  • GUYS: Is telling a woman she's "attractive" a polite way to say you don't find her beautiful or hot?

My boyfriend of 5 mos.and I have *amazing* chemistry. I sent him a great photo of me yesterday (yes, fully clothed!). He texted back "Wow.. Thank you so much for the picture...I think. You are such an attractive woman, and this picture shows it so well, that I'm finding it difficult to concentrate on anything else.".

Attractive???? My ex used to say I was gorgeous, beautiful, hot etc. I think I'm cute enough. I workout faithfully. Attractive is what you call your well groomed Nana!

I'm NOT a needy gf - but this is bugging me! It sounds like he was just being polite. Even his language sounded weird. I can deal with the truth, maybe he's not that into me. I'm almost hurt by his comment. Am I misreading this whole thing?

  • At what age do you consider kids to be too old to sleep in their parent's bed?

This is not an every night thing, but my son loves to crawl in bed with us. He's our only child, we were unable to have more, so I feel like I want to soak up all the love I can. They grow so fast! Lately though, I'm wondering if there's a cut-off? Or do you just follow your kid's lead? He's 9.5 yrs old.

  • I Need Style Help for 9 Year Old Boy - School Shopping?

My son is 9, going into the 4th grade. The other day he said, "...you know how the cool kids dress...". My brain was like "WTH? Cool kids dress? I thought I WAS buying you cool kid clothes!". Normally I'd buy a pair of Keen sandals, loose fit jeans and a Lego Tshirt. I thought that was cool. Obviously my son is a budding hipster and needs something that has more style.

My dh & I are in our mid 40's and I guess we've lost touch with the fashion world and all things cool. I don't want to spend his college fund outfitting him for 4th grade, however, he's our only child and we can afford to spend several hundred dollars on fall school clothes. I consider the cost of coats, shoes, etc to be separate.

I've checked out different store websites to look at what the kids are wearing. I just don't know what stores are "cool". Any ideas on what stores are considered hip for boys?

  • Ladies, do you give people a tour of your home if they come to visit?

I know a woman who is having a small holiday party at her house with some of her close friends and people from the office. She mentioned the other day that she's redecorating her bedroom before the party. I asked her why and she asked me, "Don't you show people your home?".

It brought back memories of my mother & others giving "tours" of their house (and also letting people pile their coats on her bed). Now I have my own house. I do not show people my bedroom, I wouldn't pile people's coats on my bed and I definitely don't give people a guided tour. Best friends or very close family would be fine, but even a relatively good friend? Unless she had a reason to be there, like to look at a new dress I told her about.

Do you show people around your home? Do you have company pile their coats on your bed?

  • What is Daily Referral (dailyreferral.com)?

An acquaintance from my son's school keeps emailing the entire PTA about this Daily Referral company, asking us to sign up for free. She's sent 3 msgs so far. In her email it says that we can "cancel anytime". That usually means scam to me. I Googled this company but all that came up is pages of marketing bs, filled with the same type of info in the email. I gather that whenever anyone signs up through her, she'll make money....so, what the heck is this thing? A pyramid scheme? What do they do? How does it work? It's like Groupon? Here's the stupid email:

Hey guys! will you please take a minute and click on the link below and sign up for deals from Daily referral? There is no charge to you at all... It would be helping me. I can talk to anyone who has questions and you can cancel anytime but you won't want to! Thanks in advance! - Laura

It is going to be amazing! Have you heard of Daily Referral? It’s a great new site with unbeatable deals at top-rated businesses in your favorite cities. I signed up, and now I’m getting news, updates, special offers, and exclusive deals from businesses I’m following based on my interests. Go to www.DailyReferral

  • Who gets the new car, my husband or me?

It's time to buy a new car. We have a 2003 Honda Civic that I drive, which is paid for. My husband has 1980's Ford "Country Squire" station wagon. He loves this car & calls it a "classic". I've told him it's a ghetto ride (the interior is blue velour, need I say more?), but he says he's never getting rid of it.

His car recently broke down and needs $2500 worth of work. I'm tired of him taking my car everyday, so I was thinking we could just get a new car instead of spending 2 grand. I stay at home with our son and I babysit full time, so it made sense to me that I get a minivan and he gets my Civic.

My husband is such a kind person. He works so, so hard and goes to school full-time. Part of me feels like he deserves to have the newer one. But part of me says, "I want the car. I need it because of the kids & groceries, etc.".

I don't want to be selfish, but I Idon't want to share either. Ok - Who gets the car?
