I just started exercising about a week ago, and unfortunately ran/walked with shoes that seemed to be too tight. Now the top of my left foot creaks and is slightly swollen, but there is very little pain--almost unnoticeable. What is this and what should I do?

There was something about the desert. It's slower and sounds middle eastern and like a dream/trance kind of sound (don't pay too much attention to the trance part). I think it might have been sung by U2 or Bono, but I'm not sure, and it's NOT a new song. Finally, it is played on the radio every once in a while, so I would guess that it is somewhat popular because it's not like it is new. Please give me any songs that you think might match this! What are some human traits that are based on only a single allele (NOT polygenic)? A human pedigree project is coming up and I don't know what traits would be good to trace in my family. Can you please just give me a list of traits that are affected only by a single allele (and do not have co-dominance or incomplete dominance)

Please give me information on these and I would appreciate some links to some sites that give very good, easy to understand and remember information on the structures. Also, is it tied in to protein synthesis? Thank you!

So I need an end of the year honors biology project. I would like it to not be common, but also not cost too much money to do. Basically I want it to be cheap(ish), Difficult (not too hard though, but definitely not easy), fun, and uncommon. I'm having a hard time coming up with ideas. Also, it would be cool if you had any ideas concerning marine animals (saltwater or freshwater) like bioluminescent bacteria or other things. Please help! Thanks!

I think I have decided to do things concerning the chemistry of saltwater fish tanks. I would say what happens when you test the water (Like why the water changes colors in the test tubes and what chemical reactions occur, what it means, and what chemicals and things you can add to the fish tank to make the levels safe for the fish and other living things.) Also, I would explain the importance of specific equipment, like powerheads, protein skimmers, etc., in detail. I would go into a lot of detail in all of this and probably more (especially concerning the chemistry and chemical reactions of the water). What do you think?

I have live rock set up in my tank, and I was wondering if the next time I do a water change to lower my nitrates (which are around 20) if I should move the live rock around to use a gravel siphoner under it. I don't use gravel in my aquarium, but the gravel siphon works with the substrate I have. I don't want to stress everything out (clownfish, coral beauty, arrow crab, sally lightfoot, and snails) in my biocube 29 by moving the rocks around.. Will it be ok?

I have a Biocube 29 and I tested the nitrates today and they are around 20.. I know it's not too bad, but I want to get it much lower in preparation of an anemone. I have 1 clownfish, a coral beauty, arrow crab, sally lightfoot, and snails. I'm using live rock also. Should I move the live rock, and when I do a water change use a gravel siphoner to get anything out from the substrate underneath them? I just don't want to stress everything out in my tank by moving around the rocks. Anything else I can do other than do a 30% water change and then another 30% water change the next day?

Also, what water parameters (ph, nitrates) are necessary

Is a Hydor Koralia 2 Powerhead / turbo pump too much for my 29 gallon biocube saltwater aquarium. The guy I go to for fish and stuff has one in his biocube and his tank is really nice. When I put mine in, though, my fish and arrow crab all pretty much went to the same place in my tank. Is it too much water current for them? I think they might be trying to get to a place of less current, but I'm not sure if they just need to get used to it, and it will be fine after a while. Please Help! Thanks!

I just got mine yesterday. It's the Oceanic Biocube protein skimmer and it uses a wooden air stone in the bottom of the reaction chamber. The collection cup fills not quite to the top of the hole, where the bubbles come out, with water in probably several hours. The water is pretty clear, and I noticed that there is a little amount of green grime stuff, so it is working a little bit. It's not just foam coming out of where it is supposed to come out, but there are pretty large bubbles coming out too. How high is the foam supposed to be? Is it supposed to spill over the edge of the hole into the collection cup?

My arrow crab has like some kind of bottom that I can sort of explain as a but that looks like a shell on the underside of the body. It looks as though it has a hinge or something, and when I looked at the crab, the shell thing was open. Then it took something out that looked to me like poop. Is that normal?
