Voluntary Separation under LADSC?
Question for you all. I've been searching for hours and I can't find much information. Also I have no idea who on the base I would direct these questions to.
I am considering voluntary separation under LADSC which is a part of the USAF FY14 force shaping. I have 3 years and 4 months in service at the grade of E4. I do not qualify for palace chase at the moment so this is the only separation program I will qualify for.
PSDM 13-64 says: Airmen approved for separation under the LADSC Waiver Program are approved under AFI 36-3208, Administrative Separation of Airmen, paragraph 3.15, Miscellaneous Reasons. The narrative reason for separation reflected on the DD Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty will be “Miscellaneous/General Reasons”.
I've checked all these AFI's and I cannot find the information I need...
I just need to know what sort of discharge this voluntary separation qualifies for (honorable?) and if it would effect MGIB benefits (even if you are past your 30 month GI Bill period).
2 AnswersMilitary7 years agoWhich GI Bill is better?
I'm a little confused with the difference between the Post 9/11 GI Bill and the Montgomery GI Bill. I think I have the Montgomery GI Bill because the military took $100 stipends out of pay check for 12 months. I have served in the active duty Air Force for 37 months now and I am now dwindling down to my last 10-11 months left in the service. I'll be getting out to pursue a BSN in Nursing. So if I need to change my GI Bill (because I do hear the 9/11 is the better bill) then I'll need to do it in the coming months.
So...can anyone help me out? Which GI bill is better? Should I switch to the Post 9/11 bill??
3 AnswersMilitary7 years agoStarting a Gaming Clan and Forum?
So we're starting a Gaming Community and a Clan. It's a community of gamers built around gamers. All of these sites are about the gaming companies and that;'s not what we wanted to do. We wanted to focus on the gamers themselves so we have game discussions, reviews, news, all sorts of things starting up. We partnered with a clan that is also starting out and trying to get partnered with a large gaming network on youtube.
Basically. Anyone who's ever been a webmaster can relate. It's hard to get to people to your site. So anyone want to join? More important what do you want to see on a site like this? Two birds one stone you know.
1 AnswerVideo & Online Games8 years agoAnyone a part of a political forum?
What political forums do you browse and why? What keeps you there?
I'm a part of a small (yet rapidly growing) one that's neutral based and works on less moderation and more towards protecting free speech. I was one other forums but their moderators we're crazy biased and would just clamp down on anyone that went against them or the forum majority. The forum I'm at now doesn't do that. http://www.politicalbullpen.com/
So I was wondering...since it's very important to debate and develop your opinion...what attracts you to a forum, and which do you browse.
3 AnswersPolitics8 years agoSecurity Forces Officer?
Looking for someone in the AF Security Forces to answer a question. What sort of bachelors degree is needed to move to the SF Officer job? I know criminal justice is one, but the local community colleges only offer something called Police Administration and they swear to me it's the same thing. Needless to say I don't trust them. I need the correct degree.
So does anyone know if that is indeed the same degree? Does anyone know what specific degrees the AF is looking at for those spots? I would have liked to have asked someone on base but I couldn't find any information on the portal on whom to ask such a question.
Background: Currently AF Enlisted, 4N151, 2 years in now. Looking to move up to the officers and make a career out of the AF. Any help from AD or Retirees would be great.

Anyone from the AF know?
2 AnswersMilitary10 years agoUSAF BMT Workout - anyone remember what it was?
Hey guys, I was looking into starting a pretty good workout routine everyday and I seem to recall that the bmt workout was pretty rough. I know the MTI's kept a card detailing the regiment in their hats.
Anyone know the regiment - like what they did, in what order, and how many reps?
Alternatively anyone know any other good military workouts?

