2 AnswersNotices and Errors7 years agoWhat is the derivative of f(x)= (x * ln(x))/(x^2+1)?
f(x)= (x * ln(x))/(x^2+1)
How do I go about it? I tried using the quotient rule but ln(x) made it difficult for me.
Thanks.
1 AnswerHomework Help7 years agoHere's another one, taking the derivative of f(x)=(x^2+3)/(x^3-3)^2?
f(x)=(x^2+3)/(x^3-3)^2
My main problem is the ^2 in the denominator. Does anyone have any solution?
Thanks.
2 AnswersHomework Help7 years agoYoutube thumb up bot no thumb down?
I tried to vote on a youtube video today and noticed that, for most, comments I can vote them up but I can't vote them down.
If a comment had 1 vote I therefore could make it 2 votes and then remove my own vote to make it 1 again, however, I could not make it 0 votes?
Is there a fix or is this simply the new system?
1 AnswerYouTube7 years agoGuy friend of girl I am talking with?
I've been chatting with this girl on facebook for a while and now one of her male friends have sent me a friends request! We, the guy and I, have never seen each other or talked. This happened shortly after I made a post on her wall.
I am not sure if he is just curious about me or if he sees me as a threat?
Is this an opportunity or should I wait befriending her friends until she actually introduces us, as I don't want to create an odd situation?
What are your thoughts?

2 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoGreat stories of these Olympics?
I was actually curious about one thing. Since there is N. Korea and S. Korea I wondered why they were announced as "Korea".
Now I've learned that they've actually united under the Olympic flag. What an encouraging story!

Do you know any more encouraging stories like this, under the Olympic flag, and what are they? :)
4 AnswersOlympics1 decade agoHave officials used signs?
Some guy in weightlifting just got a cramp in his leg and collapsed on stage. Officials immediately rushed in and covered him from view using sign boards. I just thought it was really nice.
Has this happened before (the signs) or is it new to these Olympics?

1 AnswerReality Television1 decade agoIn his book, Collapse, Jared Diamond lists..?
In his book, Collapse, Jared Diamond lists reasons why society's fail to detect, and/or solve problems that render them unsustainable, and may lead to their demise. One of his points is that societies often, historically and presently, fail to even attempt to solve a problem once it has been perceived.
"Many of the reasons for such a failure fall under the heading of what economists and other social scientists term "rational behavior,"arising from clashes of interest between people. That is, some people may reason correctly that they can advance their own interests by behavior harmful to other people. Scientists term such behavior "rational" precisely because it employs correct reasoning, even though it may be morally reprehensible. The perpetrators know that they will often get away with their bad behavior, especially if there is no law against it or if the law isn't effectively enforced. They feel safe because the perpetrators are typically concentrated (few in number)"
5 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoI've been looking ..?
I have been looking for the numbers on how much anthropogenic CO2 (weight) that has been releases, say annually (currently) and since the industrial revolution.
Does anyone have these sites (I have seen it both referenced to as tonnes/km2 of Earth's surface, and tonnes per km3 of air.)?
8 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoDid you know that U.S. and global temperatures significantly differ?
The temperatures globally rises much faster then the temperatures in the U.S. The temperatures in the U.S. is probably linked to the temperature of the North Atlantic Ocean. It transfers, throw the thermohaline conveyer belt, a lot of heat from the tropics to the U.S. on its way to the North pole. This congruity is predicted in climate models and may explain why the temperatures in the U.S. are not following the same patterns as much of the world.
5 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoSuspicious URL?
Hi, I found this url as a link in another section of Yahoo answers. It wasn't working properly, but when I howered the mouse over it the complete link emerged. Here is the complete (non functioning link), with an inserted '**space**:
Http://www.dubitinsider **space** .com/tracker/log/ **space** ?uid=7310]ASC?
Here's a link to the post in which the link appears: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjUtN...
I am wondering if the text after '.com' is a sign that there is a tracker involved? I know any website records logins but can this be a personal tracker? The site itself, Http://www.dubitinsider.com, seems safe but is the given url with the extension, tracker/log/14?uid=7310]ASC?, simply his personal login or is it an attempt to gain IP's, etc, throw a tracker?
2 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoA lack of patriotism is destroying America, Do you agree?
A lack of patriotism is, in some aspects, destroying America. When a few benefit by repressing technology that would benefit the U.S. as a nation, doesn't it ? And the rest of the nation have to pay for those few, and get placed in the back yard as far as technological advancement goes, doesn't it impair a country? Isn't it a step away from the benefits of capitalism when some people supress technologies so they can continue selling the ones they got. It does make the country less competitive, and there are additional costs, that all of you have to pay.

1 AnswerPhotography1 decade agoWhat are your opinions on scientist creating artificial life, patenting it, and owning it?
Dr. Venter, who sequenced the human genom, has applied for a patent for essential genes ,and a "free-living organism that can grow and replicate made using those genes." I see several advantages to doing such research, such as microbes desigend to adress environmental issues etc. But I also have a strong adhersion against anyone artificially creating and patenting life. What are your thoughts?
