  • Should I lie on income to get better insurance?

Ok so I live in a state that has declined the expanded medicaid. Which means I get neither medicaid or any assistance with federal marketplace at my income. I am going to fall $2000 shy of the minimum necessary. I am not one to break laws or take a hand out, my wifes health is very bad after a messed up c - section that 3 surgeries since and she still isn't able to stand or lift.

I do have a plan through my job but it doesn't qualify as insurance under the affordable care act. I pay $3200 a year for $4650 max paid out. I am left with $115 after a doctor visit, they pay a max of $75 towards ER visit.

So you can understand why I want decent coverage. To get a private plan will cost me over $600 per month which isn't possible on our income.

TL:DR ----- Would it be wrong to add income I don't have to qualify for a federal marketplace plan? (Yes I know I will pay more tax but small price to pay so I don't go bankrupt on medical bills)

  • Can student loans be taken from tax refund?

I am wondering if my joint tax refund can be taken by my wife's student loans that are in default. Last year my wife had serious medical issues that are only now being resolved, she hasn't worked in a year. We lost everything over the last year, our only hope was our refund this year. She owes like $7,000 which is all of our refund and some. Is there any hope they won't take them or anything we can do this late in the game?

  • Question about Rasberries/blackberries/blueberries?

Ok I was at our local sams club and my wife picked up a thing of 4 plants: Heritage Red Raspberry, Royalty Raspberry, Bluecrop blueberry, arapaho thornless blackberry; plants. We live very close to Kansas City, Missouri. What I am wondering is when do we plant these? They say they are 2 year plants, and have a tiny bit of green stem and a few leaves on a few of them. I know there is more frost, so what should I do with them? Any help is greatly appreciated, I know nothing about berries.

  • I need help getting a broken light bulb out?

I have a light bulb that the glass came out of when it burned out. The glass came out without breaking at all. The bulb base is shorter than the fixture. The fixture is on the ceiling over the stairs and about 15-18 feet up. Its a standard home socket used in the USA for the last 50 years+. I tried using a potato on a pole, but not even close. Is there anything that can screw into that or am I stuck attempting a ladder, because the ladder cannot rest near enough I will have to stretch and risk life and limb to change it. I also have terrible balance.

  • How to make my laptop the most it can be.?

Basically I got my wife a new awesome laptop and I am going to take hers and try to make it the best it can be.

First of all I know this isn't a speed demon, nor am I expecting that. I only intend to use this for games like guild wars, warcraft3, starcraft, diablo 2. I might also use it for starcraft 2 but that would be it.

So is it worth messing with at all?(I can't afford another laptop for a few years and do have a good desktop)

    My thoughts:

    Upgrade to a 80gb 7200rpm hd

Upgrade to 1gb of 333mhz ram(hp told me that it won't boot if I use 400mhz is that true?)

I found a copper heatsink that I am going to attach to the graphics card itself to help it out.

I intend to keep the hd very clean, run xp pro, and just the programs I need.

    Any other suggestions?

  • My seller lied on our disclosure what should I do?

Basically on the sellers disclosure she stated the oven worked, it doesn't, we replaced it. She stated the Furnace was 3 years old, there is a plate on it that states it is 20 years old. She stated the water heater was 4 years old, on the plate it says 21 years old.

We did NOT get an inspection, yes I know thats bad, first house live and learn, but whats done is done.

We can prove that she lied, and inspection or not you cannot lie on a legal document. So should we persue this, or do you think it will not be worth our time? Any other advice?