4 AnswersMilitary10 years ago[AF] Differences between an Enlisted member and a Officer.?
What are the differences between an enlisted and a officer in the Air Force? I know a few such as respect, leadership responsibilities, and a higher pay.....but what really sets them apart.
I'm researching going back to college for my nursing degree. I'm active duty AF right now, enlisted 4N1X1. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it to apply for officership or to be a civilian nurse. Any help would be appreciated.

I've searched high and low, online and offline, and I just can't seem to find a part for my jeep. I'm looking for new hard plastic interior door panels for full doors on a '97 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. Does anyone have any idea where to find this?
I've already searched all the obvious places - quadratec, ebay, jc whitney, etc. I need to head to a a few junk yards to see if I can junk the parts but I haven't had the time yet. Anyways hope someone knows where to go for this!
1 AnswerJeep1 decade agoUSAF Nurse (Officer) VS Civilian Nurse?
Hey guys. Greetings from Texas. I'm moving off to my next duty station soon, the USAF is sending me to Langley. I've been checking out school around the area and I have decided that after I get orientated and I finish my CDC Tests I want to resume my college education. I was a nursing student prior to enlisting. Although it's awhile off, I'm still doing my research now, but this question is bugging me.
What exactly are the benefits of becoming an nurse (effectively an officer) with the USAF and how does it differ from getting out once my contract is up and taking a civilian hospital job?
Also what exactly are the benefits of being a USAF officer (other than respect), we don't think about that too much as enlisted members.
Can anyone EXPERIENCED (means none of you in DEP or wanting to join) help me out and set me straight on some of these questions?
2 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoUSAF Active to Reserves?
A group of guys around here in USAF tech school recently switched from AF Active to AF Reserves. Apparently you can still do this in tech school. I was wondering what was the process to do this? Does anyone know the pro's and con's of switching. I'm interested because I'd really like to go finish my nursing degree.
Please keep the answers info related and if you have links for me (other than the af reserves site) please link me.
2 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoWhen can I move to a new duty station?
Long story short. I'm assigned to Lackland AFB for my first duty station. Needless to say it wasn't on my "dream sheet". How long do I have to stay at Lackland before I can apply to be assigned to a new duty station?
4 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoUSAF Enlisted But wanting to get into Nursing?
I was hoping some of my fellow USAF members here, or even some of the other active members here could help me out on this one. I'm a A1C in the Air Force currently in tech school for surgical services. I'm planning ahead (yes I know that I must complete tech school and the CDC's first) and researching career options at the moment.
Prior to enlisting to the USAF I had completed about 1/3 of nursing school (RN). While I was planning on being Air Force anyways when I ran out of money during the end of one of the semesters I was prompted to sign up earlier than I planned. I enlisted under a general contract and am now happily learning the ways of a surgical tech....but I'm still ambitious enough to want to finish that RN degree and possibly (do I dare say...) earn a commission. I have all my general education classess finished.
So I was wondering what would be the best way to go about earning my RN degree and becoming an officer? Would it be best to go civilian and try apply to OTS, or does the Air Force have any programs I could enter or use? Should I look for ROTC despite being active duty?
Basically I would like your opinion on the best way to go about gaining this (while still remembering I am an active duty surg tech). Is there any programs I should be looking into, speaking to people about, etc.
1 AnswerMilitary1 decade agoNeed help understanding PTO Hours and a payout.?
Hey guys. I'm a part time EMT who is going to basic training for the Air Force in 2 weeks. My two weeks notice went into effect today and I was given an exit interview. During that interview I was told that I was going to be paid out all the PTO Hours I had accrued over my 3 years of working. I never knew I had the benefit of having PTO at all so I have...120 days of PTO stored as of today.
I made about $9 an hour and worked a minimum of 8 hours a day. Usually I worked 16 hours a day, and I'd rarely I'd pull a 24 hour shift.
I was told they would be paying me every 2 weeks by mailing me a paycheck, even though my last paycheck would be this week. From our PR Department's reaction I seem to pick up that this might be pretty good sum of money.
I don't really know what any of this means. Can anyone help me understand this better? Anyone have any idea on how much money I'll get??
1 AnswerOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoWhat USAF Job is this commercial illustrating?
I saw a air force commercial that highlighted medical teams in the air force. Being a civilian EMT who's 45 days away from going to BMT under an open contract...I'm researching every job availabe so I I know what to look at and what not too look at. I know most of this commercial is high tech graphics showing a "future" view....but what actual job is it showing in the air force? Is it Aerospace Medical Tech?

