"Stand- by" for earlier flight?
I'm traveling to Nashville, TN on June the 4th on Frontier airlines. I did not purchase my ticket, my father did on- line. I got the itinerary and discovered that my flight gets in at 10:30 pm, from there I have to drive to Atlanta, GA. Between the drive time and time zone shift I'd get in at about 6am. Since I have to stand up in a wedding at 1pm, this is less than ideal. I called and asked the airline about changing the flight. I was told there would be a change fee and the difference in cost of the two tickets, approximately $350 total. My father did not believe that answer, he called and he was told I could fly "Stand by" on an earlier flight with no fee as long as a seat was available. I called back to verify and was told they no longer offer "Stand by", but I could change my ticket that day for a $150 fee. My sister is flying in from LA, also on Frontier, and had a similar problem. She was told that the agents at the airport have discretion as to whether or not to charge the change fee so she could take the chance and maybe not get charged. Can anyone tell me which of these things, if any, is accurate?
4 AnswersAir Travel1 decade agoAtlanta, GA bakeries?
My sister ordered her cake a couple of months ago based on a guest list of 50. The venue changed to the Grandparents (his) home about 3 weeks ago. Along with the venue change apparently came about 50 more guests. After talking to her already arranged bakery she's decided that the best idea is to just get a sheet cake or two to accommodate all the additional guests. She arranged for one sheet cake for the adults that is in the same style and flavors as the wedding cake, but would like to do something different for the kids. Add in that without any need for a "gourmet" cake, the expense savings would be welcome. There's going to be about 10- 20 kids attending along with their parents. It's easy enough for one of us to pick up the cake and take it to the reception/ wedding venue, but none of us are actually in Atlanta so we have no clue where to start. Any suggestions welcome.
2 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoDeceased Bride's parents, need some ideas...?
My Half- Sister is getting married in early June. We lost our father to pancreatic cancer in October and her mother passed away due to a massive heart attack in March. We have already decided that her brothers and myself and my sister are going to "Give Permission" for the marriage. Now we are dealing with the issue of getting her down the isle. Originally her oldest brother was going to walk her down the aisle, but after thinking about it, she would rather walk down alone with pictures of her parents or something along that line. The idea of carrying 8x 12 frames of pictures of her parents doesn't appeal to her. Does anyone have any creative ideas to still have her parents "walk" her down the aisle? There will be framed photographs of them up by the Unity Candle, as well as pictures of the Groom's grandparents that have also passed on.
19 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoSmall breed recommendations?
I have always had large dogs. The smallest was a husky mix that weighed in at 70lbs, the largest a 250lb St Bernard. We lost our St Bernard to old age just over a year ago. Since we have no pets and some time has passed, I agreed to look at a dog with my daughters. They are both asking for a small dog this time. All our animals come from shelters or breed rescues, but I have no personal experience with small dogs. Any recommendations as to breeds to start with?
