  • How to skip page numbers in MS Word?

    I'm using Word 2010 and would like to jump page numbers so I can insert a few pages of a spreadsheet in the hard copy of my lab report. In this way I want the page number at the end of the report to reflect the total number of pages in the hard copy.

    So I guess to describe this a little bit better, I want the four pages in the word document to be 1, 2, 5, 6.

  • Physics 2 problem - circuits?

    A current is flowing through a circuit and you open a switch. Why might a spark jump across the switch opening? Explain what happens when this occurs. What property of the circuit would be relevant to this phenomenon?

  • What does "unit officially deprecated" mean in Wolfram|Alpha?

    I was on Wolfram|Alpha and under some of the conversions for 760 torr, it said "unit officially deprecated." I looked up the definition of deprecated and found that it means something along the lines of disapproved. So I suppose the unit was officially disapproved? But then by whom? and/or why? or is this even right at all?

  • Very little memory on my hard drive left but I can't figure out where its gone?

    I've got about 20 GB left on a 250 GB hard drive. About 90 GB are between the program files and the user files, 15 to the windows folder. And I don't know where the rest of it is to try to clean it up. I know the operating system takes up space but not 80+ Gb. Not that I'm desperate for more space, I have a TB external hard drive but me not being able to find where all this data has gone is concerning.

    I use the external hard drive for the backup which was about half full. So I go into look at the properties for the folders in there and it says there the files are only a hand full of bytes big. I thought this was weird too, seeing has how there should have been at least 2 backups. I deleted all of the contents on it and found that there are still 140 GB still being used. I do have all of the hidden files shown so I know something is not right.

    Maybe a virus? registry errors? I haven't the slightest idea...

    This machine is a Dell, 32 bit, Windows7.

  • All colors of light put together is clear, why do I get brown when I mix paints?

    Light of all colors put together is clear or white. So why then do I get brown to black when I mix paints together. Also, what frequency is brown light relative to the other colors with red being the lowest and violate being the highest? What frequency is white, gray and black? From my understanding, true black is lack of light so then what frequency is the black objects we see all around us? If I had to guess, I'd say these colors are a mixture of frequencies but I don't know if I'm even close on that one.

  • Simple Javascript help?

    I'm a high school student just trying to learn some scripting while in an html class. My teacher hasn't a clue about javascript so I've been trying to teach myself. I'm trying to write a a script that checks to see if a form has any content, if it doesn't, it'll give an alert saying to fill in the info and if it does just give an alert saying it was submitted. I'm not going to actually write a script for submitting the content and what not because this is just a fake page I'm writing for class. Here are the bits of code I have:

    <head>

    <script type="text/javascript">

    <!--

    function submitinfo() {

    if ('document.form.element[0].value==""') {

    alert('Please provide contact information.');

    }

    else {

    submitalert();

    }

    }

    function submitalert() {

    alert('Information submitted!');

    }

    //-->

    </script>

    </head>

    <body>

    <p><input name="contact" type="text" size="50"> <input name="submitbutton" type="button" value="Submit" onclick="submitinfo()">

    </body>

    (When I go to submit this, I don't believe it will honor the multiple tabs I've used for organization so it might look a bit messy.)

    What this does is show the alert that is supposed to be displayed when there isn't anything in the field whether there is or not. I'm pretty sure it should be element[0] because I don't have any other inputs on the page other than the button that follows, just an image and some text prior to it. Any suggestions or help will be appreciated.

  • Xbox Live and Modern Warfare 2 hacking?

    How do I, or where can I learn to do some of the hacks or glitches on Modern Warfare 2 and other stuff on Xbox Live? I'm not interested in paying someone to get me to 10th prestige or paying for Aimbot or anything else but I just want to learn how some of these things are done. I'm not going for any monetary gain or cheat and glitch my friends to 10th prestige here, I'm just curious and advanced computer networking and programming intrigues me. Oh, and I'm using a 360, not my PC or a PS3.

  • C++ Programming Help?

    I am writing a program to simply calculate the total range of a ballistic projectile for my honors physics class in high school. I have the program up and running with the exception that I don't know how to put in the equation used to find range. The equation I'm using is too complex to try to type in here, so go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trajectory_of_a_proje... and its the very first one entitled "The total horizontal distance (d) traveled."

    I declared initial velocity, angle, and height (starting height above the ground) as float variables. I am currently only using <iostream> but I'm assuming I'm going to have to use others as well.

    If you would like my whole syntax you can email me at jakeaschneider@yahoo.com

    Side note: I have self-taught myself C++ so please make you answers as simple as possible because I'm still somewhat of a beginner.

  • How loud are and what type of sound do headers give you?

    I've got a 2002 5.3L Silverado with a Flowmaster original 40 but I would like a little more powerful sound when I get into the throttle. I'm not as interested in the HP gain as I am the sound and gasmilage. I've seen headers range from about $300-$1000 but I don't want to spend more than $500 especially if I have to redo my exhaust pipes. Anyone know what I'm looking for?

  • Cydia vs. Icy -- And how I should go about jailbreaking a OS 3.0 ipod touch?

    First off, what will be the differences between Icy and Cydia? I know Icy is supposed to be faster and lighter and what not, but will I be able to install the same packages with Icy as I currently am with Cydia?

    Second, I have a 2.2.1 jailbroken ipod touch. I used redsn0w and am now looking to buy the OS 3.0 software update but not until I know I will be able to successfully jailbreak it and SSH into it so I can install cracked apps (I don't just want to install Instalulous or AppSync or what ever the auto downloaders are for safari on your ipod). I know quickpwn has software out already but it is beta and only supports first gen touches and iphones. So Should I just wait until the "sn0w" hackers come out with their jailbreak, still using cydia? Or try quickpwn's beta and Icy?

    Something else that just came to mind... when I update to the new OS, Cydia (and all my cracked apps should still be there)? So will it matter which jailbreak I use because after I have jailbroken it, it should all work again anyway?

    If you can't tell, I'm a little confused as to what to do and I might have some information completely wrong. If so, please correct me and help me out with what I should do.

  • OS 3.0's affect on a 2.2.1 jailbroken ipod touch?

    Will I just do nothing and install the new OS update when it comes and it will still be jailbroken? Or am I going to have to wait for new jailbreak software? Or what will it do?

    Any additional useful information would be appreciated.

  • What happens when you jailbreak your ipod touch?

    What exactly does that do and how do I do it? More importantly, will it still be under warranty and what not if i do this?

    I have a second generation and I think I've got a hold of some software that will do it for me but I just want to make sure I don't screw up this $400 "toy" of mine.
