Arrrgghh! Got an ipad. When I set it up a bunch of emails from my server piled into my inbox. I have an iphone, so I expected that to happen, but when i deleted them from my ipad they also were deleted from the server, which I did not want to happen!

How can I set things so that I can delete messages from my device without deleting them from the server.

Previously when I opened an incoming message I could see their message in front of me with my message (to which they were responding) below it. Something has happened so that now I have to scroll around.

How can I restore the view I had before?

I'm trying to use my laptop and it's revving and racing. When I try to type something there's a lag between keystroke and the letter showing on the screen. It's acting like when Malware is scanning for viruses, but I can't figure out what's turned on or what it's trying to accomplish. I can't turn it off so I can use my laptop.

I ran two virus scans and they came up clean.

I made a 2010 Roth IRA contribution in Jan 2010. Later I unexpectedly had to sell investments which pushed my earnings over the $100,000 limit. Which made the IRA contribution improper. I've been advised that I need to recharacterize/remove the $5000 and the earnings on that $5000 from my IRA. I understand I have to pay a 6% penalty on the earnings when I file my 2010 taxes. Is this correct? And, do I have to remove the 6% penalty from the IRA, too? or can I just pay it from my checking account?

I've been working on a huge project, and somehow I deleted the most current copy from a memory stick. Is there any way I can get it back?

Also, I have an earlier version, thank goodness, but it is confusing to me: I have a complete document, and the two halves of the document are saved as invidual documents. In looking in the folder I see that one document is 89 KB, the second is 127 kb, but both together in one document are 466 kb. How can that be possible? Two are Microsoft Word, and the combined document is Microsoft97-2003.

Please help!

A week after turning 18 a friend committed an assault & went to prison in OR. He did his time, was paroled to CA, had no probs for 3 add'l yrs, as req'd, & recently, successfully, petitioned the court to seal his record.

We were told: "his record couldn't be expunged bc his crime was a felony...the difference between expunged & sealed is that w/ expunged his record is literally destroyed, whereas sealed means police, prosecutors & court personnel will always b able to see it, but no one else...employers, landlords, etc.

....the benefit of a sealed record is he can legally say "no" if he's ever asked if he's committed a felony, etc."

We're nervous about lying. The DA explicitly assured us this is the way sealing a record works. Is this really true? Does lying make him vulnerable to civil probs, termination for lying on an employment app., on a fed. gov. form, etc?

Can he get bonded?

How do we make sure his record really is sealed?

I've always had excellent vision, but I've gotten older, and now I wear progressive lenses. Mostly for reading, but one of my eyes needs minor correction for distances. My prescription seems right for reading, computer work, etc., but I can't see well enough to do any close work--take out a splinter, etc. Should I expect my glasses to be good enough for me to do everything I used to be able to do? Or should I expect to have to use a magnifying glass or something to do close work?

My neighbors have large areas of lush, healthy, great-smelling lavender. I don't think they do anything to it. I planted a couple different kinds and one died, the others are very spindly.

(Also, am I s'posed to cut them back after blooming?)