I'd appreciate answers from USAF active duty and vets only since they would seem to know about this topic more than anyone else here.
2 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoIntroducing a new younger cat to an older cat? HELP?
My family has a tabby cat (female) who has been with us for 12 years. She has not lived with any other cats before, not even any dogs. I think she has some mental issues to be honest. She's afraid of anyone that she's never met before and is very timid amongst new things in the house. She does not let us hold her and she's not terribly affectionate but we love her. She likes the family and interacts with us often.
2 days ago my Mom found a stray around the house, a young orange tabby (male), about a year old, who is probably a farm cat. We live in the country. She wants to keep him, he's very affectionate and looks like he really needs a home and a family to love him.
The old cat, despite not meeting him yet, is pissed however. She can smell the new cat on us and will not let her guard down around us. She's now constantly growling at the family and is unfriendlier than ever...and we haven't even introduced the new cat yet.
It doesn't seem to me like this arrangement is going to work but the family has grown attached to the new cat. If we can't take him then he'll have to go to the SPCA. I'd hate to see that. There's a lot of strays here that never get a good home.
Does anyone have any advice that could help me?
2 AnswersCats1 decade agoWhat size bag can be considered carry on luggage?
I bought a bag for my flight at Kohls today. It's a rather small duffel bag sized bag. I need to know whether this would be considered a carry on bag. If it isn't I need to return it and get on that is.
I'm being flown out to basic training for the Air Force and I don't know what airline the government will have us use.
It's size is 12 X 16.5 X 9 in inches. Weight wont matter as I'm packing very lightly.
4 AnswersPacking & Preparation1 decade agoWhat states do a PA EMT-B License transfer into?
Hey Guys.
I have a PA EMT-B license. Besides VA I was wondering if what other states I could transfer my EMT License to. Which ones would I need to take a test. Which states would require the whole EMT curriculum again.
I just joined the Air Force and I'll be sent to an Air Base somewhere in the US, I just don't know where yet. I'm interested in seeing how this process works because I want to continue being an EMT while in the service even if it's with a community volunteer company.
2 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoJeep Electrical Question: Fog Lights Fuse Blew?
Hey guys. I don't understand too much about auto wiring or electronics so bare with me on this question. I've had fog lights on my jeep for over a year now with no issues. However last week I turned my lights on and they wouldn't come on, however the little dash switch light still powered up. My Father thought something was wrong with the relays in the wiring (near the battery) so we checked them. One relay had a fuse that was yellow with a five 5 on the top of it, this one was fine. We checked the second relay and found a clear fuse with a 25 on the top of it, and this one was blown. Ok, no big deal, we replaced the clear 25 fuse with one we had stored. When I turned the lights on they appeared for 10 seconds, and then went off with a loud pop, upon checking the clear 25 fuse had immediately blown. I'm not sure what to do next. My father isn't sure if the mechanics put the correct fuses in when the installed the lights 1 year ago, but I don't know, it worked for over a year.
Anyways I can't find any documentation on the correct fuses these lights should have in their relays, and I'm not sure how to fix this issue. Does any auto savvy guys here assist in this, or brain-storm a possible solution or fix for me to try?

1997 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. The Lights are KC HiLiTES SlimLite 100W Super Whites, there are 2 of them on the front fender. Before anyone says it - no I can't take it to a shop, I'm in debt as it is, I simply can't afford the service. If it must remain unfixed than so be it, but I'd like to try to fix it at least.
