  • How do I go about obtaining permission to hold a raffle in my place of business?

We just opened a new business (archery range / pro shop) in Kokomo, Indiana and would like to hold a raffle in our grand opening. Could someone please tell me what I need to do to do this? Are there "raffling permits" I must have or permission I must seek before doing this? Any help given will be most appreciated.

    Thank you very much!

  • Is there a computer application like Apple Photo Booth that is compatible with Windows?

My daughter and I were in an electronics store browsing the computers while my husband was looking for something else ... she stumbled on this enormous Apple computer with this most amazing program called Photo Booth. She and I stood there taking pictures and using the different settings for at least an hour having the most fun we have had together in a long time! I literally thought I was either going to wet myself or get kicked out from laughing so hard! Anyway, I would love to have something like that for our computer here at home however we do not have an Apple computer. We would need something compatible with Windows. If you have any information that would help me, please know it would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks to all -

  • Desperately searchinng for a plaid wallpaper border! Would love to have beige included ...?

I got a bit ahead of myself when I started to redecorate my family room! I stripped all the existing border off the walls and was (still am) insisting on finding a neutral based plaid border to replace what I took off. It has been weeks upon weeks now and my walls are still bare! I have searched and searched through book after book and even searched page after tens of pages on the internet and still have not had any success in finding just a plaid wallpaper border. I would love to find a beige plaid border with perhaps some sage, blue, or brown tones. If anyone has any information or could provide any direct links without having to go through page after internet page of wallpapers covered in ducks or tea cups, I would appreciate it immensely!

I thank you as do my naked bare walls ...

  • Which leg to put in back of starting blocks for sprints?

I have been a sprinter for years and have always been taught - tried and true - to put your powerhouse leg in back for that "explosive" power. Whichever leg is your stronger leg, that leg goes in back. That's the way I have always been taught, that is the way that has always worked for me. Well, recently I was asked to help coach and I was put in the hot seat and asked why the power house leg goes in the back rather than the front. I was not sure what to say or what answer to give. I have records standing from high school, went to state, and just knew what worked for me so that was pretty much all I knew to say! After extensive research, most of what I have read says the exact opposite. What is the reasoning behind the powerhouse leg being in the front and does it matter that much if both legs are supposed to be exploding out of the blocks any way? I am just confused now - and put in my place a bit, too!

Please help by explaining ... and not by ridiculing!

  • Do Soy Products Contain Gluten?

I have celiac disease (a severe allergic reaction to gluten). I was wondering if soy products have gluten in them. I am not sure about the vegetarian burgers or meat but would like to try them as all other packaged meats (lunch meat, sausage, etc.) contain some sort of gluten.

  • Scrapbook Beginner Seeks Catalogs By Mail ...?

I am dying to try my hand at scrapbooking. I have endless mounds of supplies to get started with yet when I sit down ready to do it, I come up blank. I buy magazines with oodles of nifty how-to's and product ideas yet I can't seem to find actual tangible catalogs that come through the mail where I can find and even purchase products. I don't want to download catalogs on my computer; I want to be able to actual mark in the catalog, make notes, and "see" what I am ordering without fear of being booted off the internet at any given moment!

I am in need of sites that will actually send me catalogs through the good old post and if anyone has any suggestions, ideas, or tips on how to get started on scrapbooking, I would be forever grateful if they would send them my way. I don't know the lingo, what all the products do, what I need, the list goes on and on.

I fall in love with all the beautiful pages I see in the magazines and want to start building my own. Can anyone help me?!

  • Post Knee Surgery / Needs Stretching Exercises?

My son (16y.o.) recently had his second knee surgery (he tore his meniscus). We were told to have him do daily stretches to strengthen his knee (the ligaments, tendons, etc.) yet we do not know what types of stretches would actually help. I do not know the difference between the different types of stretches (ie isometric, propreioception, etc) when I read about the different stretches on the internet. I can't see actual pictures, either, which I believe would help me explain the exercises to my son. Does anyone know of any stretches he can do to help strengthen his knee yet at the same time not overdue anything as not to rush things? Could you include pictures or tell me a great site that might have actual pictures along with the instructions? We were told to stay away from extension exercises and anything that has strong impact (jumping, running, etc) for the time being.

