  • Hotel requesting payment after stay?

Me and my friends recently stayed at a hotel for the weekend. We booked it a month in advance and got a special rate for doing so. They requested full payment at the time of booking and £238.50 was debited from my card and the paperwork they sent us said "full payment taken at time of booking", "payment taken £238.50" - all the dates, rooms and number of night details were also correct. However, now the hotel are ringing stating that they made a mistake when I booked and only charged us for one night and they are now requesting another £238.50. Where do I stand? Are they allowed to request more money after we have left even though it was their mistake? Many thanks in advance of your help.

  • What's the best lightweight backpacking tent to buy?

I'm doing some wild camping next weekend and need some advice on the tent. I'm currently looking at the vango banshee, coleman avior x2 and a vango spectre 200, any opinions on these tents? I have a limited budget of about £100 max and would like a 3 season tent that has an inner and an outer and is outer up first.

Thanks for any help you can give.

  • Where can I buy a great women's suit for under £150?

I'm a student in Kingston, London and have my first placement interview next week and need a suit that will fit me for under £150. I've tried on at least 20 suits today but all the high street stuff (Next, H&M, Espirit etc) doesn't fit me properly. A size 12 gapes open at the chest but a size 14 gives me no shape looks like I'm wearing a sack. Please please help.

  • How do I account for depreciation of fixed assets in subsequent years?

I am using the straight line method and have accounted for the depreciation in the profit and loss account as well as the balance sheet, however, it still leaves my balance sheet unequal. I think it has something to do with the cash flow forecast. Do I have to list the fixed assets as an expense every year?

  • Can anyone help me identify this ceramic plate manufacturers mark?

It appears to be a jug or an urn or a vase with two handles, inside it is a sort of M with a long middle line so it looks like a palm tree. Underneath the mark is written "made in england" and "hand painted". there is also a mark that says 21/37.

The front design appears to be art deco - mainly white with three pink and green flowers, three orange leaves and six green leaves.

I could send a picture if anyone thinks they might have an idea.

Sorry I can't give more details but I have no idea what I'm looking at.
