  • What would household items would you recommend bringing to Tunisia?

I'm moving to Tunis for 2-3 years from the US and would like to know what items I should bring with me (specific baby items? Cleaning supplies? Cosmetics? Food items, chocolate? Etc...)

I've done some googling and read that cleaning supplies should be brought, not sure why?

I'm open to any tips and suggestions, I'm packing a 40 ft container via ship so I have lots of room. Already packed some of my favorite food items that have a long shelf life.

  • Can you find cream cheese in Tunisia?

I'm moving to Tunisia this summer and would like to know if you can buy cream cheese at the monopod or French grocery stores? I've never been there before and I'm bringing A LOT of non-perishable food items with me! (cake mix, cereals, oatmeal, chocolate chips, etc.)

Also, do they sell dairy milk? I'm sure it's not cheap but I love to cook and I'm not sure how I will cook wi powdered or evaporated milk.

Thanks for any tips or help!,

  • Moving from the USA to Lebanon, what would the biggest transitions be?

I know there is not a postal system, but what else would I not have that I'm so used to having in the US? Also, this may sound odd but I love to cook Italian food and I'm not sure if their grocery stores would sell european ingredients? (risotto, parmesan cheese, etc.)

Comments from people who have lived in the US and Lebanon are appreciated :-) 10 pts best answer!! thanks :-)

  • Can a 43 year old man be willing to committ to a 23 year old woman?

I know he's looking for a long term relationship, but I'm not sure how he feels about having one with me. I'm only 23 and I'm not sure if he sees me for more than my beauty or as someone he'll be able to sleep with in the future. I'm educated, have a good job, and I'm pretty independent so I know he's aware I'm not using, If I want something I get it on my own.

I'm still getting to know him so I feel uncomfortable asking him.

  • Is Labeneh high in calories or fat?

I bought a jar from a Middle Eastern store and it does not have nutrition facts on the jar. I bought the kind that is not a spread, I bought authentic labneh. They're ball shaped and they sit in olive oil (clear jar).

Is this fattening to eat, about 1 ball on whole weat toast? Nothing on top of it. Obviously whole wheat bread isn't bad but I'm wondering about the Labneh

  • Can a shoe repair person make high heels lower?

I bought a pair of boots from Bebe that I love, but they have a platfrom on the sole and the heel is 5 1/4 inches!! I'm already 5'6'' and I didn't realize I would look like a giant. I've already worn them, can't return them.

Is this possible? Has anyone had this done before?

  • Why do some women from Iran call themselves Persian?

Wikipedia says that Persia is an accepted name used for Iran, but to speak correctly one should use Iran. I'm wondering why some women call themselves Persian and others (usually ones who are veiled) call themselves Iranian? Is there a slight difference?

I thought majority of women in Iran were Muslim, no?

  • Do you think they will pay me for training/shadowing?

I will be training (shadowing a worker) for a new job at a medical center which is located throughout the Mid-West. Do you think I will get paid for my training? They did not say, but if they are going to match what I put into my 401K, pay for my MBA 100%, and give my health insurance (including dental/vision) I'm guessing that they would pay me for my training. What do you think?

  • Why is my future employer calling my previous employers?

an very well known medical center has given me a job as a lead secretary, they've sent me paperwork, gave me a start wage, and have told me to come in friday to go over the paperwork (direct deposit, taxes, insurance, etc.).

My dad (he's a former boss) as well as my current boss , BOTH said an Indian man with a hard accent to understand, called them. My boss missed his call but listened to the voice mail. My dad said the person asked when I worked for him...MY DAD TOLD THEM THE WRONG DATE!! My dad said I worked last year, but my resume says 2005-2007. Hopefully the person is smart and can realize we both have the same last name and that it's a family business, and my time there may have fluctuated. AM I SCRWED?!?

Why are they calling my previous employers when they already told me I got the job? Shouldn't they have done this before having me take 2 drug tests and fill out paperwork?!?

I really need this job, and I'm feeling paranoid about all of this mess!

  • I'm a Christian and my boyfriend is not sure what he believes in?

We've been dating for a year and he is the best man that has set foot into my world, he treats me perfect, and he loves me very much.

I just can't keep pretending that him being agnostic, or not believing in anything, doesn't bother me because it does. He was raised Greek Orthodox (his parents don't know he's agnostic) but the priest speaks classic Greek which hardly anyone understand, so I can't blame him for not wanting to go to his church- I have been there before.

I have given him an ultimatum, he needs to do some research and pick a modern/contemporary church he would like to try out, or I will go with him to his church if that's what he wants. He needs to learn more about Christianity before he says he does not believe in Christ.

I told him if he goes a couple Sundays a month this is fine, I don't expect him to go every week, even I sometimes miss due to work. I feel that he needs someone to reach out to him, not change him, but show him God's love for him.

Is this helpless? Should I stick with him because he treats me so good? How long should I give him?

  • Have you used Priceline's "name your own price" option for a stay in Mexico?

I want to surprise my bf and take him somewhere very warm in December (we live in Michigan). I want to start looking, but Priceline seems still pretty pricey for two recent college grads. I'm thinking if I do the "name your own price" option, it might be a lot cheaper.

I've used "name your own price" before and it SAVES A TON! But I only used it for hotels in the US, not mexico. I got my dad a room at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago for 75.00 a night!! (using name your own price).

Has anyone used name your own price for Mexico? I will be using it for flight and hotel.

  • Would you hire HomeInstead Senior Care to come to your elderly parents home?

HomeInstead is a non medical company that takes care of elderly people in three different categories: Personal, Home Helper, and Caregiving.

Caregivers give clients medication reminders, help them in the shower/restroom, do light house keeping and meal preparation/cooking. They also can run errands for clients, or take them to activities such as senior centers, baseball games, or take the out to lunch.

All of their caregivers are trained, and HomeInstead does background checks on all of their caregivers as well. Caregivers are insured and bonded in case they are hurt (or the client) is injured on the job.

There are over 800 locations in the USA, and there are other franchises worldwide.

Would you hire them for your elderly parents?