  • What is Fifth's Disease?

My daughter was sent home from school with something the teacher called fifth's disease. She told me not to be alarmed but who wouldn't be with a diagnosis with the word "disease" in the title?! We had gone to Bath and Body Works a few days ago to get some lotions and body wash. My daughter used the new body wash in the shower and the lotion afterwards. By the time she got home from school, she was covered with a rash she said felt funny (itched and stung a lot) and she had very rosey cheeks and a fever. I thought it was an allergic reaction to the lotion and wash so I told her not to use it any more and gave her an antihistamine. Apparently there have been numerous cases of fifth's disease at my daughter's school and the teacher said to just let it run its course. Is there anything I should do for my daughter? How long to keep her home from school? I certainly hope someone can help me with this. I need to know if I should be concerned or worry more! Thank you ...

  • Question on Meditation ... How?!?

I have been doing some reading lately and have noticed a common thread among the books I am reading ("You Can Heal Your Own Life", "The Secret", "A New Earth" to name a few). They all speak of meditation, clearing your mind. I am sure this is going to sound quite strange or even silly but I don't know how to even begin. I have never meditated before so I do not know what is expected nor do I know where (or how) to start. How can I actually clear my mind? The thought seems so difficult to wrap my brain around. Is yoga considered a form of meditation? Can anyone reccomend a book on how to start? I am extremely serious about wanting to follow the books and try to benefit myself in any way possible. I would very much like to learn about meditation and how a person begins, where she begins, and what is to be expected. Any information that can be passed on will be sincerely appreciated. More than words ...

  • Valentine's Gift Ideas For Guys?

What on earth do guys want for Valentine's Day?! I have a fiance who is in his middle thirties and I have no idea what to get him for Valentine's Day. It doesn't help that his birthday is just twelve days after, either. I have to think of two presents to give in two weeks. Guys are so hard to buy for; at least I think so. It was hard enough to figure out everything to purchase for Christmas and just when that is over, now there is Valentine's Day, too?! I know he likes dark chocolate so that is a given but is that enough? Sometimes I feel this holiday is more geared towards women because the choices are so obvious and plentiful. Do other gals out there have this same problem with their guys; what to buy them for Valentine's Day? I am over the usual responses; sex, showing up in lingerie, cologne, blah blah blah ... Does anyone have any really unique answers or suggestions?

  • Colon Cleanse?

Can anyone tell me - seriously - the benefits of a colon cleanse? Is it something you recommend? I have been reading just a bit about how so many things are effected by the colon and how you can feel so run down, bloated, be unsuccessful with losing weight, suffer from irritable bowel syndrome, have digestive problems, etc. all from neglecting your colon. I am just not sure if this has any truth behind it or not. Is a colon cleanse worth having? Is it an expensive process? How do you go about looking into something like this? I realize this topic is a bit off the wall, but any serious help or information would be most beneficial.

    Thank you ever so much.

  • Where To Find Varsity Letters and Awards For A Letter Jacket?

I am trying to find a site where I could order the letters and awards for a varsity letter jacket. I believe they are called chenille but I am not sure. They are made of a material that closely resembles the look and feel of a berber carpet. I would very much like to be able to order a catalog if at all possible. I also located a site where they had new hoodie style letter jackets for young men but there was no catalog available. If anyone knows any place I would be able to view any more of this type jacket, please let me know this, too. Thank you so much for your help.

  • In Desperate Need Of Help Finding A Specific Counselor's Name?

