friends usually practice our parcour on this abandoned kroger. It's been closed for a few years. Recently, we climbed in one of the vents and checked out the inside. On the sides, there were emergency exit doors with the signs that say if the door is opened, alarm will sound. We opened them but no alarm sounded, but every time we have done this, a cop car soon pulls into the parking lot and shines a light around the building. Does the alarm notify the police or is it just mere coincidence?

  • What to do about a littering note?

I was driving down the highway in bumper to bumper traffic and one of my friends threw their empty coke bottle out of the car. Somebody behind us must have saw (I didn't even know) and followed us about thirty miles out to our destination. She said that she saw us throw a star-buck's cup out of the car and that she took our license plate number down and was going to call the cops. Then she drove back to the highway and kept going. It was pretty funny and a little desperate on her part, but I'm a little worried about it. Will the police actually confront me over this (it's not like she has any proof)? If they do, what should I say? thanks for the help!

  • 50$ to Best Buy... What do I spend it on for my PS3?

OK so I have Uncharted 2, Motorstorm 1 & 2, Little Big Planet, Tom Clancy off the wazoo, Quantum of Solace, Batman Arkham Asylum, and Rockband 2. I got a gift card to Best Buy for 50$. Things I'm looking at right now is a PS3 Official Bluetooth Headset because mine is kinda junky but not terrible. I'm also looking at inFamous, looks really fun. I can't really get M rated games (stinx, I know) so inFamous seems like my best bet in a really good game. Maybe Ratchet and Clank but I'm leaning toward inFamous. Please don't saw Uncharted 1 (Rented and beat it and it dominated), warhawk (waiting for MAG) or anything LEGO (self explanatory). Aside from those, any suggestions are welcome!!!

  • Should I get inFamous or a PS3 official headset?

I heard inFamous was great so that sounds fun. I like to play a lot of online with Uncharted 2 and I have a headset but its always picking up feedback and static and it makes noises even when its dead quiet. Its a resident evil 5 headset (cheapest one at gamestop) so I can understand it stinx. But I can get inFamous for $30 and a ps3 official headset for 40$ which is a good deal for each, considering they're both brand new. So which should I get?

PS: If you play Uncharted 2 online a lot and have a mic, give me your PSN ID and I'll add you cuz a lot of the kids on there are like 12 and it annoys me to death. So I need somebody more mature and you know... proper age.

  • What to get my parents for Christmas?

Mom likes fitness stuff, Dad likes Star Trek stuff and tools (no movies), and the sister likes what any other 14 year old girl wants apart from make up, purses, and girly stuff.

I just need some ideas for brainstorming. Thanx!

  • What 2 ps3 games should I rent?

I'm getting surgery tomorrow and I need to entertain myself all weekend until sunday night. I'm looking for a game I could probably beat in those three days. I am not allowed to play M games. So i was thinking Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, Infamous, or Batman: Arkham Asylum. I at least want to finish them over the weekend, whichever 2 I get. If you have any other suggestions, I'm open for new ideas. I already have Warhawk, Quantum, Motorstorm, Bad Company, Little Big Planet and Rockband 2.

  • Should I get a real drum set or an electric one?

I have been playing drums off a $400 drum set for like 4 years. I am really interested in moving up now and playing double bass, and soon maybe triple bass. But I have trashy symbols and such and need a new one so I can learn rythym and dynamics before anything. So my question is, what would I get better practice out of: electric or regular drum set? I'm betting on the latter because rythym and dynamics are kinda cut short in electric drum sets.
