How likely am i to get hyperemesis gravidarum again? and any tips on preventing, helping this?

What were the symptons, how long did it last and did it affect pregnancies or cause bleeding?

I am 4 weeks pregnant and yesterday had dull aching periods pains until late afternoon when i got stabbing pains in the right side of my abdomen. Went to emergency Dr as they thought it might be appendicitis. Got assessed at surgical unit and they said they didn't think it was. Had vaginal exam which showed my cervix was closed therefore he didn't think it was a miscarriage and it is too early for an ectopic. Today the early pregnancy unit has phoned me to ask me to go and have Hcg blood test today, wed and thurs to see if hormone levels are dropping - indicating a miscarriage. I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this pain and what symptons would present if it was a miscarriage. Also wondered how long it would take for my hormone levels to drop if i had a miscarriage. Can't understand because i haven't had any bleeding. Don't know what other causes would result in such sharp stabbing pains. please help im so anxious.
