what is the relationship between the mass of a pendulum and its period given a constant length?
I have to create an experiment for this question... but I'm not really sure what to do. Would my variables be time and mass? Time it takes to swing depending on the mass of my pendulum? Yes? no?
I'm just confused.

I know it looks like a Phalaenopsis but I'm about 97% sure it's not. Is it a hybrid? Do hybrids have certain names? Here are some pictures:

I have some basic know how of crocheting, but not enough to do the stitches they did. If you could tell me what stitches they're doing, I could probably figure it out myself.
Thank you!
1 AnswerHobbies & Crafts1 decade agoWhat song of Peter Gabriel did Regina Spektor cover?
He has just recently released 'Scratch My Back'. He takes other artists who have covered his music and has chosen one of their songs to cover and release on this disk.
I'm just wondering what song by Mr. Gabriel, Regina covered. Does anyone know?
1 AnswerOther - Music1 decade agoIf I don't meet the ACT averages for a University, does that hurt my chances of getting in?
I have a 3.28 (will be 3.3 by the end of this year) GPA, and I scored a 20 on my ACT. I want to go to Grand Valley State University, but their ACT averages range from a 22 to a 26. I've been in Student Council, SADD, Link Crew and Youth in Government, so I think my extracurricular activities are covered. I meet almost all of GVSU's requirements, except English, but I'm only a junior and will have that covered next year.
The college websites aren't always that clear and it would be muchly appreciated if someone could shed some light on this.

4 AnswersGreen Living1 decade agoDo colleges take into account the type of classes you take in high school?
Some background information: I'm a junior in high school. By the end of this year I should have a 3.5-3.6 GPA. I'm in the top 20% of my class. I've participated in student council, Student's Against Destructive Decisions, and Youth In Government. I plan to do some community service this summer.
I am currently taking AP English, and took accelerated English my freshmen and sophomore years. I've never really taken blow off classes, my extracurriculars have mostly been social sciences (Psychology concepts, personal psychology, sociology) and I've also taken a couple art classes. Will colleges appreciate that fact?
I haven't taken the ACT yet. I don't know if I'm going to score well on it (I'm kind of worried that I wont do well, actually.)
To be honest, I have no clue what to do about college. I feel like everything is riding on this ACT score, even though I've been told time and time again it's not.
Er... I hope someone can find a question to answer in that some where. These are just the thoughts that have been going through my mind for the last few months and I just need someone to help me make sense of this.
Thanks.

1 AnswerHomework Help1 decade agoDendrobium Orchid Problem?
I recently bought a dendrobium orchid from Lowes. They stuck it in the worst possible pot they could. It's a ceramic vase thing, there are no holes to let it drain and it's planted in spagma moss (is that what it's called?) Anyways, I watered it before I left and went to my moms for the weekend, and I just returned to my dads and all of the leaves are Greenish-yellow. I know that winter is not the right season to repot, but I don't know what to do.
I thought about drilling a couple holes in the bottom, but the vase is ceramic and I think it'll bust if I do that.
1 AnswerGarden & Landscape1 decade agoHelp with eliminating radical signs for a radical equation?
My equation is: -2 sqrt (24x) +13 = -11
When I eliminate the sqrt symbol, do I just square 24x or do I square everything on that side of the equation. (I know that I'm supposed to square the -11 too)
Help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

1 AnswerWords & Wordplay1 decade agoHow many leaves does your orchid grow in between growing spikes?
My flowers died and fell off back in the end of June, early July, and I'm just wondering how many leaves will grow in between that spike and a new one. I don't have a new spike yet, I'm just anxious. I have a Phalaenopsis if that sheds any light. So far, my orchid has grown one leaf, and another is growing pretty quickly too.
2 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoQuestion about my orchid: new root or new spike?
I thought it was a spike beginning, but now that it's pointing downward I think it might be a root. Does anyone know how to tell the difference? It's a Phalaenopsis orchid if that helps at all.

1 AnswerRadio1 decade agoWill I regret not going past algebra 2 in high school?
After this year, I'll have had Algebra 1A and 1B, Geometry, Algebra 2A, 2B, and 2C. I've really struggled with Algebra 2, and I have to take 2B and 2C this year. I don't want to take trig and I really don't want to take calculus. There's no way I'd be able to do it. Will I regret not going farther in math? I'll have to take Algebra in college, i'm sure. So would hurt to just stop at algebra 2 for now?
