  • Why does smoke come out of second fireplace upstairs?

We have an open fire downstairs and above it an open fireplace in the bedroom, which we don't light fires in. Recently when we light the fire downstairs the upstairs bedroom fills with smoke. The Chimney used to be blocked up (not properly just things stuffed up it) and the odd bit of smoke came out but recently it has got worse. We have a cowl on the chimney pot for the downstairs fire to draw air out, and I think the roofer blocked the other pot (to stop birds etc) as we don't use the other fireplace. Is this causing the problem?

I assume that one fireplace uses one chimney pot and the other uses the second chimney pot?

  • Connecting an aerial to my stereo?

I bought an aerial recently which is a TV but also FM/AM one. It has one of those 'male' type connectors on it ie a pin. However my stereo also has the same type of connector. What is the name for the adapter I would need to be able to use? Its an excellent stereo I just need the aerial to boost the pickup for the radio signal in my area (rural). All i can get at the mo is local commerical radio which does my nut! I want radio 1,2,3,4 etc!
