  • Why do my Woolly Jumpers come out of the wash feeling stiff?

Whenever I wash my woollens, they have that stiff, rough feeling. It feels horrible to wear. Has anyone got any tips on getting Woollens to feel lovely and soft, rather than stiff and scratchy..??

  • My GP has signed me off sick for a month but Occupational Health have advised differently.?

I'm currently on sick leave waiting to have surgery on my wrist. My work involves PC work and my GP has signed me off (unfit for work) until my operation. However, my company's OH department have advised my manager that if I haven't had surgery within two weeks I could return on a restricted basis e.g telephone work, limited screen work etc. Can they do this if my GP has already signed me off.?

  • Another Lottery Scam?

I must be a lucky lady, I've won the lottery 3 times this week....

I wish....I keep getting these annoying Lottery Scams, but I am so tempted to reply to their emails and play the fool with these twisted idiots. Has anyone ever done this and how far have you gone?

  • Unhelpful work colleague/Mentor?

I recently started a new job two months ago and the person who is supposed to be mentoring me is really unhelpful and rude. Firstly I would like to stress that I'm not stupid or slow. I make as much notes as possible and I have spend very little time with her. I seldom ask her questions, but when I do she tells me she has no time and tells me her job is more important. I have complained to her manager to which she had a quiet word with her, which didn't do much. I have learnt my job by reading manuals and using my common sense.

I know that I'm behaving in the normal way that an intelligent individual would as a new starter. It's the first time I've ever had to train myself at a new job. What I don't get is everyone likes her. My line manager who is also as new as I am has noticed her rudness and reluntance to help.

She used to do my job and couldn't cope with the pressure. How do I deal with her without causing an atmosphere?

  • help! I have done some levelling for a construction course and need help with a gradient!?

I have levelled a straight run of 35m at 5m intervals. Now I have to design a "drain run" for this line of levels. I have been told to assume the drain is 1m below ground level at the lower end and has a falling gradient of 1 in 100. Does this mean that every 100m it falls 1m deeper???

Also, can anyone tell me what the general depth a drain should be at the start of the "run"? (Not defnitely needed, but would be helpful) All answers appreciated.