A few years ago, I went to a counselor. I desperately need to contact this counselor regarding certain issues and problems I am now going through. I know this sounds strange but I had forgotten her name until recently. I think / thought I remembered her name then when I tried looking her up on the computer, I could find nothing. I don't know what to do about locating her but I need to terribly. Is there any sort of general listing out there that might list all the counselors, pyschiatrists, whatever title they go by in a certain state (Indiana to be more specific)? Can I just search somewhere to even see if I have the correct name? How do I find this person so I can get the help I am searching for? If this makes sense to anyone, please let me know! Thank you so much. I don't know what else to do to try to find this counselor.

  • Sugar Coated / Glazed Pecan Recipe Wanted?

When I was a young girl, there was a very special woman in my family. She would always bring us treats - especially around the holidays. She would make these glazed pecans that she called "yummy nuts" and if you didn't get any right after she brought them, you weren't going to get any because everyone loved them so much! They had a "coating" on them that seemed to be like crunchy little bits of sugar and they did not have any actual spices such as cayenne pepper in them. I have noticed at state fairs and carnivals - anywhere there are booths with food - they sell these exact same treats. I do not know how to make them and would love to have the recipe. I have found a few similar recipes but none quite like the way Grandma Dorris made them ...

If anyone out there has a recipe that might help me, I would appreciate having it so very much.

Thank you to everyone who answers and may you have the brightest most joyous holiday season ...

  • Bob And Tom Q95 Radio Question?

I am dying to find the comedian who does that clip about "No Neck Nick" on Bob and Tom Radio Q95 (in Indianapolis, Indiana). I would also love to know where I can find the clip from the "el learno systemo" on how to learn "hispanish". I have looked on the Bob and Tom website but can't figure out where a search is or how to do much on there at all! Is anyone out there familiar with either of these hilarious skits? Do you have any information that might lead me to listening to them once again?!

  • Question About UFC Fight on December 29th?

I am a huge UFC fan and was really looking forward to seeing Matt Hughes and Matt Serra fight in Las Vegas on December 29th. Now I see commercials saying that Matt Hughes is going to fight GSP (which is fine by me because I would much rather see Georges any day of the week!). I was just really looking forward to seeing this battle and for the life of me can't understand why Serra isn't going to fight. Can someone tell me if something happened to make him back out? Does he not want to defend his title? What's going on here?! The commercial said something about an interim title fight ... what does that mean? How can they fight for the title if Serra still has the belt?

I do not want to make this question about who is the better fighter or some type of a message board to have who is going to kick who's butt ... I just want to know why Matt Serra isn't going to fight Hughes.

What a bummer. At least I will get to see GSP, though.

  • Helping The Needy / Underprivileged At Christmas Time?

I live in Northern Indiana ...I would very much like to have my family (two children and my husband) help a family who desperately needs it this holiday season. I have given in the past to "Coats for Kids", I have sent oodles of canned goods to school with my children, I have attached mittens, hats, and scarves to trees at school and in the stores for those who do not have them but I want to do more this season. I am a firm believer in helping those who aren't able to do for themselves. I want my children to experience the joy and the indescribable feeling that comes with sharing with others. And I want them to know that the holidays are not all about getting. In the past, my brother has actually had a family's name and a list of what they need, the ages of the family members, and where to take the items. He and his family took all sorts of gifts to the door on Christmas day. This is what I want to do but don't know how or where to even start. Can someone point me in that direction?

  • Twelve Days of Christmas Delima?

I would very much like to celebrate the Twelve Days of Christmas this year. I am not sure if I want to start with one gift on the first day, then proceed to two gifts on the second day, and so on and so forth OR if I want to just give small tokens / gifts on each day having the biggest gift be given on the twelfth day of Christmas. I am only doing this because I think it is fun, I have done it in the past, and I simply want to continue to do this fun "tradition" with my family members (two children and my husband). It's not a religious statement, it's not meant to belittle the true meaning of Christmas in any way, shape, or form, nor is it meant to offend anyone. I would appreciate suggestions as to gift ideas, how or what to give for the seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, and eleventh days especially, not anyone's view point on whether or not I know what Christmas means. I am a very strongly devoted Christian who just wants to have some spirited fun this holiday season! Thank you!
