Hi I have a 240sx that had a blown head gasket, i replaced it and had the head resurfaced at napa auto.

I've figured out that what caused the overheating in the first place was the thermostat because it wasn't opening up and the radiator fluid wasn't flowing. The car overheated on 2 occasions and I never let the temps to get all the way to "high/hot" before shutting it off but the temps got pretty high.

With the engine fully cooled down, I open the radiator cap and some coolant flows into the coolant overflow tank, which I believe isn't normal. What could be causing this? Is it possible i cracked the new head gasket or warped the resurfaced head?

Also I've ordered a new thermostat and a new water pump and will be replacing them as soon as they come in the mail.

I have some experience working on fiberglass, I repaired some of my old bumpers.

I need to know how to repair a corner that has been chipped off. For example the corner of my car hood chipped completely off so instead of being pointy its flat. The corner is about an 80 degree angle. Please don't tell me to get a new hood because money is tight at the moment. I DO have some fiberglass mats/cloths, resin, and body filler laying around. Thanks!

So I plan on removing the clear coat on my wheels to repaint them. I am going to use either clear coat remover or aircraft remover. I DONT want to remove the clear on the LIP or the BACK of the wheel. I only want to remove to clear on the mesh part of the wheel so I can paint it. Any ideas to cover up the parts i dont want to get aircraft remover on? THANKS.

So i replaced alot of stuff over the past month on my 240sx. Fuel injectors, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, distributor, distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires. After i replaced everything the car would start and run for a bit and then stall out. Now the car wont even start it will just crank. I've heard that a bad coolant temp sensor with cause a car to run really bad. I was wondering would it cause the car to not start period? I would like input before i go and purchase i a new one. Hello everyone i drive a 1995 240sx.

So my car starts and runs for about 3-5 minutes and then dies and wont start back up. Its dies almost instantly when i rev it to about 3k RPM. When i do start the car it struggles to get to a steady idle for a couple seconds and then its fine.

Here's the thing I can only get it start back up if i put the crank pulley to TDC and readjust the distributor. That's the ONLY way it will start back up because If I don't do that it will just crank and crank and crank. I have repeated the process about 4 or 5 times.

Also I installed a newly used distributor, new cap & rotor, new injectors, new fuel pump, new fuel filter, spark plug & wires. I ordered a new Fuel Pressure Regulator, and Coolant Temp Sensor and they should be here in a couple of days. If the FPR and CTS does not fix this I am wondering what else could i try?

I want to get the hood of my car painted by a body shop. Its already sanded down i just want them to spray it. Id say 2 coats of gloss black and 1 coat of clear. They don't need to match it just a gloss black is fine. How much do you think it will cost for them to spray it?

I spray painted the of hood my car and I got over spray ever. I was able to remove some of it with a clay bar. I even tried using mineral spirits to remove it. Anyone know how I can remove the over spray without damaging my paint.

My fuel pump went out so I went and purchased a new one. Now when i turn the keys the fuel pump makes a LOUD noise, and my car wont start. I think I might have installed it wrong but the installation was pretty straight forward wasn't too difficult. Any Ideas?!

Hi I own a 1995 Nissan 240sx when ever i accelerate and reach about 4k rpm I hear my belts screeching really LOUD. Its really embarrassing, I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix it. Do I need to purchase new belts or are they just loose. Thanks yahoo members!

I just finished painting the hood of my car, i decided i don't want to use clear coat. Am i able to wet sand and polish (with Meguiars ultimate compound) without clear coat?

I am going to change my valve cover gasket this week and i was wondering how to properly seal it using RTV sealant. Do i put the RTV sealant between the valve and the gasket? Can you be as descriptive as possible? thanks.

My car is automatic and the shift knob has an overdrive on and off button. I want to get this aftermarket shift knob but it doesn't have the button. I'm wondering what can i do? Besides looking for another shift knob with the button.
