I am a tossed salad of genres. But, I guess the most defining quality about me is that I'm in love with the sound of my own voice (the look of my own font?) so you'll be hearing a lot from me on Answers! No, seriously, I'm twenty-three, a student, and an author. I speak English, French, German and Japanese, and I enjoy science as well as philosophy, and of course art! I'm a pisces and a tiger, if you are interested in that sort of thing. Don't ask me about religion. The whole concept makes me extremely uncomfortable.

  • Crazy-bad sunburn, any ideas on the cause?

The last few times I've had a sunburn, I've had a strange and worrying reaction. I break out in small blisters, even if I haven't been in the sun long or I am wearing sunscreen. If I get a bad sunburn, the burnt area swells up to about twice its normal thickness. When I sunburn my face, my eyes swell shut. After a few days, the burn seems to heal and turn into a tan. But then, after about a week of tan, patches of it (but not the whole thing) will peel off, leaving behind areas of skin that are about as white as skin can get - they're even whiter than the skin under my watchband where I don't tan. Any idea what is going on here?

  • Please interpret/give an opinion on this poem.?

There is a rug, comprised of silken strands -

Her woven cords make pale the rainbow's hue!

More fierce than gems, her threads of Saphire blue -

To me she is the sun on darkened lands!

She's woven on a loom too fine for man -

More bright than stars, the threads that run her through!

The thought of her to me is clung like glue -

Through all my life, her shining lustre spans!

Yet she remains, reposed upon the floor

A home to mud, and cold discarded shoes.

As desolate, unloved as windswept moor,

Her splendor's naught, to base and sightless fools.

A rug, though of the finest quality,

Remains a rug, for all eternity.

I'm curious to know what message you think this poem is meant to convey, and also what you take away from it. What do you think of the word choice and the choice of format? Over all, do you like, or dislike this poem?

  • At approximately what age do kittens get their adult teeth?

Also, if anyone knows other any other good ways to tell the age of a kitten, I would love to hear them. I'm trying to roughly determine the age of my kitten; she is a stray that I rescued, and I assume she is quite young but I am not sure.
