  • How to introduce two guinea pigs to eachother?

I have a female guinea pig around 1 year old. Her cagemate died about 4 months ago and i have been trying to decide whether to get another or to adopt her out as i know they cannot live alone. I have decided to get another female but i am not sure what age? Does it matter if they are the same age or younger or older or what?

and also do you have any links to information about the steps of introducing them?

    thank you!

  • I think i have a little hypochondria?

Nothing serious but i always feel like i have symptoms of things. Right now i think i might be developing type 2 diabetes or early menopause. The most recent doctor i saw (not for either of these issues but for something i have had since young) was a new one and he was a douche. He talked to me like i was stupid and it makes me not want to ask him anything even though he is getting paid. Should i change to another doctor and ask them to check my blood or something even though i hate needles? i know i am sooooooo weird!

  • Do i have a right to know my blood type?

I am 16 and live in the UK. I recently asked a doctor (i dont have a regular one) if he could tell me my blood type and he said that its not something they have on file (well it should be!) and that he'd have to go through a process of matching (or something) to get it. When i asked him to do this he told me it was not neccessary.

I just want to know my blood type and i think its something everyone should know! Could i press him to get my blood type or does HE have the right to tell me i dont need to know?

I have windows home vista premium and it is crap. I wanna know what i can use to put a clip of me singing (taken on the microphone) over a clip of the instrumental? Do i have to download something?

    I hope it is free.

I can not record me singing to the instrumental as the microphone does not pick up any sounds from the laptop, just from me

  • What does it mean when you recieve health benefits with a job?

I am considering a career in genetic counselling and i was reading up about it and, apparently, 89% of genetic counsellors receive health benefits in addition to their salary. What does this mean? Do they get free treatment or what?

  • What is the difference between Island Life and Mainland Life?

I am moving from a small Scottish island (pop 4 thou) to the mainland of Scotland in 5 months.

Here, its very safe (leaving your keys in your car all night/doors unlocked etc.) and i know that will be different in the mainland.

But i was just wondering if there are any social things i need to know about the mainland? I know i am very weird for asking but i do not want to be misinterpreted or anything and i have been told the way we act here is strange.

Anyone with experience want to help me out?

  • Things i'm not allowed to do in South Korea?

What would be some things that i would get away with in Britain or USA but not in South Korea? For example; openly slagging of SK Government? I wouldn't exactly go about shouting disses but what i mean is that that's acceptable in UK but i'm not sure about SK.

    Anyone?

  • Some questions about scottish high schools?

Its just that in my high school, when you get to third year you get to pick your own subjects. You pick 5 and do the courses over a year and then do your exams. So you do exams in third, fourth, fifth and sixth year. You can also choose what level you do even if teachers advise against it, for example when going into third year you can go straight into highers.

    How different are mainland schools in scotland? I will be doing my sixth year of high school in the mainland and have some questions;

how many subjects do i get to pick?

do i have to do highers?

  • Do you have to use UCAS for all uni applications?

One some course pages it specifically says that you can only reply for the course with honours if you go through ucas whereas some do not specify. Does this mean that not all applications have to be done from ucas?

I certainly hope i do not have to use it!!

  • Can i do this on UCAS?

I havnt yet decided if i want to study psychology, biology or neuroscience. I know i DO NOT want to do a joint honours though because that would be too much for me. So i have decided to leave it up to fate.

UCAS allows for maximum (i think) of 5 applications in a year. This is quite crap but i'll make do. So i am thinking of applying to 2 biology courses, 2 psychology courses and neuroscience course. If i do this, can each one have a different personal statement or do i have to use the same PS for all of my applications?

    help!! thanks!!

  • Universities in Canada?

Within the next two-three years i will be leaving for university and I'm trying to keep my options open. I have looked at all the Scottish universities and their courses (as thats where i'm from) but i'm also considering going to university abroad.

I was wondering if there is any universities in Canada that are open to and have a good reputation with dealing with international students.

    Any help is appreciated!

  • Travelling with guinea pigs?

So on saturday i am buying guinea pigs and bringing them home with me on the sunday. Travelling home consists of a 3 and a half hour bus journey then a 2 and a half hour ferry journey.

When i was at the shop that im buying them from ( i know petshops aren't recommended but there is no where else for me to buy them) the biggest travelling box there was cardboard and i didnt like the look of it. Next in size to that one was a plastic one. It wasnt that big but its the only way i can bring my two ginners home!

I also have to find a stand alone water bottle as this travel one doesnt come with one or any place for one to be attached.

Has anyone got any tips for making this journey less stressful for them?
