  • How to reset a 4029 counter at given number?

I'm building a 555 based electronic dice, and will have the 555 running to a 4029 counter running to a 4511 BCD -> 7 Segment converter.

Now, I have the circuit to work perfectly, and it counts from 0-9.

Problem is, I cannot get the counter to reset when it reaches the count of 6, and start at 1.

I have tried to take jam input 1 high and then take the preset enable pin high when the counter hits 7, but nothing happens. I did this by using a quad input AND gate. Inputs 1, 2 and 3 were the binary code for 7 (1110) and input 4 was the clock signal inverted, so it would only work when the clock was off. This did not work and it just got stuck on the number 7 without resetting.

Have any of you had experience with this type of circuit? What can I do?

  • If you were having a birthday soon..?

Basically, my question is about a Birthday gift.

If it was your 18th birthday soon, and you were a female photography enthusiast with a love for all things vintage (Not really a girly girl, and hasn't really been asking for much for her Birthday), would you be happy to receive a Zeiss Ikon Cocarette?

It would probably just be a display piece, but the one that I've found is in amazing condition with a perfect shutter mechanism.

    Here are some pictures:

I realize this is not exactly a question that you would expect to find here, but your help would be much appreciated!

  • Piano Chord identification.?

    Hey there everyone!

First off, sorry about the category this is in, since the piano tune I'm trying to learn is very much like that you would find in a Saloon Bar, I filed it under Jazz.

I'm hoping one of you can help me out here. I'm learning "The Old Saloon" by "The Lonely Island" by ear, and I've got the intro pretty much down, except for the life of me I can't figure out the chords that are played as the singing (Rapping?) starts.

As far as I know the song is in D major.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agbORPlsggQ

That is the link to the song in question, the piano chords I need to know are at about the 0:12 and 0:13 mark. (Just before he starts by saying "New s**t"

(Warning, the song is slightly explicit so please do not hold me responsible.)

    Thank you in advance!

  • Is it possible to schedule a torrent download for a file not yet uploaded?

Basically, I live in a place where all new TV series come out at about 4am local time.

It is possible for me to wake up early, put the torrent on to download and then copy it onto my laptop, but I would like an easier solution.

If I knew an approximation of what the file name would be (Since episodes are named in very similar ways) is there any program that could check trackers for the torrent periodically and then download it when it is released?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Intel H67 vs. P67 Motherboards?

I need some opinions on this:

I'm going to be buying a new system with an i5-2500 Processor (NOT K)

And I want to know if a P67 motherboard gives you any benefits over the H67 motherboard apart from the fact that you can overclock if you have a K chip.

I'm looking at the Intel DH67CL Motherboard, as it falls just inside my budget. I will be using it for gaming, and I will add on a graphics card from my old system.

Do you think this system will be okay?

    Thanks!

  • Can you find a person's location using their height, length of their shadow and the time? Using Trigonometry.?

I was watching G.I. Joe a few days ago, and I saw them figure out a person's rough location from a photo where they knew the person's height, shadow length and the time and date that the photo was taken, is this possible?

    If so, how?

I am a keen math student and have some basic experience in trigonometry.
