How do I identify the series by looking at the box? the car?

I'm writing a software manual and I need to know the difference between:

Window

Screen

Box

-or any other similar vocab that I'm missing

for example, when a poor person walks into a rich restaurant, the rich person will look and shake his head with a smile (but a nasty smile) with the idea "you sorry piece of garbage, what are you doing in here? you lost?"

I would say disdain or scorn, but that's not it because the guy is smiling. -there's no smile in disdain.

In North America, traditionally, many windows were constructed using smaller pieces of glass - so a finished window would end up looking like a grid pattern. -That way, if a child hit a ball through the window, you would only have to replace one small square of glass and not the whole window.

Question for people outside of North America:

Would you understand a drawing that shows a window that looks like a grid pattern, or would you only understand a drawing that shows a window as one big piece of glass?

Again, really strange question, but I appreciate your help.

I have my audio going out from my TV and into my stereo. -So when I turn on my TV, I get audio from my stereo and I don't have to turn on my stereo first. -but I never turn the stereo off.

If the stereo is 600w, how much electricity am I using when it has no audio signal?
